Ramsey Swing Bridge 22 in view
Ramsey Swing Bridge 22 in view
You know what day it is on the blog circuit. Yep! the one where we all crane our necks to get that particular image of the sky above and beyond, lost horizon, or in the clouds. For those in the elusive club though that grace my ever so 'umble blog with your presence we have the other special day. Wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more and don't forget the secret handshake. All I can reveal is we are up to number 22(or in the terms of bingo speak two little ducks, whatever that means) of the game we know as 100 images, 1 subject. Or how I am slowly going mad photographing the same metal structure over, and over, and over again from many (so, so, many) different... wait for it perspectives, angles, compositions and of course juxtaposition just to prove a point. The point being it can be done, they can all be individual unique images and you can stay sane. Not actually sure about the last one. So here it is 22, oh so blue, with a bird atop the bridge girders too.
I'm sure the other bridge photos will pop up at bottom of the post for you to compare eventually. If it's skies you're after click here to take you on a mini tour of Skywatch.

Image is low res and yes very small version. I think I have explained enough now why.
Fab blue sky, Babooshka, and this is definitely an angle on the Ramsay Swing Bridge I haven't seen before! Great, abstract composition that suits the metal lines and those stark colours. We are in a more your grey skies all day every day sort of period on the Island at the opposite end of England...
Janice.
Once again - the foreground makes the picture...
PS And it is not Spam...
That is such a striking shot. I love the composition.
Yip, it's your favourite bridge - great photo!
I have seen more than 22, but I guess you mean 100 from when you started counting. Right? Cool.
That is a brilliantly blue sky! And what a terrific capture! You always have such marvelous composition and never fails to inspire me, Babooshka.
Have a great weekend!
Sylvia
Great photo with nice composition. Have a great weekend.
Smiles
Has anyone else lot their link within images on their post? It's there on the template but not on the post. Weird.
Great shot!!
Love the composition.
I actually put up a post of the same motive earlier today :)
An interesting photo which makes me feel good! I like it! Have a beautiful weekend! :-)
Love the shotof your swing bridge, when you asked if we knew what it was, I thought it may have been a roller coaster viewed from below.
Then I wondered why the bird would stay there.
Have a great weekend.
Lovely blue sky!
You know I was thinking recently that I take most of my sunset shots from my yard and was thinking I should go for a ride or something but I'm going to follow your lead and see how different I can make the same little piece of space.
Bowledover and I were both on the same wavelength. I just couldn't see how you could get under a roller coaster up high for the shot but I was thinking YOU might have found a way. ;)
Gotta love your bridge shots, Babooshka! (Yes, I really do.) How come your sky is so blue? It must have bee a gorgeous day.
I love this one! I know the feeling of taking a picture again and again, from different angles etc.
PS Thank you for commenting and you're lucky to know St Paul de Vence well, I must say. A beautiful place.
Brilliant capture
and
description.
I know all about shooting lots and lots of pictures.
Some motives deserves it as well!
It is great FUN! ;))
Happy Sky Watch!
Ahh yes, a combo shot. Glad you could kill two birds with one stone, just hopefully not the one of the bridge. wink.
Have an awesome week!
EG- We have gone from tremendous downpours to vivid cloudless blue skies within the space of a week. Never fails to amaze me how no two days are the same here.
Heh... Just one problem. At this resolution, the bird poop doesn't show. But hey you got the bird in there, and where you find one you almost always find the other so I guess the bird poop is implied, yeah?
And you know once this guy has been replaced by one of those generic high rise numbers, the studios are gonna come to you for views of the old Swing Bridge when they start setting movies in Olde Ramseye. You'll be rich!
You remember how I said I should take the Babooshka challenge in my Monochrome Monday post? Well by a scheduling quirk I have yet another photo of Price Lake in my Monochrome Friday post.
Of course, I rather suspect it's a lot easier to get 100 views of a lake than of a bridge. So I'm thinking I should find a smaller subject. Wish I could find out who owns that abandoned Pullman Car in the siding that I've shot a couple of times. I could have a field day with that.
I thought it was a rollercoster too.
Thought we'd past 22 some time ago. Seems like ages since you put one on. Nottingham's weather is a bit unpredictable at the moment. Rained yesterday, all day; today sun & bluish sky, now while I'm writing this, it's raining again.
Being a blog of note seems to have done my site a bit of good. Have a lot more followers now and more messages. So thanks for that. Didn't know such a thing existed.
Gm- When I was blog of note it went mad. Beware of the spammers though.
This was worth every shot you took. Perspective, composition, angle - they're all great.
We all appreciate what went into getting that shot and you even combined a bit of bird watching for good measure. Thanks for sharing your view of the sky.
hmmm ... only 68 more to complete your task -:)
Our old friend turns 22! How time flies. I don't think i am physically or mentally up to photographing 100 post boxes! But another blog another day - who knows!
Great sky watch and (secret handshake) other 'thing'.
Isle of Man dating hope so. I am hoping to meet the man of my dreams here. 6 months work placement. Nice blog.
From this angle the bridge looks a bit like a big old spider :)
Lovely blue sky above that bridge! Cheers-
Structure, perspectives, angles, compositions. And Poetry on your photos indeed.

Nice, very nice. I happen to love bridge-structures and as it so happens I placed a pic of one myself today!
It's only a small one though. The bridge I mean.
When you get to 100 get the champers out.
Beautiful!!
Your tenacity is a thing of beauty, and so are your outstanding pictures. I like the way you captured this. Love that light.
Don't get me wrong your photography is excellent but I come for the writing. I like it best when you are ranting, so funny.
Swing bridges are so neat to watch as they open. Come to think of it, they might be fun to take a ride on too :D
I like the composition of this with the bright blue sky and the structure of the bridge.
Under the blue sky those white railings of the bridge are superb. Nice shot.
A bridge over troubled water??!
great contrasts, - love the deepness of the blue.
Pretty! I liek that little guy up there.
The best things need to be photographed from every possible angle.
Gorgeous blue sky and great detail on the bridge!
Congratulations on view #22. It's just as glorious as the first.
That's the bluest blue I've seen out your way.
Sydney - City and Suburbs
Fine angle and lovely colors.
Beautiful! I love the way you chose not to have the rest of the bridge on the picture ;)
If anyone has an anonymous comment with the letters in seo in the text just delete it. It's just very nasty spam.
This is what Royal Blue is... Really Royal !! Nice picture..
Fantastic shot. The blue sky above the bridge is very nice.
That little bird just makes this photo for me. Oh, and that gorgeous blue sky! ;)
Beautiful composition. I love the contrast between the bridge and the sky.
Gorgeous clear blue sky. The bridge looks very clean in parts and I love the angle. Hope you didn't risk life and limb getting this shot!
Fabulous, I really like it. The sky never seems to get that colour down south, for some reason.
I got it! Is it a mechano set? ;)
p.s. thanks for the comment today Babooshka
Love your bridge photo challenge you have set for yourself! And this one looks most intriguing! Stairway to heaven with a slight kink/bow in it?
(Sorry! It's been a super busy week and now that it's Friday, I feel a bit dotty! I haven't even had a drink!)
Dramatic POV here. Interesting way to shoot it.
You havent gotten hit yet standing on that bridge?
brilliant blue and superb composition! loved it!
I like the unusual angle!
Love the color and the perspective.
LL
LOL, what MOJO said about the bird poo! I love how clear and blue the sky is and how there is just a hint of the bridge framing it and one lone bird peeking out to say hello.
Good way to capture the sky photo with the steel structure in the background. It is the bridge.:) Have a nice weekend.
I do love your bridge shots. (I have a bridge near that could easily stand in for the same 100 images, i subject!)
and how can you not look up with such a brilliant blue sky?
Love all that ironongery against the clear blue sky.
Great picture. My guess you will never be able to finish with new versions of that bridge. ;)
I see the other photos of the bridge. How many times a day does it swing?
Slowly becoming familiar with the bridge. Have plenty of time to get to know it really well.
Ah, how I've missed the bridge. Great shot of a clear blue sky. How about looking straight up while laying down on the bridge deck. As long as you could stop traffic that is. Another great capture.
I love pictures of bridges. This is a great shot.
What an intriguing idea. I wonder If I could find something interesting enough to take 100 photos of. I can see how a bridge just might do, but we have few architecturally worthy ones on this island and none close to where I live.
Having read the other 74 comments (73 discounting the japanese spammer) I've forgotten what I was going to say!
on to #23 - at this rate #100 will be Christmas 2011
Crisp and clear, very cheerful.
Thanks for the greetings.
The sky is very blue
The sky is very blue
Gerald- The spam is really bugging me. It's why I turned comments off for a while. Back on now though. See how it goes.
No matter what you always share good photos for us to savor.
Nice. Love the bridge shot.
great images are great regardless of their resolution; it'd be the larger the better, though.
Thanks for sharing. :)
I thought it was a roller coaster. Great angle!
And your post made me giggle, too. You're very funny. :)

Thanks for the Juxtaposition #22. Now I will wait for Untitled #23.
I just wonder if cars go there too on the bridge and have you ever had close calls with cars as you clearly are constantly looking at the wrong direction. Maybe you have covered this subject before?
Add another B---Beautiful!! MB
Fantastic...just the colour we are longing for here in London ;)
Nice one!
THat shot I had of Middle Harbour - that's just a small branch off-shoot of the main Sydney Harbour....yeah, it's a sizeable waterway for sure!
Thanks for visiting.

That I call a blue sky !!
Great photo, love going over bridges and looking up at the sky.
The golden bridge (13 of 100) was absolutely gorgeous, as is this one. Maybe someeday I'd think of trying 100 pix of one thing, but I do know that my bridge photos all look different! I find it fun to look at them. Funny we both did metal bridges today.
Great shot! Very creative.
great sky photo, Babooshka. so blue! and i think that's a pigeon!
thank you for droppin by my entry this weekend.
Happy Sunday!
Perhaps it's the girders of the bridge that bring it out, but what I noticed about the sky is the way the blue shades from paler at the bottom to darker at the top. Very subtle.
Both are beautiful, the blue sky and the bridge.
I could post hundreds pics of our lakes or pets, may be I'll try with our so small bridges around, I'll think about it.
What about 100 of the pier next before it sinks into the sea.
Thanks again. Apologises if your comment got deleted, but I do get a lot of spam now for skywatch. Have to be careful.
Ever had a near-religious experience in a pub with a barkeep? It COULD happen!
Babooshka: A neat look at a great sky over the bridge.
No 5 is my favourite. This is my second.
