RAMSEY SWING BRIDGE - MORE HEAVY METAL

Following on from the metal theme - Ramsey Swing Bridge, Ramsey Harbour.

Yesterday was theme name. The theme for those you didn't see it was interpretations of metal around the world. I said in yesterdays post that I took about a hundred images of the bridge. I received a rather strange email saying that it wasn't possible to take so many different images of such a small bridge, and perhaps could I prove it. Oh dear, this person doesn't know me well do they? Obviously haven't seen the blog before!

So, start counting Joe, this is No. 2. As you can see if you compare it to yesterdays shot, it's a very different image. Obviously it's B&W which is the first difference. It's a section of the top of the bridge, not the whole. It's the curve of the arch looking up from the bridge pathway, the pedestrian walkway, nearest to the quayside road side.

So will I rise to this challenge. Well normally I wouldn't post two consecutive images of the same place , but I made an exception today. Tomorrow of course it's critters day, so cute animal or bird will be posted. Stay tuned though for the other 98 bridge shots. Do you think I can do it?

Question is, do you photograph the same image with varying results and why?

excellent coloring and shading. I don't even know what this thing is, but it looks great.

I left this same ,sort of, comment on someone's blog today. In my last photography class, my instructor asked me to take about 15-20 shots of the same subject. WHY??? because she said that after a few that are predictable, but the more your shoot you will find that you become more creative in your thinking. She was absolutely right. I can promise you that I have taken many , many shots of the same places here in Birmingham. Each time I see them in a differnt way nd I tend to think outside of the box the more I shoot. You just keep doing what you are doing. We will look forward to the amazing results.

I like this one best. What lens would I need for this?

Can I email you for some advise on taking baseball photographs.

Looking forward to the shots as they come, Babooshka.

I do the same thing. There is a building at the moment that I am trying to capture light streaming through cracks and broken tiles. So I am trying different times of day to see what I come up with. I have over 20 shots from just two visits thus far.

This person obviously doesn't know you. You are definitely a magnet of some kind!

I routinely take hundreds of shots of the same subject, just as you did with the bridge. Different angles, lighting, time of day, time of year, etc.

I love this photo!

I normally take at least 3 to 6 photos of the same scene from different angles. Sometimes, one photo turn out better than the rest because of the light, the composition and/or the story of the object.

Encore un très bel angle de vue. Cela m'intéresse beaucuoup de voir les différents angles que tu peux utiliser. Bravo !

It's fun to take and see pics of the same subject — they can look so very different depending on the angle, lighting and distance (the whole thing, just a detail), etc.

Looking forward to the other photos of this bridge! And yes, I definitely think you can do it. :)

Love this what a great angle

Hi Babooska, of course it's possible to take photos of the same thing a hundred times. I usually take 3 of 4 shots of what I'm taking. The lighting might improve, or someone moves out of the shot, or the subject might look better from a slightly different angle.

I look forward to seeing the other 98!

Best wishes from Nottingham Daily Photo.

Whoa, at first I thought that this was the Eiffel Tower relocated to Ramsey lol! But no great pic, I would struggle to take something like this with my vertigo!

Talk about angles .. you have such a good idea for making things 'we' see everyday more interesting and certainly more beautiful ... so when you praise my angles, I have to say I am tremendously flattered because I admire your's so much.

If anyone could meet the challenge it would be you! Great photo. I usually try to take multiple shots of the same thing because I find each subsequent photo gets better.

100 sounds excessive to me but then that's me - a dozen is probably the most I'd take. Was photographing some bridges on Friday afternoon so you'll be seeing a few of mine shortly.

Thanks for stopping by. I'm starting to see the same faces on the DCP posts. It's a small world after all. Love the photograph.

why stop at 98 shots?
I'll bet you could double this and still have each one a unique aspect of this bridge. Because your're creative, that's why.
Just sayin'.

Look out... this is how you start more blogsites! LOL. I was thinking after your "100+" comment that maybe you should start a blog of just bridge shots! As I'm learning to let go of my old film mind-set, I'm findig that it's easy and fun to shoot multiple shots of the same subject. As Virginia said, the more you shoot, the more you learn!

I like the lines you have created in both of these bridge photos. I think the black & white conversion suits just fine here.

I look forward to the challenge of seeing what you can come up with!! Here's to the next 98!

Oh, he really doesn't know you! I look forward to you proving him wrong! Great shot.

98 pictures of bridge, and I'm sure they'll all be different. I'm looking forward in seeing them.

What a challenge! This will be GREAT! I will enjoy every one of the 100 - love that bridge. I usually take 3 or 4 shots of the same object and some even from different angles, then I wonder what to do with all the extra photos.

Yesterday you had a good pick for metal and skywatch. But, I love the black and white photo you posted here.

Excellent in B&W. Yes,I do take numerous photos of one subject. WHy? First of all, its digital, and to quote a line from Animal House "Don't cost nothin'". Digital images are free, until we print. Secondly; I never know which image will turn out and which ones won't. Thirdly, Sometimes each image of different lighting, composition, seasonal weather change projects a completely different views that all can be outstanding.

Actually, I am looking forward to the other 98 images.

The photo is superb. And being an amateur, I'm learning from all your comments and write ups.
I'm looking forward to see all your 100 photos.

Hmm, "More" and "Moore" metal. Then I found more for the next day as well although it was rolling stock, or is intended to be anyway :)

This is a very nice graphic image, btw.
