Mooragh lake, Mooragh Park
Skywatch again. Still no laptop, so an archive. Not as in a few months but as in a few years. I think this was one of the first images I took when we moved to the Isle Of Man. Must be aout 4- 5 years old. Fortunately Gary has some of my older sales images on his laptop so I can dip into them for the blog. Why has Gary got these images on his blog? He paints them for sale. Not all of my photos, just certain ones. If you look closely there is even a copyright on this image under my real name. As you can see this isn't your usual blog image, but a sales site one.
The park and lake have proved to be a great success for Ramsey, bringing visitors and tourists alike for canoeing, birdwatching, skateboarding or just to relax for lunch in one of the 2 cafes. Events are still held here such as varied music festivals, youth cycling tours and of course Ramsey Sprint(motorbikes along the promenade) during the TT Road Races. Of course you will also find this photographer up there. By the way this is the lake that I went for an unintentional swim in when my canoe capsized. It was so black I thought it was still a swamp. How I got back in the canoe fully clothed and sopping wet is still beyond me. Happy to report no sharks in the lake, but the financial sharks are lurking on dry land. If you read yesterdays post you will understand. Click Tony Soprano for the shark ref.
Guess what. Gary is doing his final cartoon for the(click) BBC, Barker Gallery tonight. Sad day. He also needs the laptop back soon, very soon.

Pity about the laptop and the dip in the lake. However, we gained a tremendous reflection picture, and that is not wholly bad?
The pic is great and I hope you'll have a pc soon to do whatever you want!
I like all of your photos,
and this one as well. The reflection is beautiful.
I am sorry about your laptop, hope you´ll get the pc soon.
Happy skywatching:-)
Oh, such tranquil beauty,
a heaven to rest your eyes and soul!
(Archive trouble,
oh dear, I keep my fingers crossed for you! My empathy is great, since my old external hard drive is keeping me out of three years worth of pictures.)
Looks like a beautiful place and thanks for all of the information on it. Definitely sounds like a place I would visit often. Can't believe you fell in the water. Reminds me of my one and only time in a kayak which was a miracle it happened at all considering I can't swim. :-D
Very pretty reflection photo! I love the sky!
Sadness of your laptop, but Greatness on your reflections and photo.
Wonderful shot!
Perfect reflection! Hope you'll get you PC soon! Have a nice Friday and week-end! :-)
You have great skills in photography and the written word.
Even four years ago this was and is a great picture.
Thank you for sharing.
So sorry about the laptop! Hope you get a replacement/PC soon! Love your shots as always! Thanks for the history as well. I learn more from people on Sky Watch than I have in years and it's great!
Nice reflections, bot in your picture and your words. Dips in the pond help cement moments in our minds. Hopefully new computer on the way soon. Peace.
Nature is truly beautiful! Happy weekend! Hope you get time to visit my corner too...
Perfect mirror image. What a charming photo.
Sorry for withdrawing the comment, I entered mine twice.
This so calm and serene. I used to sing a song called Mooragh Shore. I learned if off of a Dolores Keane CD. Do you know it?
Beautiful serene reflection shot.
Perfect sky watch. Hope your problems get sorted soon. Keep your chin up :)
What a beautiful, clear reflection. It might be an old shot but it is also a great shot.

Beautifully composed and colored.
Wonderful post, as usual. I really like the reflection. Hope all is getting better. Now get off Gary's laptop.
Well that is quite a history, but the photo is as always superb.
Thanks
Ray

Very serene. Hope you get the laptop sorted soon. Would appreciate any info about Homestay. Thanks.
Gosh what an eventful 5 years you have had. I sincerely hope stuff sorts itself out for gary!
Beautiful pic, nice compsition.
Technology! We hate it but can't live without it. I do hope you can get the laptop problems sorted soon. Maybe you could do a post telling us all how many photos need to be sold to buy a new laptop and have a counter on the side encouraging more sales.
The photo is brilliant as usual. If an exhibition in London would help I am happy to do stuff for you here.
Very pretty.
I like the reflection in the water ! it's a very beautiful picture !
That's so beautiful! Great painting after this photo, I guess.
64,019 can't be wrong. An old photo as lovely as all your others we all agree.
Has Gary tried Manx Tails? Don't know if they pay, but worth a shot.

More photographs like this of Ramsey and the park. Your swimming in the lake story is funny.
Great picture and an equally wonderful write-up accompanying it!
Cheers

Beautiful shot, lot of info too.
i am crazy about water reflections, this is utterly lovely.
A lovely picture, even if it is an archive :-)
lovely serene spot. thanks for sharing.
I absolutely love reflection shots! Terrific one. He paints your images?! COOL!
He paints your images? Now how romantic is that?
What a Winter photo, looming threatening skies and great reflections..
No wonder this photo has become a painting as well. It's so wonderfully serene and the colours in it are already like in a painting.
Pity that you'll loose the use of a laptop. Hope it'll fix itself in no time so that you can post more of your fine shots.
Lovely, thanks for stopping by!
aw, babe, I hope things get better for you both. your photo, as always, is stunning.
Sorry to hear about your unintentional swim but I know that those things make good stories! I wish that Santa gets you a good laptop so you get back to business.
Lovely photo for SWF. Have a nice weekend.
Thanks all again. Hoping to get my new photos back soon.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog :)
What a lovely photo - looks so peaceful and still. It must be a lot of fun to see your photos transformed into paintings!
Amy
Beautiful and serene!
Archive photo or not ... it's a real beauty with the soft colours in the sky and that wonderful reflection!
That would make a beautiful painting.
Great photo and post!!
Take care and have a wonderful weekend!!
I love the way we get two views of the sky! One as a reflection in the water! Beautiful photo!!

What a beautiful image this is and I can see it would be a beautiful painting as well. Here's hoping you get your computer soon. I would be so hard to live with if I didn't have one!
Thanks for your visit and comment on my sunrise at the lake.
Beautiful reflection shot. I hope you get your pc soon, can't imagine life without it.

Reflections of a lovely sky

Stunning reflection shot!
Have a nice weekend.
we're lucky we're able to see this photo for sale! lovely.
Hi Babs, sorry I'm here pretty late. Things piled up today.
Your sky and its reflection are very pretty. We missed that lake.
Also sorry about your laptop. It sounds like you need it badly.
Happy SkyWatching, thank you for your visit and nice comment.
..
This is really wonderful. What a beautiful lake.
God bless.
Looks like a lovely spot. Glad you survived capsizing. I enjoyed your radioactive rocks in the post above. Good luck to your partner with whatever new journey lies ahead.
I love the reflections in Mooragh lake! Gorgeous!
What a classic! I have yet to make a photograph like this.
Soory to read about your forced swimming into the lake. Seen from here, water don't look so black, they just make an excellent reflection for the Sky.
Very interesting! Almost monochromatic.
I love water reflection photos. This is very nice. Happy Sky Watch!
I wonder if it's changed much over the 5 years. Perhaps that's your next mission, after the poodle poo hunt, to re-take the shot & see how it looks today.
Glad Gary will still be doing the odd job for the Beeb. Perhaps if they got rid of Jonathan Ross altogether, they could afford some more cartoons on a Sunday morning.
nice reflection !
very nice
