YOUNG CORMORANT, RAMSEY HARBOUR.

The readers of my other blog know I have been determined to photograph the family of elusive cormorants that have made Ramsey home. Well I'm getting there. This young one was the closest I had been. I still had to run the length of the harbour to keep up with him. Much to the locals amusement, it's the mad photographer woman again I hear them cry. Then they too run away before I can capture then. I think It would be easier to find an Isle of Man Mythical Fairy, at Fairy Bridge than it would a local. By the way, should you find yourself on the island, and passing Fairy Bridge, be sure to say hello to the fairies. It's considered bad luck not to, especailly if you are TT rider.

I know exactly how you feel trying to get a particular bird shot and it feels like they are conspiring against you - that is exactly what the hawks are doing to me!

This is a great photo of a bird I have never seen before. I love seeing critters I wouldn't normally get to see. Thanks for this wonderful photo!

I've seen cormorants. Thye don't live here in the Valley, but there are some on the coast of Washington. I've seen them also in India.

Interesting. I've never seen one of those before.

We have a whole host of cormorants around our way. You've done a good job to get this picture, they're pretty quick and agile, and don't like people creeping up on them. This is as close as I got.

“it's the mad photographer woman again”… LOL
It’s funny how some people think Photographers are crazy, they can call it what they want
However they would not know how satisfying it’s to capture that special moment….

How fast do the TT riders cross the Fairy Bridge - won't they be half a mile up the road before they've had time to say hello?

Good shot of a difficult target. The closest I have been to one was about 15 feet. When I raised my camera to take a shot, I saw the dreaded, Card Full flashing in the viewfinder. I believe it was my loud explicative which caused it to take wing.
