The Manx 100 is a testing mountain bike event. Competitors enter either the 100 miles or 100 km of endurance cycling. Over road, mountains, bike trails. It is not for the faint hearted or Sunday cyclist. This event is aimed at experienced endurance mountain bikers, both local and oversees cyclists taking part. The road signage is minimal, the course is bleak in parts, exposed to the elements, and over rough terrain in other areas. This is the island that has produced world class cyclists, such as Mark Cavendish and Peter Kennaugh. Mark Cavendish has often said, that the Isle of Man is where he learned to ride, and ride to world class standard, as they are the toughest courses in the world.

Exciting/exhausting.
This is only for the brave-hearts.
I have been to the Isle and experienced the thrills and daring of the speed demon motor cyclists! In fact, a young man was killed at the end of the street from where we were watching. This might be better as it's endurance and not the spills of the other race.

Definitely not for the faint of heart!
I love the IOM but not much fun in being behind a 'clutch' of cyclists when you're late for a dinner date,
Eventually we carefully overtook them and the b.....s banged on the roof of our car, so not impressed, I don't mind but they don't even pay road tax...grrrr,
Sorry rant over, Di.
That does indeed look tough and not for the faint of heart.
