How many of us feel like this boat? know I do at the moment. I have camera fatigue presently. I also have something called P.T.T. S. It's not serious, but it does stand for Post T.T. Syndrome. Perhaps a fit of the blues would be more apt, and less dramatic.Since moving here 5 years ago, 5 T.T.'s have resulted in this melancholia. I love the buzz, the atmosphere, the friendly tourists and bikers. The island comes alive, good customer service occurs and the sun always shines. Reality check today. Buses late, shop service poor, weather inclement and photographers viewed with a suspicious eye. Afterall, what could you possibly want to photograph now the TT is over? Oh I don't know, maybe everyday real life for future generations to see how their ancestors lived. It just doesn't compute.
So basically I'm sifting through photos for sale re TT for just about every country in the world, apart from the one that is home. This I find depressing. It's ironic to me that this blog is largely ignored here, yet foreign magazines, musuems and tourists are after my pics and follow the blog.
I have tried to raise the profile of the Isle of Man, but it seems the island is only interested in Manx failures. If this blog folded, and I was Manx, the the island would be happy as it could blame the world for ignoring it.
Fortunately, like Tigger, me and my trusty camera will bounce back within a day ot two.

Babooshska - "Louis" identifies with the P.T.T.S. Mme. la Vache left this morning for a trip to Japan and China. She has only been gone a few hours and the melancholy has set in on "Louis" already.

Okay, what's T.T.? I like the picture a lot. It speaks of experience and endurance.
The only connection I have ever had with Man is that my high school librarian was Manx (this was in the Bronx, New York City). Why on earth do I remember that?

There is a touch of that here in Tasmania. People appear to love the notion of ‘glorious failure’ far more than ‘stable (dull) success’. It really, really, REALLY annoys me too!

Ah, know that post assignment letdown all too well. Adrenalin keeps you going through the event reaching an almost euphoric level. Then boom! It's over. But the mind say "Gee, that was a real kick! More sure would be nice!" It will pass, though and next time around you'll do the same thing all over again :) Just give yourself a bit of space and after vacuuming the floor (sans painting) you'll be on the road again. ~Chuck

Babooshka, I love this photo, the sepia tones and all. I too am feeling very under the weather; headache, tummy ache, etc. But it's "only" physical, and I hope it will pass. Hang in there.

Please don't be so disillusioned! The TT is great for the IOM but there is more out there for you to snap - after all, the IOM is a beautiful place (mostly lol)

The T.T. is over and the noise, colour and vibrancy has gone. Tigger style recovery is needed as you say maybe add in a little cake for therapy too.
I am not sure what TT stands for but understand the rest of the post.
I share many of your same feelings. I somethings think people outside of Terrell know more about our town than people living here.

I totally get it. We have very few greek viewers - the internet is regarded with suspicion here. and you may have noticed, i barely ever feature people on my blog - i have absolutely zero confidence to take photos of actual people here. every time i raise the camera and there is people around i am met with strange looks. at least in winter. in summer people just think im another damn tourist. which also sucks since i keep trying to convince myself that i actually live here. anyway. sorry for hijacking your comments. i hope you feel a bit better soon. your photo is stunning.

I have those feelings too. I love your photography and I am happy I get the chance to see them on your blog. You have a lot of friends here and we are all here for you.
I've been working on my blog for over six months, and I still can't seem to get a following. I'm not sure that people actually read it. There are days when I get zero comments. It can really be depressing. But, I do it more for myself than for anyone else, although a "good job" every now and then would feel nice too :)

I sort of have the same feeling at the moment regarding my own photography and other peoples attitudes. I'm seriously in need of my holiday, I've got 1 week and counting!
