RAMSEY HARBOUR UNDER MANNANAN'S CLOAK
Ramsey Daily Photo, and Babooshka have company in the Isle Of Man. Guess what they're also from Ramsey. I want to introduce you to the wondeful world of MANNANANS CLOAK
As you know the other day, I was a little down after the TT and the lack of island interest in my photography, when ironically I have a worldwide following and buying audience. Little did I know there was another island website out there in virtual land. Mannanan's cloak found me, intoduced themselves and I thought I'd take a peek, just to get a flavour. Five mins. turned in to an hour. Couldn't tear myself away. Fascinating stuff.
It's a fully comprehensive website jam packed with wonderful items such as lifeboat shouts, pub guides, TT, photo quiz... and well I don't want to reveal all here, when you can hop over and lose yourself for a while virtually on the island. If you click the link for MANNANANS CLOAK you'll be there. It's already a link now on mine, bookmarked and hopefully promoted in todays post. It was really relaxing for me too be the veiwer, rather than the author for a change. All the pleasure without the responsibility. For all you Isle of Man Lovers, I can't recommend it enough.
The photo is an archive, as I'm still a little camera fatigued. It's Ramsey Harbour very early one morning when only me and the shore birds were about. I went to photograph sunrises and photographed resting boats instead. It seems to sell mostly as a postcard or greeting card. If you click this link SIMPLY SCENE, IMAGE REVIEWS you can see what I mean about worldwide rather than island recgognition. This might be why it's a good seller. Who am I too judge. My favourites are the ones that sell the least.

WOW - I love this shot - that blue is gorgeous!
I'm with Carletta!
I love your photography and even if this particular one is archival, it's incredible. Love the reflection and the colors... stunning.
Mountain Retreat
youve captured the colours really well
Wow those are some fantastic colors
i like the reflection in the water. so blue and so crisp. thanks for sharing your part of the world. your posts never fails to amuse me.
A stunning photo, Babooshka! I love the colours, especially the blue!
what a shot!!!! magical colors
Great shot, love it. I've put some tips on my blog about starting in photography, if i,ve missed something that might help could you pop it in a comment?
I too follow the blog. Ex Manx Born Islander. It is,(and always has been)very negative about non Manx creative folks. I do not doubt if you were a Manx born photogrpher you would have flourished within the island. Sadly the island does not share your aspirational viewpoint. I can only add my voice to the many others and encourage you to keep up the good work. Your photography is top notch and should be used by the powers that be on the island in terms of publcity. Ramsey and the Isle of Man should be greatful for the positive publicity generated in the wake of the TT fiasco!
Best of luck.
As a 'come-over' I agree totally with everything robert q says.
The colors of the boats are spectacular, and the reflection of the houses in the water a great success: "A mirror acuatico" ...Muy pretty photo!!!
un beau panorama, belles couleurs et j'aime beaucoup le reflet. (j'aurais peut ĂȘtre adouci un peu la photo, enfin je sais pas)
a beautiful panorama, beautiful colors and I love the reflection. (I may be softened a little picture, finally I don't know)
This is a fantastic view of the city and port ... great colours too.
Just catching up after visitors and bronchitis...read your words on being down after the TT and how your blog is so well received elsewhere but little interest from within the island itself. You know I think that's true for many of us. I know the majority of my readers come from somewhere else.
Your TT photos were fabulous but that's once a year. I so enjoy looking at the island through your eyes.
Beautiful shot, good work!
I'll be following the links after the rush and madness that is Sky Watch.. I love the colour and light of this picture.
beautiful photo. . .Calmed me down this morning.
I don't know the entire story behind your comments today being as I don't live there, but I think what robert q and barkerbitesback said is quite true.
BTW. . .That was me in that photo of the lights. I took it while arm was still in a sling and I couldn't quite hold the Nikon and was using a Coolpix
Gorgeous hun. Keep up the good work, whatever happens. I check in as often as I can, but when on a dig it can be rather tricky to access internet connection. LOL

It has all been said this is a beautiful photo of Ramsey Harbour. Some people are amazingly narrow minded, rise above them, your photos sell I.o.M every time it looks so amazing.
"Louis" likes this photo very much - you'll never go wrong by showing him a photo of boats and water!
"Louis" saw that you had commented at A Yankee In Belgrade about the fine young Serbian tennis player. Bibi's post inspired "Louis" to post this about two more winners.
Sorry, I've not been around for a while!
As ever terrific shot.
Loved the TT Stuff but it brought back painful memories.
I was out several times in the Seventies, fell in love with a local rider.
Sadly one night he drove round the course the wrong way, in his old Ford 'Freda' & crashed - he didn't know me or his family afterwards.
I haven't been back since.

This is just lush....
Lovely pictures and a nice blog. I`ll be back!
Nice photo. It looks like it has been hand coloured.
That is a great photo. I can see why people want a copy! Thanks for the link to your new discovery. It is a really interesting, indepth site with so much to see. I know why your time slipped away while you were there! :)
I love the color! This photo is so restful!
Lush is a good word for this colorful scene!
Regarding home town interest, I've found the same to be true. My solution is to focus on the real customers wants and needs, and let the locals do whatever they want. When once in awhile they do want something, they always expect me to give it away for a credit line. Hah! It's very rewarding to be able to say "no" in circumstances like this, and I really have a very sincere smile when I say it :) Don't beat yourself up. Move on and beyond.
Amazing shot, very nice lights and colors.
