ABC - M IS FOR MOTORBIKES, THE ISLE OF MAN T.T.

The Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophey) is the oldest road races for motorbikes and sidecars in the world. In 2007 the event celebrated it's first 100 years. For 2 weeks the island hosts the competition, the first week for practise, the second for a series of races featuring different classes of motorbikes and sidecars. It is still the single biggest event on the island and the biggest tourist attraction, with particpants and spectators arriving from as far as Australia to the Isle of Man itself. Here are a few I captured from a much larger collection I sell online.

From top to bottom:

John McGuinness( record breaking lap)
Adrian Archibald
Barry Wood, Derran Slous and John Crellin
Tourist bikers waiting for a local to cross. We don't hurry on the island for anyone.

All photos subject to copyright.

If you would like to join ABC Wednesday please see MRS NESBITT'S PLACE
Mrs Nesbitt will also be a most welcome visitor to the TT this year.

I recognised Johm McGuiness straight away, he is from Louth in Lancashire. Yes Adrian Archibald too, always reminds me of an albino rabbit! LOL! We should be seeing some racing this weekend over at Scarborough.

Off to search out a link...back in a little while.

A bit to dangerous for an old man like me, but with so many bikers in on this Theme this is going to be a popular post!

Wow! Right up my alley interest wise, though you'll not catch me trying to ride this way -:) Photographing them would be a different story and I'd be in hog heaven (pun intended). Great work!! I didn't see any obvious link to the others. Would you send me a link?

Excellent pictures! My dad has about a million pictures (on slide) from the TT, though they're all fading now as they were taken 40+ years ago.

What great action shots. They are just terrific. I have heard of street races and I always worry about little kitties that wander about. Or dogs. Or kids. I'm sure that they are ok: the noise alone would scare a cat off. it must be like a two week party there.

les photos des motos en plein vitesse sont superbes, bravo car c'est vraiment pas facile a faire comme photo.

Photos of motorcycles in full speed are superb, bravo because it is really not easy to do as a photo.

A big hi today to everyone. I have actually been blown away my all the wonderful comments today. Thank you all so much for taking the time out to stop by and leave your thoughts. You've all made me realise that quitting a sensible job to persue photography was not that crazy afterall. Even on this tiny island of mine, with the advent of the net anything is possible. I will get round to all of you as soon as i can, it's just been a very busy day.once again, thank you.
