Water view sunset

Wonder if Terry meets Julie?

Skywatch

I was going to give you a pun laden sunset cliche post tonight. Afraid it's post and run. So you'll have to gaze on my water view sunset and just feel like your in paradise. Yes of course on a Friday night. We don't get them like this often. If you have been following the blog now for a while then you may recall those Ramsey harbour sunsets last year. Have a search of the blog for them if you like. The dirty old river looks like it's swathed in purple and pink satin, but it's just the sundown reflecting the light. I'm so lazy I don't want to wander to far from this image tonight but I'm afraid I have a little problem again. Put it this way I have a fly to squat.

For those have followed the progress my other little photo problem is well and truly sorted. Excellent outcome. Today though I have another. You can imagine how fed up I feel. As always the little bird on my finger icon, on the right of this page will take you to another well known site that will have the details later tonight.

Well I stay at home tonight. More little kinks to iron out(got to that one in somewhere)on the "hey this photo belongs to me front." Anyone would think I'm a charity. So Water view sunset I will leave you with to gaze upon, my harbour paradise and yes those colours are natural and no I won't show bigger images anymore, ever now and someone else other than me can explain why to the new commers in the comments please.

Hello Everyone, Please read this.

Really sorry about the small image but most of you know the trouble I have which I am happy to say has been resolved. Yes I will be paid for the image ans it has been taken off the site. I hate to tell you all this but it has happened again elsewhere. Not just one image but several in the same place all from "ramsey daily photo."have been used without payment or permission as clearly stated. I am hoping to resolve this one a little more quietly. If this continues I am afraid I will close the blog and take every image of the net. I cannot stress enough each time an image is reprinted, re used, copied, etc without payment to myself I loose money and I simply can't afford this as a photographer, not a hobby blogger. As always Facebook will keep you updated.

Really sorry again for the small image.

Thanks for reading

B

I'm glad to hear that the first one is sorted out and equally sad that a new one is coming instead. Good luck with the new one You are fighting for all of us - even the amateurs. Maybe it is best to return to paper in frames on the wall.

Glad to know that the first one was resolved. Good luck on the other cases.

This image is excellent.

good to hear you had one positive outcome...congrats. and i am hoping the second will work out the same. would hate not to see your posts...so i hope that things are resolved in a positive manner.

Glad the first one is settled, sorry there's another -- price you pay for being a brilliant photographer, I guess ;)! I'll continue to follow on Facebook. This is a stunning shot regardless of being small and the colors are gorgeous!

Kick back with a JD and enjoy the weekend, Babooshka!

I love todays image, it's beautiful.
As for the thieves.....Way to go you! I hope you get this latest lot sorted out too.

Mojo said...

Rune's right, you're fighting for us all -- and we've got your back Babs. But I'm happy to hear you got the prior problem resolved at least. I hope you don't wind up quitting the blog. That would be a loss to us all -- especially when there's images like this one to see here. So if you need me to break some legs...

I for one would deal with it just fine if you slapped a big old copyright watermark across the middle of your shots on the blog. I know you don't want to because it detracts from the image, but you gotta do what you gotta do, right?

What I have to ask is how you manage to find these pirates in the first place. I mean unless you have a network of spies working for you scouring the corners of the web looking for pilferage, how do you even know they've boosted your images? I'd really like to know and I'm sure a lot of other people would too. Because we all have a dog in this fight, y'know?

The shot is no less stunning because of its size, B. You are quite talented, and so I hope you will be able to contintue with this blog. I enjoy your photos so!

A few rotten apples in the barrel spoil things. You seem to have had a few too many at you end though.

Love the capture and even small its wonderful.
Be well.

This photo is utterly glorious! The atmosphere of fading lights is quite "feelable" even in this smaller photo!

Really glad your first tension was sorted quickly! Hope it sets a benchmark for all those who think it's OK to steal photos from the net!

I'm really glad to hear that the first problem have been resolved, I hope this will be too!

I'm ALL behind you.
Is it anything we can do to help (I don't have Facebook)
Because I believe many troubles starts in that place when it comes to pictures.

Gorgeous capture!!
And I really love the colours :)

Have a great weekend!

Great photo - as always. Happy to hear your issue has been resolved. Very upsetting that photos can be stolen in this way. At least you knew about it and could follow it up. How many of us do not know and will never found out ......

This is another delightful sunset you have for us... it's a beauty.

Now the other:... I am glad you got paid by the first company.. and it really saddens me to hear you are concidering stopping blogging. I fully understand your reasons but what a loss to us all you would be... not just the 'Daily' bloggers... but all who stop be here for your pictures, writing, information, banter and laughter... It will be a very sad day if it comes to this.

Mojo- Lots of things to do. I only got wind of this one today because someone else sent me a link and it went form there.

Things to do to find your images.

Google alerts. Log into a google account if you have one and set up a google alerts on key words.

ie- "Ramsey Daily Photo"
Babooshka
"Isle of Man"

Just as an example. I have others. This will highlight anywhere that has these phrases and were there are phrases are usually images.

Copyscape- sign up to that shows duplicate posting.

Try this link to check out and test anyone of your images. Thanks to Chuck in Seattle for this one.

http://tineye.com/

It is a tremendous tool.

Check under Google MORE button on the homepage and click BLOGS to check out others.

General search images - The most random but can be the most effective.
Try keywords you have used on one of your posts, like " beach, sunset harbour, ramsey." You might be very surprised where your image could turn up. As you know I was.

Hope this helps.

Tom - Our paths crossed commenting. You have been with me way back when I had about 5 readers. Fun then. None of this nonsense. I know you understand more than anyone re your own issues. It just gets so draining when as you know I'd much rather be having a laugh here than constantly have to guard my livlihood.

Nice, I like the sunset on the harbor hiding the murky waters.
Glad you got it worked out with Virgin. If you weren't such a good photographer I suppose this wouldn't happen. Good luck on this next round.

Beautiful sunset, Babooshka. So sorry to hear about the photo thieves. I've been thinking of putting a signature on each one I put on the blog - lots of people do that - but it takes more time and really spoils the image for everyone who just wants to enjoy. I can tell from searches that people are lifting specific images from my blog. If only they would ask I would almost certainly give them permission, provided they credited me - might even email a better quality version. I don't know how you've found out about these two - but if you know about two there are probably more out there. I hope you don't decide to close the blog. We'd all miss your banter! Good luck!
Janice.

Good luck.

Good news folks.

Managed to get the other photos removed that had been stolen. It helps to have copyright on your image and info embedded in the image. 100% proof it's yours.

I think a lot of bloggers sincerely appreciate you being so open and honest about the theft of your images. It doesn't even occur to the vast majority of us. It's a sad and maddening situation for you and others. Many of us blog because we truly enjoy the community of wonderful individulas/friends around the world who we share our photos and words with. It's a very special relationship unlike any other I know. Seeing your images and thoughts mean a lot to me and others. I will continue to enjoy your shots on the screen, small, and marvel at your skill and excellent eye for the world we live in. Thank you for being who you are.

Only thing I don't like about the small image is I can't see all the intricate detail. I learn so much from looking at your images. I understand though the need to go small. I hope no one else steals from you.

A stunning image. A truly magical sky. I'm delighted to hear the manx magic has worked for you and your current pirate problems have been successfully resolved. I guess it will be just a matter of time before it happens again unfortunately. Still they will encounter the wrath of Babooshka. Hope this success means a good night at the white swan this evening.

It's a magical photo. I'm so sorry you are having to deal with issues like this. People's dubious ethics will make us all suffer, in that we won't be able to view such exquisite photography. Unfortunately they don't give a damn do they? I hope you won't have to close your blog because of this. Good luck, looks like we're all in your corner.

It's really a shame that there are those that are so low-life, but such is the life on the internet.

The only solution I can think of is to watermark them all across the photo. I know this will take a bit away from the beauty of your lovely work, but then again, we blog buddies would still appreciate your work!

It will be so sad if you have to go, but we would understand.
