ODD SHOTS MONDAY - CAPTAIN DEFINITE

"Captain Definite" is the alter ego of the Btitish Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Remeber yesterday in my blog I said Gordon Brown was in for a shock, this is why. I also mentioned that my living room floor is covered in painting of footballers and politicians, well Captain Definite is one of those paintings. Captain Definite was created on my living room floor last week by my partner, Gary Barker for the BBC Politics Show Website.

Look closely at the image. It's my photo, of Barker's cartoon. Now this is the odd bit. If you look closely you will see that the image I have taken is actually on the tv. Can you imagine sitting down to your to sunday dinner to have the image you have been living with in varied incarnations appear on your own tv. Surreal. Just had to snap it fo the odd shot.

Captain Definite is part of a BBC cartoon strip created by Barker. See BARKER BITES BACK! if you want to see the entire strip, posted one a day from today. Also while your there can you tell him Babooshka would like to hoover, so pick his bloody drawings up.

Want to join Odd Shots Monday?

Great story about the transformation from idea to creation.

I think Captain Definite looks....super. Not sure I can tell Barker to pick up the floor...he bites back.

If Barker bites back after we tell Barker Babooshka is going to (a) broom him or (b) broom the bloody floor, are we likely to get rabies?

We just want to know what the risks are before we rally to Basbooshka's aid. However, don't get the idea from this line of questioning that your reinforcements are timid....

Looking forward to the rest of the Captain Definite series....

Your Gary is a star - I think his caricatures knock spots off many of the weeklies.Rowson and Bell were fun with Blair but I don't like the Brown depictions at all.

That's a brilliant photo of the TV! Your man has a great talent, but you're never going to have a clear floor.

I love it! I am going to have to look at Barker Bits Back to see more, and to better understand the moniker.

Very funny. It must be strange for you, as you say. Gary is very talented and I really enjoy his cartoons!

To answer your question - Montpellier Garden is named because of the Montpellier Spa, which was named by a French bloke who bought the land it was built on in the 1800's. That whole area of Cheltenham is called Montpellier!

He looks a little like our (U.S.) Nixon! Ha!

Great picture and story. The Daily Mail recently ran something similar. If I remember rightly he was shown as someone who was indecisive and was beaten into submission by the Conservatives.

Enjoyed the story along with the photo. I am not surprised that you got such a good photo off the TV -- I did that also not long ago when they showed our tornado which I missed catching myself. Come and see my odd shot.
