Critters Sunday
As you know I was supposed to be running a series of photos this coming week, Ramsey Beach Images. Of course the moment I suggest that it has consistently rained. Typical. Fortunately I always have a ready stock of recent beach bird images, such as this one. Now I think this is a Muscovy. Can you confirm or deny that out there in critter land?
Funny name Muscovy don't you think? Muscovy meaning coming from the Moscow area but these ducks are don't originate from there. It seems it could be the company that traded in the bird may have given the bird the name, rather than the area. Also Muscovy could be Musk Duck. Anyway lots of Muscovy related stuff for you at wiki here.
As you've noticed a logo now appears on the image. Sorry folks but well if you've been reading this week you'll know about the problems. For those just passing through, lets just say keep an eye on your own blog and images. They are yours, not anyone else's.
Take this blog, it's me Babooshka,Ramsey Daily Photo, http://dailyphotoisleofman.blogspot.com/

It's been a long week. See you on faceboook see logo. For more critters see Misty Dawn to join or view others.

great close up!
Strange looking bird.
Yep Muscovy.
Excellent advice about protecting your work. I have to start doing the same. Insert a text box via PhotoShop I'm thinking?
Getting more snow here and it's only -10C after being -20C this morning. Can I send you some snow??

Your title makes this photo.
It is indeed a Muscovy, great picture. Sorry to hear that you have been having problems with people using your work.
Great picture. I'm sorry to hear about your continuing problems with theft of works.
You're quakers Babs. Hope it' a better week for you.
Hi! I couldn't tell you if it is a Muscovy or not. It is funny looking, but yet very pretty. I love the mow-hawk and the eye. Very intense. Lisa
Actually he is a cute critter!! I have seen ducks with more warts than that.
LB,
You make my day. Never made you Brits with a humor but you are all that and a bag of doritos. How do you get these guys to show for you?
Babooshka didn't go to school with anyone named Christian. If I really did enlighten me before I come to you. You've seen the blog post.
Christian you lied just another feed to a dodgy site, and that's why you have been deleted.
We have those ducks here in Florida too. Very cute when they're young, but as they grow up, not so cute.
Thanks for visiting my blog:)
Oh yeh, handsome little fella, for sure! =D
Great close-up pic :)
Quite a profile! Love the close up.
One of Benji's flock was a muscovey duck. Some 'kids' beat it to death with a baseball bat..Ain't people great....
Yes a Muscovey. Quite a character.
Yes a Muscovey. Quite a character.
What a great face!
The only word that comes to mind is GHAAAA!
Nice image. am glad you took back control of your work! Aloha-
Yeah the best side!
So that's what a Muscovy looks like.
He's certainly got his beady eye on us..
He's one red faced guy!
I hope ALL who have been giving you grief, are similarly affected.
Take care

Yes it's a muscovy! Last year I saw a couple here in the neighbourhood and later the same bird in Australia too.
I don't know the name of the animal, but he/she's looking a little bit strange, but cute !
Not the most handsome duck. I prefer mine on a plate. I do remember my mother bringing them home live for my father to deal to. We had the great job of plucking them.
Hope the watermark helps with picture theft. Keep us posted.
thoughs ducks are bloody leathal.... got a good bite on em... still remember them and the geese gangin up on me in the shipyard (ramsey too) years ago when taking my dogs for a walk.
that sure is a wonderful profile!
Thank you for your kind words and honoring me by being my blog follower!
Like any true star, the best side must be photographed...and ONLY the best side. Cool photo!
Another future star!!
°-)
Instead of water it must drink a lot of red wine, it's nose is so red !
Catwalk material.
I try to always have © info on every image that makes it's way out of my camera into the sometimes cold and cruel world. Too bad if a few don't want the intrusion ... don't forget about the IPTC data in the file info attached to the photo!
Babooshka: That is one ugly duck, I had heard of the ugly duckling but it grew up pretty.
I got 6" more of snow last night and you can have it.
Interesting looking head shot !!!!
Great photo !
chin up, ducks! things will get better. love the head shot or Mr Muscovy here.
We are steering oursleves here for the torrential rain and gales to come. This could be bad. I
Today and tomorrow B. Batten down the hatches. It is an ugly Muscovy.
Facebook is offline trying to send you a message.

(as you wrote in budapestdailyphoto.com)
this shot has an interesting angle :)
Zannie-i t's a gorgeous colour.
Chrissie- I can't get facebook either. Try Later.
The beak looks like it could be painful. Handsome fella anyway.
I had a pet duck (a drake) as a child, but not a Muscovy. His name was Hankie, and he followed me everywhere. Never knew ducks could be so affectionate either.
cool.
What a cool bird!
Thanks for stopping by :)
That's a really neat looking duck... and yes, a neat name too! I always enjoy your posts, and it really upsets me that someone would steal from you!
Interesting bird ... love the head shot and close up of the beak!
Hugs and blessings,

That is definitely a Muscovy. We used to raise them on the farm. Thanks for your many visits to my blog and I enjoy visiting yours.
