Zero Tolerance

Cheats, thieves and liars I swear will be dealt with.

I usually have Zen for Z, but I am feeling most non Zen like. Instead I thought I would tell you all about a little known by law here about swearing or should I say not swearing on the streets and other Zero Tolerances. In fact not just swearing but saying anything that could be deemed offensive to another person. Seriously, tell my camera and I to shove off in a very discourteous manner alluding to multiplying the population whilst traveling then I could march you too the the local Police Station and have you arrested. So there. Certain parts of the town to have ZT when it comes to speed limits too and don't get me strated on litter louts. So next time you find yourself on Parliament Street above remember don't swear, be rude, drop litter or drive at breakneck speed(or park on those double yellow lines come to that!) as you could just find yourself in hot water at the local nick.

Zero tolerance too applies to thieves, especially those that steal photographs and images like mine above delete the copyright and pass them off as their own. Even worse are world dominating organizations who rip off small websites like yours and mine and fail to respond to polite contact re payment or removal of the image they are using. Taking a leaf out of my town's book, I will too be applying my own Zero Tolerance.

For more Z words by others see here.

Wow, 'shove off in a very discourteous manner alluding to multiplying the population'. Brilliantly put. Bit of a mouthful, but still...

Great post, love the image of the street, and so if I suddenly find myself there, and as I am want to do on a rare occasion after the stubbing of a toe, say any rude word in your part of the world, I get taken off to see the inside of the local nick? There is word jail in your part of the world?

Hmm... I wonder who this WDO is? Care to enlighten?

Incidentally, you might be interested in knowing that "Zen Buddhism" was adapted from the usual pacifistic kind by the Shoguns of ancient Japan who liked the concepts of Buddhism, but weren't willing to give up the sword for it. So they nicked the parts they liked an heaved the rest over the side.

Talk about copyright infringement!

Lastly, I gotta say I plan to swipe your "shove off in a very discourteous manner alluding to multiplying the population" lock stock and barrel. I'll give credit when there's time -- if I don't have to run for it. I can't run and spout a citation of source at the same time. (I'm old dammit!)

Mojo - anytime you wanna swipe just let me no.

Name and Shame time

I would support your kind of ZT, not sure about the dam the town's though. Oops, did I swear?

It's a great capture, most certainly worth being paid for by the thieves in question.

Shame on Virgin Media !!!

Stealing images is not okay ..it is theft, plain and simple. You go get 'em !!!

Great shot , btw...

That is another thing that I miss about new Zealand ...the streets line with shops. So relaxing to take a stroll down and window shop..

Here, they have malls ... ugly things, especially at Christmas and during sales.

I'm not surprised by Virgin Media - a load of w******!

On a lighter note - what a lovely colourful street :)

I didn't know that the Isle of Man was part of Russia. Talk about a totalitarian state. Mind you not swearing in public should be encouraged. I often hear words that come from small children that should remain on the building site or factory.

As for stealing and cheating, there are also crawlers who feeds Chinese and maybe others with photos of paintings, which they then choose from and paint in "buckets" for then selling to superstores for about nothing. The frame is the most expensive part. Copyright is just a word. As said in the above comments; go get 'em. My dark side is all with you!

sur internet et sur le vol des photos, c'est 100% tolérance ;o( et après il est très dur de ce faire entendre et d'avoir raison ;(

I vote for aero tolerance for dishonesty anyday. Thanks for the interesting post about the belly dancers. I attended a talk recently where the pyschologial benefits of belly dancing were cited. But I think I shall stick to brisk walking and a good chat!

Ex VM empoloyer. The images are probably just trawled, collected and used via the site. Not aware of the situation happening before so no advise that could help you there. They are a cowboy outfit to work for so this does not surprise me. You need to find a contact name direct in customer complaints. Go into a V. Megastore and ask to speak to a manager who may be able to provide this. You will get nowhere on the net. It is designed this way so you have no contact with real people. Good luck, you'll need it.

If I ever visit the Isle of Man, I will have to remember to watch what I say:) I'm sorry to hear about your photos being stolen. Copyright laws were enacted for a good reason; unfortunately, the internet has made so many crimes easier to get away with.

Rob Siemann said...

Wow! In my part of France, Alsace, we still have some german laws dating from Medieval times. It is still forbidden to swear in a public place (30 days in jail and 50 lashes), to kiss or hold hands in a public space (same 30 days, same 50 lashes). As those laws have never been canceled, they are still... law.
But... plenty of tolerance. I don't think anyone was arrested for this in the last couple of centuries. This is now France, after all (yeah, I know: clichés not dead!)!

Zero tolerance for rude would be nice too.
Looking forward to round 5.

I don't know what it is of yours they've nicked, but people like Facebook have small print which allows them to do stuff without asking you first. You sign everything away by using the site. I don't put anything I value on there.

Jane Hards Photography said...

Jay. It's not Facebook that's thieving images, that's where people can find out what's going on.

Yes all will be revealed this week.

I'm quite low on tolerance now, too. Good luck with catching up with all your work and gaining some restitution.
