Whenever there are fetes or outdoor events of any kind on the island you will usually find something a little different. So nestled amongst the face painters, the temporary tattoos, and the burger vans I found this wonderful bike. On closer inspection I actually noticed what this stall, if you can refer to it as such, was well selling.The Christian Motorcyclist Association UK were as it turned out, not selling but giving away books. Well just one book, the Biker Bible. Now I won't go into details, as it's not my thing, but here's the wiki link if you want to know more about the very friendly bunch of bikers for yourselves. One thing it does prove though, people are like books and you really shouldn't judge either by their cover.
As for the photo it's done exactly the same as the Tynwald shot. Desaturate almost all the colours apart from the blue, then pump up the saturate on the blue hues left in the pic.

Well this is the first for me...Bikers and Bibles, nice blue color, and glad that bird was able to fly off.
The blue looks great among the shades of gray.

Bikers and Bibles..... well there's nothing new about this at all,
Moses rode an old British motorcycle, as evidenced by a Bible passage declaring that "the roar of Moses' Triumph is heard in the hills."
and lets not forget that Joshua rode another Triumph with a hole in its muffler: "Joshua's Triumph was heard throughout the land."

Great shot! I think the blue adds just the right touch! Great subject too! Two things you normally wouldn't asociate if you didn't take the time to look past the surface. A great reminder to us all to dig more deeply.
The Christian Bikers have an incredible elaborate cross on the back of their leather jackets. It is a very odd sensation coming up behind a group of them I can tell you!

It is rather odd I must admit as at first you wouldn't put the two together that's why we should never judge a book by its cover. Great how you've brought the blue up like you did the red the other day. Something I've wanted to try and I followed your instructions from your previous post but got no where at all....Doh

Oh boy... That reminds me of an episode of Six Feet Under where a biker's wife came to the Fisher brothers to organize his funerals. It was pretty funny - although I realize this is completely pointless if you are not familiar with this series.

Cool shot. I just discovered filters on the camera and how to draw colours out. It has some great effects.
Ilike your line "people are like books and you really shouldn't judge either by their cover." Speaks volumes as we a were different faces throughout our daily routine. Perhaps it is here were we find our real selves.
I am still searching for the best way to create black and white images. Thank you for this tip of desaturating rather than PS simple black and white conversion.
The blue really works well and the whole makes for an interesting photo. I'm away now to give it a try...
