I WALKED AMONGST 100,000 VISITORS

I'm to lazy to find 10,000 daffs or photoshop the rest Mr Wordsworth.

Come in 100,000 visitor, your number's up.

I'm also not going to be around possibly when the magic 100, 000th visitor drops by in the next hour or so. I hope it's one of you regulars out there. I imagine some poor literary buff or spotty English lit major( I jest) being rather peeved at landing here and finding the most boring image ever to accompany the oft misquoted poem and finding they have been hoodwinked into taking part in the debacle of my daily photo( I use the term loosely) and have no inclination to comment. My apologises to all you up front, and to Mr Wordsworth. Although on a technicality I could claim( loosely again of course) that this is a perfect image as Mr Wordsworth was distantly related to Fletcher Christian who was related to the Christians of Ramsey and spent some time here. Hey I'll use anything I can to slip in a connection for an image, tenuous, lateral or just plain blagging.


I know how awkward too to have the perfect yellow image the day after the yellow theme day image and instead post an convoluted yellow post spiralling out of control. No Vulcan logic whatsoever. Anyway. 100,000th visitor to be, cheers.


I said after the one year date some thank you's were in order. Today it's come to my attention of 2 blogs just celebrating there own anniversaries. Kim, Seattle, 1000th consecutive post. This girl has class, panache, consistency, terrific photography and is always one of the first to welcome new contributors to the CDP enthusiastically. My other today is Knoxville Girl storming in at one year. Crack open the JD & coke. Knoxville girl, you make me lol. Witty, erudite, altruistic, churning out consistently good photography and carving out a very unique style a true kindred spirit of mine. In the vernacular of the day you got it going on girl. J is for Jubilations

In the style of Babooshka this post will veer off at who knows what tangents(I really have to stop referring to my alter ego in the third person) but the gist is Ramsey Daily Photo is one year old today. Ta Da! Do I hear fanfare and drum roll? Why thank you. So I had this wacky idea to post a daily photo of the the place I live. Ingenious. Turns out Paris, Eric is the ingenious one the Daddy and gazumped us all. Without Eric and the wonderful team at CDP we would all be lonesome daily bloggers floundering in the wildnerness, virtually. I digress. I blame it all on Gailsman though really. Yes you GM. I meandered on that blog looking for something else and guess what it was a daily photo. I liked the humour, I liked images, I thought hey I wanna do this me thinking I had the brainwave remember. I started RDP. I still frequent GM and our common goal the hunt for white dog poo! You are wondering how I have lasted a year posting lines like that haven't you? So have I.


No long Oscar award winning teary gee golly gosh shucks speech. My thank you's would take me until my 2nd Anninversary. An en mass THANK YOU each and everyone. I'll be name checking over the weeks so look out for you yes you out there. One a day will get the pat on the back.



I chose the Isle of Man flag today for the image which just seemed most appropriate. You really didn't want another bridge image just yet did you? It's been a mostly good year. This blog was never meant to be a love letter to the place I live. It is what it is, the way a photographer sees the relatively normal world she lives in. Sometimes bleak, often beautiful, constantly mundane, sometimes extraordinary. Joe said I am the David Lynch of Ramsey in this Twin Peaks town kind of way. That made me laugh. Ah you know me so well, yet we have never met. Perhaps I should curb my enthusiasm. Nah! One thing I have learnt about blogging you have to Go your own way. Post for yourself, do not try and please everyone, but you will always please someone. Be yourself. Above all have fun. The day I stop having fun is the day I stop.

Thanks so much for all the lovely comments, questions, suggestions for posts, inquiries etc. To the majority out there who understand that I have fabulous sense of humour but none when it comes to litterbugs thanks for joining in the banter, answering trivial or important questions I pose, for joining in the word games. For the many awards, some I will be collecting soon, again thank you. I will pass them on wisely. For understanding that you may not always get my best high res, large file photography, (because I have to sell that) but you will always get something interesting, challenging or one of my soapbox rants about wildlife or litter pics. For understanding that I live in one of the smallest places of the Daily City Photos, so I have a minuscule amount to photograph compared to the luxury of a huge city. At least it makes you far more creative, and has opened my eyes up to my own town. I've made some amazing discoveries and I hope to make many more. Are you still in for the roller coaster ride?
