Water Circles
Want to see what the other CDP bloggers have in the way of Circles/Spheres. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants. As it's also Monochrome Monday along with CDP Theme Day I combined both themes in one shot as I so often do. As a professional photographer it is something I am used to doing. I wanted to encapsulate the essence of a monochrome image with minimalist stark natural evolved circles. The very obliging swan glided into view. He pressed his blunt beak down into the soft water and then back up for air resplendent in tiny clear water droplets. As the water spheres, the droplets, fell on the liquid they were creating the ripples, perfect circles eminating out from the centre point. The other water spheres, the bubbles, were created from the swan dive earlier too. Pretentious eh, but you get the drift. On the otherhand I could have just said - cricles and spheres, made by a swan. Whichever works best for you.
I guarantee you it will be a wonderful eclectic mix. Remember it just for fun, it's not a photography competition, just a way to show how we all interpret one theme, on one day. It's called fun. Let's have some.
(Regular readers will see I am in a very strange mood presently. It' s called cabin fever. Barker and Babooshka are in need of moving to the South Of France. Photography and artist job anyone?)

Nice photo that works well for both Monochrome Maniacs and Theme Day!
Such an elegant shot of the swan and the water is captured so well.
Cleverclogs this is brilliant! Can Gary still work for the BBC if you are in France?

Ooooh, pretty, pretty, pretty!
Circles and spheres made by a swan works for me! But then I am a simpleton :)
I love ripples in water like this, so simple they are perfect.
Hope you and Gary get out of your cabin soon. Remember your own words, have some fun :)
How obliging of the swan to turn up just them, eh?
This is one of the many reasons I love black and white so much. There's a simple elegance to it, which is typified by your model here. The falling drops, and even the swan's position give it an almost voyeuristic feel that to me is very alluring.
nicely done -- both to you and Mr. Swan.
LB,
I just keep repeating myself knockout! What is theme day? Why France? Stay loose, it will pass. Knockout!
Brilliant! I can only empathise with the cabin fever thing. Stock up on daily pics before you go won't you!

Really nice photo!
Even in black and white, I can still see the reflection clear. So pretty!
My monochrome entry is posted here. Have a great week ahead!
Creative perfection, as always!! Love this, Babooshka.
Babooshka.
All I will say is please stay. This blog is the best advert for the Isle Of Man ever. We can not afford talent like yours to leave our shores. I know you are a come over but I don't hold that against you, you are true Manx in spirit. This is what "Pride of Mann" is all about.
It's the texture that I like, and how you can capture that. And I mean 'you' literally, and kudos. I'm unabashedly just a snapshot gal and understand that real photography is something else, indeed!
A great photo combining two meme's, very cleverly done. Swans are beautiful subjects in photography. You've captured this one perfectly.
Simple shot & my favourite, but beautiful nonetheless.
Thanks for commenting on my MM.
Rings within rings. Lovely swan a swimming, but my, what a careless drinker she/he is. Happy theme day!
Subtle and delicious!
Beautiful!
France? Did someone say France? I am so there B. Let me know when. we will rock their world! woooeeeee.
Love the swan and your take on the theme.. Knew you would do something artsy fartsy....pardon mon francais.
V
good glance
It was necessary to think of the circle of the swan
Very good for me
Considering how cantakerous swans are it was quite lovely that one of them decided to assist you for theme day, Babooshka. I'm more of a minimalist for text although I have been known to write a tome every now and then. Whatever works is right!
Cool interpretation. I like both ideas. MB
this is lovely as usual!!
un très beau portrait en b&w de ce cygne si majestueux
a very nice portrait in b*w of this so majestic swan
This is perfectly lovely. I wonder if swans feel as serene as they look.
Breathtaking....the swan and the circles it created! A lovely photo!
Una foto genial.
A genial photo.
What a brilliant idea ! Amazing...
Love swans - well caught.
I think you will know my feelings about my choice today. Too much sky in the MM site and no detail - I rescanned to level it on a new scanner and lost out.
On LE it is tilted but the better image otherwise.
Simple elegance! Lovely sense of tranquil flow right round and through the whole image!
That is a wonderful image!
Concentric circles are great. Concentric circles made by your swan are the best! Simply lovely take for theme day, Babooshka!
A very elegant and appropriate choice for today's theme. Beautiful.
Babooska, you are SO cool. This is gorgeous. WHat a great idea for theme day.
I'm not worrying about the words, I'm just in love with the photo! Perfect for both memes.
I know this isn't my blog and I hope Babs doesn't mind me sayin to -
Mr T Quayle:
Would you please try tellin that to a few more Manxies, because it ain't gettin through. There are barriers at every turn to anyone tryin to get on here and if you ain't part of the clique you don't stand a chance.
Ah, fabulous! Such a subtle and original way of showing circles. Lovely photo too.
Don't get too excited about the south of France - we've had rain, hail, snow and winds lately! Feel better now?!
Beauty in motion. And theme day in motion.
So beautifully done for the two themes. Lovely graceful swan creating the ripples.
I wanted to combine, but the play-gym was so beautiful in colour, I didn't want to make it monochrome.
Nice combination of two themes! I love to watch swans.
Very original way of doings things. Kudos.
As always, you got the job done with flair! An excellent photo, and since I love swans, this is my favorite theme day photo today.
Speaking of moving - we woke up to another couple of inches of snow this morning...we'll be right behind you, somewhere warm and sunny...
Both theme in one picture with a perfect mastery, Babooshka.
All details are delicate, elegant, and graceful.
You succeeded to slip "life" in your theme where most of us present still life subjects.
What an artistic combination. I'd love to know how you persuaded the swan to do that though..
the weather here's been dire but we'd give you a warm welcome should you choose to transplant..
Wonderful photo. Good words too!!
Truly lovely!
Wow! Simply beautiful.
Wow, that is such a beautful photo. The swan looks like it got a lot on its mind.. and the circles in the water makes the photo come alive. Love it! :)
I've tried taking pictures of these swans on many occasions and all have failed. Your's are always fantastic...Love the detail in this one. France eh, now you're talking.........
As great as always, very well caught.
swanning off to France - surely not - maybe you've been making too many ripples of your own (said entirely in jest in case someone reads these comments too seriously)
Great interpretation!
It's a great idea to combine themes, and I love the way you did this! Beautiful!
Babooshka, that is such a classic. An elegant beauty! Happy Theme Day :)
I can see why you're a professional! And I did appreciate your explanation. :D
Very creative interpretation of the theme! What a lovely photo.
When you need someone to carry your bags to France, just let me know, OK? ;)
Love this picture! The circles created by the water dripping from the beak is a great feature!
I follow your posts regularly and enjoy getting to know the many sides to Isle of Man, where I have never been, but now feeling like going!
Excellent and romantic choice
Wonderful how you posted this lovely photo both for theme day and mono....love the connection. Again, your forte, beautiful animal/bird portraits! Enjoy your week!

Absolutely Agree and thanks for such a wonderful comment on my shot.
I love the tone you produced with this monochrome image and ripple shows gentle and peaceful feels.
How original & different. Well done!
I cannot top the last comment!
But the simplicity of the scene and the tranquility it evokes is just wonderful. Nice B&W & theme day, B.
It's beautiful swan. thanks for visiting mine.
Beautiful image. Are you really moving?
Gorgeous! I love the dripping water.
Stunning. And inspiring. Cheers!
Ooh, well done! One of the best December theme-day shots I've seen yet! Excellent choice and great eye! Love it.
