MY RAMSEY POSTCARD?- SKYWATCH

Wish you were here?

Skywatch

This definitely wasn't today but a recent image. Sometimes the blue skies benefit from cotton wool clouds. This is one of the harbour from yesterday photographed further out standing on one of the two jetties. I photographed it with the bench slightly in and not tucked into the corner to show you perspective and scale.Wish you were here don't you. On a day like this I'm glad I'm here. What do you think of this as a postcard? It just has that kind of UK seaside look. I may keep this just for me though. I just like it. Simple as that.

So I promised to reveal all today. I was at the Manx Super Third Thursday meeting of the Social Media club concerning the new Social Networking site manxgraduates.im. In a nutshell (Babooshka speak to you) it's place for Manx graduates and Isle of Man employers to find each other and encourage islanders ( think just left University or working in the real world) back to the island for those prestigious jobs. What has that got to me with me, well nothing but the blog is a great vehicle, as it's become so popular, for letting Manxies abroad know they are needed back here. So that's why I had to break cover. You try explaining to people you are Babooshka and no that's not my real name and glaring at the photographer( hypocrite, how bad am I?) for taking your image. Very naughty I took my name off for the photos. At least he had a Nikon. Weird to have people say they follow your blog in person, even weirder telling people not to reveal who I am. It would be easier being a spy!

Anyway I'm back undercover tonight. Many thanks goes to Sherrilynne Starkie from Strive Notes for organising the hoopla and the invite. What you don't know folks is Sherrilynne has been a huge supporter of the blog for a while and it was about time I showed my face at one of these functions. The lure of strong black coffee was all it took.

So safely back home and back to the job in hand of sifting through the images. I'm trying to decide what image to have as a new business card. Also maybe branching out into ghost writing other blogs, paid of course which I've been approached to do. Not sure about this and wondered if any of you writers out there do this at all or know someone who does. Don't even get me started on Consultancy fees. All new to me, how about you? Advice always appreciated.

Skywatch watchers can be found here. Many thanks to Dot for the inspirational idea, Tom for the first care taking and the My world gang for looking after skywatch now.

Wow - this photo is SOOO picturesque, Babooshka! How I would love to visit your part of the world one day! You do such a great job of representing your area.
I know what you mean about how wierd it is meeting people who read your blog...

That's a great picture - wonderful sky.

I hope your glare was suitably withering. My claim to fame, I once got looked at witheringly by Anne Widdecombe. A look to curdle milk, that's all I'll say.

Great shot as always, love the puffy cottonball clouds against the vivid blue. I also like the setting -- looks like a lovely place just to sit and enjoy! Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful day! I whish soooo much for blue sky here to, but it is cloudy and lots of snow, snow, and more snow....... Thank you for sharing the blue sky :)

This photo has such a depth, it's almost as one can see all the way to the other side of the world! Wonderful!

Mojo said...

Well yeah, now that you mention it, I could stand being in that scene.

I have to ask though... would you melt if captured by a Canon? Just in case I ever happen to meet you in the three-dimensional world, I kinda need to know if it's safe ;)

Berit T said...

Yes, I want to bee there!
Beautiful!

Gee whiz..I too have a Canon camera. @:}...I love this photo and I am looking at snow here. I haven't met anyone from online in real life. I can portray myself as this sweet little retired school marm, not the straight forward, sarcastic person I am in real life...LOL...Have a good weekend..who ever you really are... Michelle

The blue sky cheers me up. You always have beautiful pictures! I envy you:)

Wish I WAS there-so beautiful!

Tash said...

The photo is marvy & dreamy & perfectly lovely. This one would lure me to the Isle. It's the one I'd buy to remember the Isle by. (I just read Angela's comment - I did not copy her thought.)
As for ghost writing blogs - sounds like a great way to earn some money for something you enjoy doing and are soooo good at. (I don't really get why someone would want a ghost writer -- isn't blogging all about having a personal creative outlet? - This is just fascinating.)

Actually if it weren't for the sea, that could be a typical day in Okieland with that gorgeous sky.

Congrats on maybe getting an income out of blogging!

Lew said...

Perfect picture for a post card! It looks like a delightful place to sit and watch the tide go out (or come in) or what for the fishing boats to return.

I would enjoy sitting out there on that bench, taking in the day's beauty. In cover, breaking cover, this sounds like the making for the next Bourne movie. No idea about advice, I have trouble enough keeping up with my blog.

I think you just placed Isle of Mann on my "bucket list" with that shot! Thanks for the tip on bench and perspective - I'm going to try that at the first opportunity.

Gosh you are popular, it took me ages to scroll down to the commentbox. But here I am: the picture is lovely, I would love to sit on that bench but it also has something quite lonely about it.

And about the ghostwriting, that's quite an honour I think to be asked that. Whether to do it or not: can't help you there. The only thing I'm ghostwriting is my own blog and that doesn't count ;-)
Good luck with all that! Good for you!
