The boys are back in town
The G letter shot
The G letter shot
You thought you were safe here didn't you, I mean you thought those noisy motorbikes had left the island after the TT. Well you are right they had. So what's with choosing more bikes again for the lettter. Well what we have this week is the Manx Grand Prix. Well what we should have. You know that rain that just won't stop here, well it's still going on an on an on, unlike the motorbikes which are crashing and coming to standstills. So apologies but this is an archive of the race a few years ago. Does give me the chance to show you something about the image. The red number plates.
So what's special about those then you ask. They indicate that this is a practise race. So there. I may not be able to show you any racing from the Grand Prix just yet(or at all working elsewhere) from this year but you got to learn something. Riveting eh! Oh yes the rider with number 2, Shane Connor. Now more stuff you don't know. See this image. Well the high res version large frame of this image hangs on the very wall of the very room of the very hotel he stayed in, and I , yes I have held his winning garland. Now that would have been a great G shot.

Great shot, Babooshka! Sorry about your weather, we're having some of the same stuff here and fall is almost here! I thought summer just arrived????
Sylvia
Will there be any racing tomorrow B?
Dave, Annie,
Your guess is a good as mine. Check Manx Radio and online the, news. Better yet just look out your hotel window. If it's raining....
How could you tire of seeing these blokes on bikes - or have I just got a thing for leathers?;-)
Perfect balance!
Truly amazing the way they lean into a curve! Great shot of the excitement!

What have I got to say to all of that? Well golly and gee whiz. Great post and sorry the rain is ruining the Grand Prix.
I did mean Steptoes.
Chez put me onto you. I'm not net friendly.Sheep farmer's wives don't need the interenet. You can send me a message via Chez on friends. I'm in Australia now. It must be 23/24 years give or take?
Not found any photos of you?
Take care
Sonia.
Wonderful capture!
Amazing shot. Both of them balanced in that impossible tilt. I love the expressions on the faces of the on-lookers and the impenetrable visors of the racers.
Must be a lot of fun. good for you to have such a nice image and been hung in the very hotel that he stays in, you should have him autographed it.
Great action shot!
They say practice makes perfect, and I guess that goes for photography too. At least here!
Yep, it was the anniversary of hubbys cousin last week, practice race too, over 30 years ago...:-(
Windy corner has been altered since then.....
I can hear the races so it must be on today. Sorry too noisy for me, but I do like your photos.
That's a great shot indeed! Very impressive too! Thanks for the extra information and also for your visit to my humble gnome. I am sure he has some relatives on the Isle of Man. They live near that hotel of yours!!
Hi Babooshka,
I have left you an award on my blog, however if it is not your thing feel free to ignore it ;)
Beautiful racing shot.
Here, beautiful days announce Spring!!

I really need to see one of these races in person, they look exciting.
Great action shot! Sorry about all the rain; it's a pain when it cancels an activity that everyone has been looking forward to.
Also sorry about Mr. Mcklinky; I'm no help in that department, but everyone seems to be carrying on in spite of it.
Think you've just sent that weather over our way. Am always happy to look at more of your TT shots. This one is great.
Seeing this shot blown up and on the wall would be wonderful!
Sherry
I can see why it's on a hotel wall. I think all your phots should be.
Congratulations on your POTD mention! Your photos are so racy! (Get it?)
I just crack myself up sometimes!
You have quite the knack of catching just the 'right' moment ... congrats on your POTD mention!
Great shot.
It's hard to believe the bikes don't fall over at that angle because they appear to be standing still...sort of. ;-)
Feel free to display all the bike shots you like B. I for one, never get tired of them. 'Specially not the way you capture them.
great shot and very cool that it hangs on a hotel wall.
Hi Babooshka, wow! Nice pic. And the Isle of Man TT?
I love this races.
I still remember Mike Hailwood, Phil Read of the 60's.
As well when the first Hondas appeared. First year they came out I think 3rd and 5th placings.
And everyone amazed and shocked at the screaming sounds it made VS the Norton Manx (I love this bike!)
and BSA's, Ariels, Truimphs.....
I guess no other races can come close to the TT here.
Pity I got no chance to see these races where I am now.
Then the 3rd year, Hondas swept every TT race.
Love that Bangalore corner and the mountain wit their mists and really fantastic to see bikes at full throttle heading for these corners.
Incidentally I used to own Ducatis (2), a Yamaha 250, as well a Norton Twin 500.
Sure miss these bikes.
You have a nice day, best regards, Lee.
ps, my dream is to buy an old Norton Manx....just to ride it and hear that beautiful Manx sounds.
'G' is also for GREAT.... thats what I was thinking when I saw your name pop up in my comments today... Great post... great blog... great gal... and great to have you back from France...
Just send the money you promised for my great comment .... Fat & Friendly PO Box 22.. ;o)

It's a real shame that your followers don't like the bike shots at all and certainly not old ones at that. Actually, I'd say it's a resounding vote for this G shot and any other great shots you (or the hotel) have hanging about. Nice post! (From Florida, so sorry about your rain.)
An illustration of riding along...
They are both at the same angle..
Nice shot.
Beautiful shot. I hope you are able to get some races done between the rainstorms.
Bab. I caught up on your back posts. I thought the pier and text was terrific. I am not much of a motorbike guy. The noise scared me terribly as a child. Probably have never overcome it. I like the way you have capture the angle and energy.
The riders execute with great skill in those turns, but you have the right stuff too, Baboosh, and bring it all home with those super captures.
Hope your weather clears!
Great photos here of the bikers we get a lot of bikers at the motel, ,those are some neat bikes too.
Great pics as usual! I didn't know that about the red plates! But then, I've never been on the island when the races are on, so why would I? LOL!
Must be an exciting time!
This is a powerful action shot!
Cheers all.
Not out today, but will be photographing Friday racing.
I can hear the engines now. excellent shot. I am glad you enjoyed the cactus on my site.
Thrilling shot of aggressive motorcyclists.
Dad was in Ramsey for the Manx... and all he brought me back was a t-shirt! Hehe :) Great shots.
