Dancing Queen, dancing in the street

I bet she looks good on the dance floor

A tiny dancer for you today. So cute is she not? That is rhetorical. Thought you might like a closer look at one of the lunging ladies I featured the other week if you click here. Great crowd huh! Look closely you can see disinterest "is it time to go home yet, I'm missing Corrie"(as you look onto the image) and lets take the p... "because I haven't got the guts to do dance myself" on the right. Charming aren't they. Remember those by laws, rude obnoxious behaviour can get you a night in the cell here. Anyway lets dance. Anyone know a name? Now look I know some of you island people just have to know something. Stop keeping all the skeet to yourselves. As you know she was part of a duo we had here for Ramsey National Week( yes really we are soooooooo flipping special, needs saying) that did the wobbly dancing bums and tums along the harbour. Just left the Mitre Hotel in the background for you and for real street photography, a wheelie bin. I know I've spoilt you with the bin. Don't get used to it though, it's all boring pretty sunsets for you lot tomorrow.

Now of course many many dance related puns but it's late I'm negotiating, no not for puns for photos. You should be dancing of course in a Bee Gees style. Why? Born on this very island of course. You are all going to look that up now aren't you? Suppose I should tell you all about it as well. You are such a demanding an audience.

Like to help but never had belly dancers in my day. Did the papers not cover the event? Maybe names there?

They were there. I captured the press photographer. Didn't see him around for the belly dancers. Just hoping to put names to faces.

Well, I think she's cute, if a bit overdressed for belly dancing! I also noticed the lackadaisical crowd gathered around and it appears that some of the young females in the background might be making fun of her. That wouldn't be nice, would it?

It's a fun photo! Lots of good color and many interesting elements.

Fascinating, too, in that I wouldn't have thought Ramsey would go in for belly dancing girls for Ramsey National Week... ;-)

What is Ramsey National Week?

I appreciate very much your visit and comment on Ocala DP, Babooshka!

Jacob- they were making fun. Not the only ones I've got more images of the other idiots doing it. She was a little star to carry on

Ramsey National Week - sounds grand doesn't it. Just a week where we have everything from duck races, to musical events and odd quirks like belly dancers. A little celebration of our town for ourselves.

Babs did you take any of the bands. My cousin's boyfriend played but I don't know which band. Grateful if you could show any.

Sounds like a great time in your town!

Now I really feel sorry for the dancer. I've been up front, too, and there's nothing harder than to keep going when you're efforts are being mocked!

What a trooper! And a hottie at that. Clap those bimbos on the right of the frame in irons and put 'em on bread and water for a fortnight and they'll straighten up, I'll warrant. Little twits. If you find out the young lady's name -- the dancer I mean -- tell her I said "Bravi, bravi!" And if you find out the names of the lot in background, it's best you don't tell me.

Fun study of the onlookers in addition to the bellydancer!

Very fine shot. Even the baby in the pram seems to enjoy the dance!

Well she is doing a grand job of dancing. Sometimes I get so caught up in watching the people I almost forget to get some pictures. MB

There is not a man to dance with her ??

Beautiful snap. Th disinterest of the people is well captured.

Jane Hards Photography said...

Bergson - I think there would have been plenty of volunteers.

Mojo- Will do.

If the disinterested and mockers didn't want to be there why were they? It's easy enough to walk away and give those who are interested more room to watch. Always so sad to see bad manners . . . :-(

Beautiful. Are we human or are we dancer?

We didn't have belly dancers in my day. Maybe she isn't local. Try the community boards. Might have an advert there.

Bring on the dancing girls. Pretty lass.

Last group of belly dancers I saw was along bankside to support(?) the marathon racers.
A little odd I thought but hey I'm here to see everything odd quirky and otherwise.

très belle danseuse !

I'm sure the mockers don't realize how difficult it is to belly dance well. People with small minds can be so silly. ;-)

She is lovely! And it looks like she enjoys what she's doing.
