Mystic River
My World
Klaus, Imac, Fishing Guy, Ivar, Tom, Louise, Wren, Sandy and others are to thank for the My World neme. Click here for more my world's just for fun again of course. My World
This image is a bit of mystery. Not how it was taken that's the easy bit, I know that. It's where it was taken. By that I mean I know it's along the Sulby River, I know it's the Poyll Dooey nature reserve, I know all I have to do is wander over in my kimono and slippers take the photo and be back in the house before the kettle boils,(I only said I could do that I didn't say I did) but I can't recall exactly which stretch of the river it was. Doh! On the memory card the image is sandwiched between two totally different images I remember capturing and why, but this one is a one take image of yes a beautiful reflection but why? Not that a beautiful reflection should not be reason in it's self. Was it to tell you about the geology of the island, the overflow from the reservoir, the pond life (use your imagination) or the surrounding myths and legends I was capturing the scene for I don't know. My world today then is a mystery that also reminds me of a painting and I can't figure out what or who? Any ideas? I think this flu is making me delirious, that or the medicine.
Waterworld scenes I can recall when, where, and why click to reveal.

We have a Mystic River. But not the mystery.
I cannot help you here I'm afraid and i don't know if i would want to either. That would spoil the mystery surrounding this lovely shot. I like mystery nearly as much as I like this lovely scene of green.
I love a mystic photo, I can just imagine a mermaid popping up ---------- Oh its you with your Kimono and slippers, now thats a sight to be seen.lol.
Maybe it was the wallaby? Bagged a beauty again.
I love the mystic, too, but have to admit imac's imagining you in kimono and slippers surely does lighten up a cold gray afternoon in Seattle! Alway love your photos, mystic or otherwise!
Fluffy mules of course for slippers.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who looks at the photos I've taken and wonder "why on earth did I take that one?" Great photo!
Nebraska Birding
Another green river. The Paddy's Day returned ?
un beau reflet, qui donne une photo très poétique.
The mystery river, I have many mystery photos. There so much fun!
Wherever you took this, it is certainly a very beautiful image and a great photograph. Thank you for stopping by my post. The little bird you enquired about is a female Cardinal. She is a sweet little thing. Hope you start to feel better soon.
What a beautiful photograph, but I love the mystery that goes with it too! I love rivers and riverbanks; perhaps reading Wind in the Willows helped that? This looks like the perfect place for an afternoon of storytelling. Love it.
It may be a mystery but it is a delightful reflection, I like the fact that you have only shown the reflection of the tree.
I like the mystery surrounding the river shot and it has an air of mystery just looking at it.
Who care why, it's a beautiful pic of a stunning spot. Actually the mystery is kinda fun.
It looks like near the White Bridge?
Gobsmacked by your photography and you write funny stuff. FYI the right decision re Barclays when you did.
I hate when that happens. Sometimes, memory cards are useless, can't help you when you need it the most. Its unimportant what particular stretch this is, it's beautiful.
oops, my entry is over here: http://ewok1993.wordpress.com
It's even so mystic with that nice reflections of the grass in the water. :)
Days like this I miss the island and wish I could come home. That is pure Manx Magic you photographed. God Bless you.
Nice photo, I wonder if any mysterious creature lived beneath it.
What a beautiful photograph..... Thanks for sharing......
It's a cool enough photo that it doesn't really matter where or why, but I understand the feeling because I've done the same thing... with the photos around it giving it no context.
I hope the meds are making you delirious, not the flu!
It's not so much the when, where and why, but the end result and this is quite striking.
Mysteries make life worth living. I think.
Maybe not.
That, too, is a mystery.
It is a pretty shot though. Perhaps you were mesmerized by this scene and thoughts of Monet and Van Gogh danced in your head.
That's a fun story, and definitely makes it post worthy!
Umm... was there a "green" theme you were playing? 'Cause I see a lot of green!
hope you're feeling better soon!
beautiful photo and reflection. BTW, are you going to have a virtual party on the internet when your counter hits 100,000. It is close!
Hope you feel better! Then go looking for that same spot, and perhaps you'll recollect!
It's perfect by itself. :)
love your mysteries!
get well soon!!!
Shades of Rat and Mole messing around in boats....How could you not take that shot once your eyes became aware of it.
Like the reflection of the ghost tree!
Lovely foto ! i love the colours !
Well I love mysteries! May be you can tell us the solution next time. The way you tell it is very good! Have a great week.
A beautiful pictures where onlt the reflections of the trees are captured
Babooshka: I was going to mention that I've been to Mystic River in CT, USA. The town and the river. It is neat to have a mystery.
This is a mystic shot...I love the blend of colors, softened in the reflection.
Water reflection of the image looks great.
What a beautiful "mysterious" view!
Hmmm...makes me think! :)
Take care!
Well whatever------it is a very pretty shot. Now where is the one in your kimona and slippers? MB
Oh, I love mysteries! Looking at that picture you posted, my imagination is showing me mythical creatures already :)
I find rivers so interesting. I would like to live so close I could grab a picture while the kettle boils! :-)
Thanks for sharing yr mysterious shot, lovely. Thanks also for visit my world.
Don't know why you took it, but it is a beautiful shot...that is reason enough.
Dear Baboo,
sometimes we live between dreams and reality....and I like it....That makes colour to our grey day-by-day story of life...( I hope You'll understand)...Anyway, interesting story and photo
Simply beautiful.
Your reflection is facinating.
I think reflections also reveals the truth. It can often be seen more details in the reflection than in the motiv itself....
It must have been that big fish I see in there. Or is that just my imagination? Love the reflection and the geology and the soft colors. Or, maybe you are like me and see beauty in everything!!!!
There is always beauty when we take a photo, otherwise we wouldn't of taken it.Maybe it was hoping for something to pop out of there.
So you have a reflection photo, too, today, but quite another one with that wonderful nature appearing in the 'mirror'
dare I utter the word?.....Oh go on then........I'm looking for Ratty and mole somewhere in there. Cracking shot Babooshka. You seem to get great images of the Sulby. keep up the great work.
It sure look like a painting. I like mysteries.
Love the shot and the 'Mystic river' subtitle too! :-) Beautiful nature photo!
A beautiful river, a wonderful reflection of mysteries. I love the tranquil colours. I could see a painting in this. I know a small river, it is probably more like a creek in the Tallebudgera Valley, it has reflection, a bit of mistery, it is certainly spooky but not deep. Have a nice week.
I believe I can see all the way to the bottom.
well...the mystery is you did take it in your kimono and slippers and it was that bird that flew away while you were trying to capture it...
seriously though...a most intriquing photo and the reflection is beautiful.
thanks for sharing.
Neil, that was the intentional mistake. Just wondered who else was looking up at a pink moon.
Do you have to have a reason? It is a very lovely shot that invites you to investigate further. I do like the image of kimono, slippers and camera, all before tea! Thank you for sharing and have a great week.
Smiles
It could be a painting but I couldn´t find it. Somehoiw it reminds me of the cubistic period of Braque. It must be the colours and those stones.
Marvelous Mystic River ... nifty reflections. I didn't play this week, but I am captivated by your post here.
Hugs and blessings,
What ever reason you take the picture. It's just giving us a beautiful picture with reflections on yellow grass on the water. Is the river near to your house?
