Owl, Arg Beiyn Veterinary Open Day

Not your average high street shopper

Arg Beiyn Veterinary Practice is situated on Parliament Ramsey, Isle of Man. The owl was part of the open day in association with National Pet Week, with joint aims, responsible pet ownership and to raise awareness for the two charities the practice supports, Hounds for Heroes and The Manx Wildlife Trust. A long with the owl, other creatures where out in force from snakes to horses, a fun run, and other attractions like open mic. A chance for all, especially the kids of the town, to meet and learn more about all kinds of animals and the care entailed.

I'd love to see an owl in the wild before I die. This one has pretty coloring...

What a great event and it is good for children to learn about different animals and the care needed. I love the shot of the owl. Carver, ABCW-Team

There is a place near where I grew up that had owls as educational assistance. They'd been injured and couldn't really be released into the wild anymore, but were very good ambassadors of sorts.

I love owls, in fact I love all birds. We live opposite some woodland and there is a family of Owls in residence.
A while ago a rather ancient looking Qwl used to fly over the houses and perch itself on a roof.
It would sit there for ages, just staring down to the ground.. then whoosh, he dived down to the ground and flew off, back to the wood with a vole firmly locked in his beak and repeated this process four times, we guessed he was feeding his Owlets..
We were barbecuing, We could have asked him would he like some baked potatoes to accompany the vole!
We haven't seen him/her for a while, so maybe he's passed on or even moved on!
Best wishes,
Di.x
