Wish you were here?
Skywatch
This definitely wasn't today but a recent image. Sometimes the blue skies benefit from cotton wool clouds. This is one of the harbour from yesterday photographed further out standing on one of the two jetties. I photographed it with the bench slightly in and not tucked into the corner to show you perspective and scale.Wish you were here don't you. On a day like this I'm glad I'm here. What do you think of this as a postcard? It just has that kind of UK seaside look. I may keep this just for me though. I just like it. Simple as that.
So I promised to reveal all today. I was at the Manx Super Third Thursday meeting of the Social Media club concerning the new Social Networking site manxgraduates.im. In a nutshell (Babooshka speak to you) it's place for Manx graduates and Isle of Man employers to find each other and encourage islanders ( think just left University or working in the real world) back to the island for those prestigious jobs. What has that got to me with me, well nothing but the blog is a great vehicle, as it's become so popular, for letting Manxies abroad know they are needed back here. So that's why I had to break cover. You try explaining to people you are Babooshka and no that's not my real name and glaring at the photographer( hypocrite, how bad am I?) for taking your image. Very naughty I took my name off for the photos. At least he had a Nikon. Weird to have people say they follow your blog in person, even weirder telling people not to reveal who I am. It would be easier being a spy!
Anyway I'm back undercover tonight. Many thanks goes to Sherrilynne Starkie from Strive Notes for organising the hoopla and the invite. What you don't know folks is Sherrilynne has been a huge supporter of the blog for a while and it was about time I showed my face at one of these functions. The lure of strong black coffee was all it took.
So safely back home and back to the job in hand of sifting through the images. I'm trying to decide what image to have as a new business card. Also maybe branching out into ghost writing other blogs, paid of course which I've been approached to do. Not sure about this and wondered if any of you writers out there do this at all or know someone who does. Don't even get me started on Consultancy fees. All new to me, how about you? Advice always appreciated.
Skywatch watchers can be found here. Many thanks to Dot for the inspirational idea, Tom for the first care taking and the My world gang for looking after skywatch now.

Wow - this photo is SOOO picturesque, Babooshka! How I would love to visit your part of the world one day! You do such a great job of representing your area.
I know what you mean about how wierd it is meeting people who read your blog...
That's a great picture - wonderful sky.
I hope your glare was suitably withering. My claim to fame, I once got looked at witheringly by Anne Widdecombe. A look to curdle milk, that's all I'll say.
Great shot as always, love the puffy cottonball clouds against the vivid blue. I also like the setting -- looks like a lovely place just to sit and enjoy! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful day! I whish soooo much for blue sky here to, but it is cloudy and lots of snow, snow, and more snow....... Thank you for sharing the blue sky :)
Have a nice weekend :)
That bench does make the photo! I definitely want to be sitting there reading a good book and looking out at the view!
Jackie that made me laugh about Anne Widdecombe.
This photo has such a depth, it's almost as one can see all the way to the other side of the world! Wonderful!
Well yeah, now that you mention it, I could stand being in that scene.
I have to ask though... would you melt if captured by a Canon? Just in case I ever happen to meet you in the three-dimensional world, I kinda need to know if it's safe ;)
Yes, I want to bee there!
Beautiful!
Gee whiz..I too have a Canon camera. @:}...I love this photo and I am looking at snow here. I haven't met anyone from online in real life. I can portray myself as this sweet little retired school marm, not the straight forward, sarcastic person I am in real life...LOL...Have a good weekend..who ever you really are... Michelle
I think it would make an excellent postcard! Hey, I have sailed into that harbour from across the sea in Cumbria!
Great phot for sky watch, love the blue sky and fluffy louds.
Les "cotton clouds" sont si gros,si lumineux, si beaux, que les deux phares paraissent tout petits. Belle perspective !
LOVELY scene!
I love every detail in this picture.
Wonderful! :)
Mojo Rambling Woods- you are allowed to sue the Canon only as you know what you're doing.
Babooshka: What a neat photo of the harbor. And here I thought that was your real name. LOL
Great camera angle. I love how the board walk/platform give way to the vast ocean and sky.
Wow that sky is brilliant. Re the consulting stuff, there is a blogger who gives advice. Can't find it at the moment but will keep looking.
Beautiful sky shot.
That is a beautiful photo!
How interesting that you have revealed who you are!
Yes, looks like a great postcard to me.
This photo has a great composition and the pier looks very long. This is a lovely place for walking along the seaside. Thanks for sharing. Happy SWF.
Wow - I'd LOVE to be sitting on that bench!
Great shot!
That would make a great postcard! Of course, I do believe it is okay to keep some favorites just for yourself, too. :)
Impressive blue sky, does look like postcard material!
Babs. My absolute favourite ever. Please put for sale.
It looks as if they are dangling on a string, those lovely low-flying cumulus clouds... in the magnificent blue sky, dramatic lines of the jetty... love it!
Nice fluffy clouds in a blue, blue sky. Nice angle of the harbour too.
Wonderful shot. It would be a perfect post card or enlarged print for that matter.
Good compositió.Impressive blue sky
Most definitely a postcard! Beautiful. I love the lines and the coloration.

The sky looks like it just melts into the water. Beautiful photo. Always envious of scenes like this. Hope you have a wonderful Friday! =)
What lovely clouds - and what a wonderful contrast with the deep blue of the sky!
Very lovely photo! You're right the clouds add a lot to the vivid blue sky, it also shows that you had good timing. =)
Oooo, I love this. You are right, I wish I was there. Love to sit on the lone bench and admired the nice weather and the scenery. Have a nice weekend.
My image of you has just been crushed!! I absolutely thought you were a SPY!!!
Awesome post card, and so beautiful, yes, keep it for yourself.
I wish I were there, too. What beautiful BLUE skies! We have been getting nothing but gray here. Happy Weekend. :)
Great picture. Blue sky and soft clouds and that little sunshine ...
Today it started snowing ... brrr.
Erwin.
What a beauty! This could have been taken somewhere abroad, well I suppose it is to me - sort of!
Thanks for commenting while I've been AWOL, much appreciated.
Looking back through your posts I see your link to Brett, his photography is amazing. I discovered him a while back and I'm in awe.
This is a wonderful photo, it makes me feel like taking a seat waiting for a great ship to arrive.
Happy SWF.
Are you sure that's England? It looks like the sort of sky we should have here, but don't right now.
Yup .. wish I was there. But, here in Malaysia, our sky is always like that. And yup ... that makes a perfect postcard.
Knockout again B. If this is the Jetty do you have photos from the end of it?
Most definately cotton wooly clouds!
Such a change of scenery from our winter scenes here!
This would definitely make a wonderful postcard. It's beautiful.
Looks like a great place to be, sitting on the bench, in a postcard.
I think it's cool to meet people in real time who read me in blog time.
I like this picture. Beautiful sky.
On the strength of that image I'd visit the IOM.
Ghost writing blogs eh. I never thought of that one..
The blue sky cheers me up. You always have beautiful pictures! I envy you:)
Wish I WAS there-so beautiful!
The photo is marvy & dreamy & perfectly lovely. This one would lure me to the Isle. It's the one I'd buy to remember the Isle by. (I just read Angela's comment - I did not copy her thought.)
As for ghost writing blogs - sounds like a great way to earn some money for something you enjoy doing and are soooo good at. (I don't really get why someone would want a ghost writer -- isn't blogging all about having a personal creative outlet? - This is just fascinating.)
Actually if it weren't for the sea, that could be a typical day in Okieland with that gorgeous sky.
Congrats on maybe getting an income out of blogging!
Perfect picture for a post card! It looks like a delightful place to sit and watch the tide go out (or come in) or what for the fishing boats to return.
gorgeous
My entry for SWF this week : in HERE. Hope you have time to visit . Thanks
Yes i sure do wish i was there, this is a fabulous shot.
What a beautiful sky!
Absolutely awesome photo. The blue is brilliant compared to the white clouds. The picture actually looks like a painting.
so beautiful photo ;)
Yes, you can make a postcard of your photo! It looks very beautiful!Have a nice weekend!
I love white fluffy wool clouds; we don't see many very often in Arizona but when we do, I am in heaven.
superbe composition pour la photo et ce ciel si magnifique
superb composition for the photo and the sky so beautiful
Wish that was here.
Lovely view - reminds me a little of both Whitby and Warnemunde - I knew a ghost writer once but I digress and it was a world away.
Yup, very beautiful skies. Wish I was there indeed..Thanks for showing and for visiting.
indeed a picture postcard! brilliant blues!!!
Wooo, this is pretty! Almost surreal!
Great photo with great colours & sky. I would love to be there :)
Great contrast between the blue and white....I love cotton ball clouds.
Finally a blue sky, I'm happy for you! Excuse me if I'm dense, but what's the point of having a blog if someone else writes it?
I read you blog a lot fro your writing. I think you would make a great ghost writer for someone else's blog if the content is right.
Wow .. 75 comments. May I add another one? I love the color. The shades of blue are just lovely. It's a nice shot.
Yes I would like to sit there....
I soooo want to be there - sitting in that bench and just looking out into the sky and water. This picture will surely make it a great postcard, though I understand you wanting to keep it for yourself.
Have a fabulous undercover weekend :)
Great shot again, Babooshka.
I like the lines and the depht in your photo. It's always nice to see these soft and fluffy clouds drift in a clear blue sky.
Enjoy your weekend!
Beautiful. Just the spirit lifter that is needed right now!
Really nice picture, make me missing the summer.
Your blog always makes me wish I were there. And inspires to me to be proudly photographing and writing about where I am! Thanks.
I would enjoy sitting out there on that bench, taking in the day's beauty. In cover, breaking cover, this sounds like the making for the next Bourne movie. No idea about advice, I have trouble enough keeping up with my blog.
I think you just placed Isle of Mann on my "bucket list" with that shot! Thanks for the tip on bench and perspective - I'm going to try that at the first opportunity.

Takes me back. Brilliant.
Gosh you are popular, it took me ages to scroll down to the commentbox. But here I am: the picture is lovely, I would love to sit on that bench but it also has something quite lonely about it.
And about the ghostwriting, that's quite an honour I think to be asked that. Whether to do it or not: can't help you there. The only thing I'm ghostwriting is my own blog and that doesn't count ;-)
Good luck with all that! Good for you!
Fantastic post for Sky Watch! Great light and contrast in this picturesque image.
Thanks for your visit to my blog.
I wished I would be under such a blue sky with fluffy clouds !
Beautiful sky with clouds, and I like the bench inclusion.
Funny that you're undercover on your blog! You are a good tour guide for your area.
Um, yes I do! I'll be walking along that pier now... lovely!
Oh yes, wow, clear skies, puffy white clouds,, umm, inviting.. I can feel the sun against my skin alredy! Beautiful!
love it! wish i were there with a big sandwich and a book. :)
I would love to be sitting right there beside you having some girl talk and maybe a sip???? Great shot B. WOW!

PS Put this one on your card and do a vertical card.
I dont have to add more comments here, the amount tells how lovely your photos is that everyone left their 2 cents worth! It surely is a beautiful postcard!
A day for sunglasses for sure.
Wow, that blue and white POP!
Postcard perfect!
Babooshka, this is a magnificent view. The sky is playing a happy game with its wonderful fleecy clouds.
Hey, I get to be comment 100!
I like the shot, especially the way you have pulled the bencj into the photo! It does look like a post card, with the clouds and the bright blue sky!!
Yep, you're right, of course. One of your favorites is now one of mine too. You have too many exceptional images to pick just one favorite, but this one is right at the top. Thanks for all, Baboosh!
Fotunately, this day, Manannan had decided to leave its protection !
That way you can offer us this Heavenly scene. We need such sight at this time of the year. We long for Blue sky.
Wow! Great clouds! How did you get them to pose for you?
Oh my gosh! I really DO wish I was there! Gorgeous!!!
For me this is an eerie image. The emptiness and the eternal sunshine are of another world. I wish I was here to drown in this perfect scene.
it just doesn't look real...sigh...
Wonderful pic. I love days like that.
Wow1 Incredible photo, just about as perfect as you could get.
i definitely wish i was there! it's really beautiful!
I'm so glad so many of you liked this image. Have to say it's probably my favourite skywatch so far. Thanks all for the comments and thanks in advance for all those to come.
Very summery. Just like here in NZ, right now.
Well the sky here is very blue and great captured also. I think we say that the sky on Isle of Man and in Norway are the greatest. ;)
So clean and bright and breezy and yes, iconic British seaside. Lucky you!
OMG! It took me nearly 13 minutes to scroll to the bottom of the comments! Congratulations, uh, Babooshka LOL!! Sounds like you've got a bowlfull and will be keeping busy!
