SKYWATCH FRIDAY- MOORAGH PARK,RAMSEY
This is Mooragh Lake within Mooragh Park, Ramsey. Almost a sunny day. Well it was a least trying to break through. Mooragh Park is another of my favourites Ramsey haunts. I've even had a go canoeing on that lake, and swam in it. That is to say, I capsized and had to swim fully clothed, and hoist myself back into the canoe. Now I know I'm little, but I couldn't stand up in that lake so getting back in the canoe was fun. It's not very elegant I can assure you! As for swimming underwater in a park lake, I wouldn't recommend it. Couldn't see a thing. Half expecting a Jaws moment to happen, a decapitated head to fall out of a long lost boat down there. Believe me I would rather swim The English Channel than swim in that lake again.
Well the flags are out, which means Ramsey Week is definitely on it's way. The belly dancers are concerning me. Lots of male volunteers, but no females found. It is the Isle of Man Afterall.
By the way, those cartoons of Barker's that were all over my floor, stopping me hoovering. Guess what, two of them will be featured on the Berlin Undergound afterall.

I think this is going to be the best Sky Watch Friday yet. The things I have seen are very encouraging and the photography is spot on.
I really admire your photography skills and your critical eye for composition, lighting and texture.

My Sky Watch Friday posts
This sure is a beautiful scene--one I wish I was in.
dramatic!
Thanks for visiting me while I was away. I’m back now after a lot of adventures, 1000+ photos and the dreaded feeling of “back to real life” . Time to get back out ‘n’ about in Sydney now….
Your tale about canoeing reminded me of my one & only attept punting.
I don't recommend the river Isis for swimming in.
Loved the clouds just lifting over the hills & I agree re Skywatch its for fun not competition. I only regret I cann't manage to see everyones.
Enjoy Ramsey week-end!
Blue
JAWS on the Island of Man - that would be fun (except for you of course...)
Otherwise, I quite agree with your comments on the phantom mailer.
very impressive capture. great view
Wonderful!
Loved the support for Tom & Jane too. Sometimes people just get too serious!
c'est beau un ciel bleu avec des nuages. cela fait faire de très belles photos. bravo
is a beautiful blue sky with clouds. it is making beautiful pictures. Bravo
It is well known that we Portuguese once sailed the seven seas searching for new lands, wealth and adventures.
We were brave in those days and gave the world new worlds!
Luckily I don’t have to sail the big oceans on a small ship to sea the wonders of our world …
No Sir, I just need to check with Mr. Tom, the finest host there is, for a trip around the world with SKY WATCH TOURS and with a click here, a click there I am quickly in the USA, England, Brazil, Italy, China, Australia, Finland … well, everywhere.
And on each stop I come to see a little marvel of our world under a great sky!
Hope you can come and see my piece of the sky at lenses & visions
So pretty.
Very nice place. I like the photo. Thank you very much.
Going for a swim, but not on purpose, eh? chucle, chuckle...
Smashing cloud formation and the going for a unscheduled swim in the lake a scream.
Gotta run hun.

Hi! I'm back from vacation and trying desperately to catch up on blog visits. Love your sky and swans in particular.
Very soon, perhaps by the end of next week, I will be posting some photos of our Greek vacation, during which we were accompanied by a small Serbian traveler (mystery man...) who helped us see Greece through his eyes... Stay tuned...drop in.
that was a fun post!
I wouldn't swim in that lake. Like the sun peeping through the clouds.
Great Sky Watch Friday week. Nice photo. Glad you came by and shared a comment at Pappy's place. Have a great weekend. Pappy

I am running out of superlatives for your shots - great stuff.
A lake, hills, a sunny sky with interesting cloud formations, wonderful picture!
Thank you for your kind comment on my blog. I will be back here!
What a lovely photograph.
Great shot, it makes me want to go and visist. Great landscape.
So you prefered to finish the visit swimming fully-dressed : )
You made me smile with that!
And I'm with you! I support Tom and Jane concerning Sky Watchers from the entire world! Celebrity creates jealousy, I think. Hope we'll be many more this Friday!
I am absolutely loving this skywatch friday. The photographs are gorgeos like yours.
Lovely Sky Watch shot!
Have a fabulous weekend!
Dramatic clouds!
... getting back in to the canoe wasfun... I can well imagine that. :)
Love the photo AND your sense of humor.
And I, too, appreciate your concluding paragraph. Nicely put.
I have taken the same dip in a lake as you have. Not fun when its happening. Great shot today.
Great contrast. Love this shot.
Lol...you are really fit for nature tripping, no wonder you love it! Sky here is bright but didnt reflect on water no? Great contrast!
What do you have to do with the hooligans in Berlin Babooshka? =D Kidding! Happy weekend!
I enjoyed your Sky Watch post. A beautiful place and wonderful looking sky! The sun is trying to get through all those lovely heaped up clouds. Great photo! Thanks for stopping by earlier.
Such a cool SWF picture, and your story about the lake is interesting. I don't think I want to swim there LOL.
Have a great SWF.
Thanks for stopping by my post. I enjoy yours as well. Nice photo today. Had a chuckle picturing you trying to get back in the boat! Thanks for sharing.
Mooragh Park and Lake...One of my favourite places and you caught it just perfect. Thanks
Love this pic... and your swans below are quite amazing as well. I plan to start the skywatch next Friday!
A great photo..whispers of peace.
Well done!

Very nice shot. Makes me wants to take a bath. It is so hot here today about 30 degrees:P
Cloudy skies can not obscure the fine view.
Great shot and beautiful view!
Have a nice weekend.
Sorry!
Congrats on the award. You deserve it, JH!
Love paddle boats, but most can be tricky with balance, a little slip and....you have to pay. Enjoyed your humorous report though. :)
Lovely image for SWF, Babooshka!
Was looking forward to your takes of the belly dancers this weekend until your update today and well...
How i love the summer and how beautiful photos you take.
Lovely view as always.
I swim in our lake all the time...but the "un-scheduled" dips are not as much fun! There was this one time...oh I digress. Great shot, as usual! Thanks for your visits to not one, but all THREE of my blogs! Your comments about my nephew's work are very much appreciated and passed on to him!
I love the dark and light of the clouds. You caught that water sparkling; sounds like it's best to admire the water from a distance. If sky watch wasn't fun, believe me, I'd be running away as fast as I could go. I admire your words of support for Tom & SWF.
Its so beautyful. Famous colours. And you have so much nice pictures of your site
Best regards from Sweden

You put that perfectly Babooshka. This Blogging is supposed to be FUN!
Love your photo. That sky is so bright, the lake is so silver-grey, and the land is like a dark frame. It's beautiful.
Oh, that water looks cold! I don't think I would fancy a swim there - on purpose or not. Your photo is lovely!
My SkyWatch Here
wonderful view
thanks for your visit
The clouds have such depth when the polarised light is removed. I can examine your image for ages: the light of the sky and the dark of the lake. I loved your yarn about capsizing the canoe. Good to know other people are height-challenged, too.
Beautiful sky indeed! ALways make me dream to go away. Thanks for visiting The Hague Daily.
Light and shade.
Good moody shots. It looks just the place that Nessie would swim to for a holiday.
Thanks for the comment re my juggler. As for the photo itself; just luck I suppose.
I'm constantly amazed at how many comments you get. You must have a lot of friends out in Bloggerland.
Beautiful sky. The photo of the siskind down below is wonderful!
That seems a lovely place, and your photo does it justice. I liked your story; it must have been a bit frightening to capsize and struggle to get back in the canoe. You're braver than I. Thanks for sharing this with us on Sky Watch.
So funny. Nice photograph of the lake.
HAHAA, I had a giggle reading your post and glad there wasn't a jaws moment otherwise we would have missed seeing your very interesting sky! It's a fabulous photo :)
this is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!!!! great view! thanks for the comment! (:
Beautiful picture. Sounds like Ramsey's the place to be for the Fourth!
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Bobooshka that is a stunning sky shot. Those involuntary swims, when one is out on a lake for gentle paddle are not my idea of fun either, especially if the water is cold.
brilliant capture
That looks lovely. Just where I'd like to be now!
Good photo and fantastisc conclusion :)
I'd like to swimm there. Beautiful!
I like the beauty of the clouds. A great photo for SWF, the water looks a bit cold and choppy though!
lovely image!
Great sky watch post, still trying to see all the sky watch photos on Tom's blog.
Oh! Dear... seems I've not called here to thank you for joining in or indeed to tell you how good a post this was.. I am so sorry about this.. I know what happens now.. it's how the links work... if I've visited somw one that day then it seen the visit.. I think this is what keeps happening.
Kick me hit me call me name.. as your blog friend and host of Sky Watch I feel terrible.. :O(
Great shot... as usual! I love the mountains.
I can identify with the dislike (fear) of unknown and murky waters. I love swimming, and lots of water activities, but an unexpected brush with seaweed will send a shiver of panic down my spine. Other than that, the up-side of a canoe is a very nice place to be, isn't it?
Your photo looks so tranquil... perfect place for a great white to lurk below, I'd say. ;-)
