This is a very friendly seal, who popped up to say hello, is in the town of Peel, situated on the east coast of the island. Yesterday I posted a photo of Peel Castle and it's Viking history. This image was taken on the far right of the castle in the harbour. Peel is a great place to see seals up close as they are often in the harbour competeing with the fisherman for fish.
I have been having a Viking theme and it's history in relation to the Isle of Man. I had planned on posting a lot more but I have a very poorly laptop. I am in the middle of saving and backing up all my photos before it dies completely and have been off the net all day, and may be for sometime.
Got to run and save my photos, thousands of them.

ooh! loved the seal AND the necklace!
What an interesting necklace. And that water is mighty green. The seal looks like he's wondering what you are holding - perhaps a strange-looking fish...
Have you considered getting a separate drive to back up your photos, or is that what you're trying to do before your machine dies? I hope you get them all saved.
I love the seal - it's so adorable! And, the necklace is beautiful.
Babooshka: What a great capture of the seal, very nicely done.
"Louis" continues to be fascinated with your Viking posts. This is a very interesting necklace!
"Louis" hasn't been commenting the last few days, and may not comment often in the coming weeks. He's up to his cowbell in work right now. He's not happy because it has diminished his ability to visit his friends in the blogosphere.
I love that little seal, but WOW, that necklace is gorgeous. I'm a beader and this is absolutely wonderful!
The Seal looks as curious as me.
The Necklace is a WOW! Nice bit of history you have shared here.
the seal looks content!
That is sooo cute Babooshka! Thanks for dropping by my Skywatch Friday Post and Leaving a comment! Hope to see you soon! God Bless and Have a great week starting tomorrow!
Steven^^
So sweet
Seals are rarely this trusting - though the ones around us were always being shot at. They tolerated us though, as we sailed by within about ten feet. Never did take a picture though.
For all the work you do, I am surprised you aren't on a desktop.
Hope your unit recovers.
He looks like a very friendly seal to be able to pop up and say hello like that!! I sure hope that your laptop behaves long enough for you to back up your photos...

I have found all these posts very interesting.. I hope you get you PC woes sorted out soon.
Yes very good and outstanding photogrpahy. I never knew the island I live on is this interesting.
A nice seal, but personally I found the necklace of much greater interest, but than I'm more of a history buff than animal photographer.
It looked very nice indeed and shows once again that the so-called pagans and Vikings were much more that the ferocious killers they have been taken to be.
Hope Your PC-stays alive for a little while yet!
i've never seen such green water - is that the sea? and do you swim in it???
beautiful necklace find
Like the person before me, I also wonder about the green of the water. Is that a photographic/computer display artifact or is it real?
Hey, good luck with your computer problems. May they be soon be a thing of the past!
Cool viking artifacts, and I love the friendly seal!! We don't see those at all in Texas, so I'm always so excited when visiting California and I spot one.
Great post and Camera Critters share!
That seems to be a great place to live. Nature, History, the sea - what more can you wish for?
Cheers, Klaus
Love the seal, though the water doesn't look very inviting!
That little guy looks so relaxed! I need to learn how he does it!
And adore your necklace!
The necklace is real along with many other relics uneathered here. A very
comprehensive blog. Thanks for highlighting many aspects of our island that are not as well known to the world.
That seal is beautiful, as is the Isle of Man! Only visited once, but seeing your blog makes me want to visit again
I agree, love both the seal & the necklace! And let me add that I've never seen water quite that color!
Wonderful seal .. and I am loving that necklace .. I hope Diane sees it and creates her own version of it.

That seal is lovely - they're curious people!
Can't get over the colours of that necklace! So old, yet so bright! Wonderful!
Such a cute seal. I do LOVE the necklace! The ancients sure knew a thing about what is pretty.
Hi Babooshka, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading through your viking series. They were quite an intrepid group of people.
As you may have guessed I am playing catch up.
The pagan necklace is amazing - it looks like something you could buy in one of the modern jewelry shops.
We have a resident seal at Port St Francis where we have a holiday apartment. It is always a delight to watch
Very sweet little seal.
Nifty shot of the seal. I love that necklace. Must appeal to my inner pagan. I want one.
Nice seal, I have actually only ever seen them in pictures.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your comment, I appreciate it very much.
not in that kind of shape??
your seal keeps me cool ha ha
How's it going with the pc woes. Remarkable seal photograph, he's so cute.

I do like seals a lot. When we go to San Francisco, we always make sure to go to Pier 39 (where they sunbathe a lot) and Seal Island (I think that's what it's called.). They are fun to watch.
The necklace is pretty cool, too.
Sorry for not commenting much in the last few weeks. . .just under a lot of stress that hopefully will end with June. It's the subject of my post tomorrow
Also, thanks for your kind words about today's post. We do really miss our son. I added something to my post because of the comments I got.
good luck with the photo saving, Babooshka.
Now that's green water! Perfect timing on the shot.
What a great combination of photos! I am sorry I missed them this weekend! I especially love the seal!
Lovely pictures there! I hope you manage to salvage your photos before the laptop carks it. That's one of my fears - I got a blue screen of death from my PC the other week, so am going to have tot sort out backing everything up. Eek, that's far too techy!
the seal is so cute, and the necklace is quite stunning. i would never have guessed it's age - it looks so fashionable :) guess fashion really does recycle. oh wow, that sentence is so lame. :)
Very cute seal, well captured!
Very cool seal, and I love the necklace!!
