HEY HEY WE'RE THE TYNWALD

In complete contrast to yesterday's living legend photo of Lou Reed taking a walk on the wild side, we have Tynwald taking a walk on the mild side.

Sunday was the last day of Ramsey Week activities. Gary and I had a walk around Mooragh Park and happened upon, stalls and kiddies activities and just outside the cafe at the far end this band Tynwald. Obviously the name is from the Isle of Man Parliament called The Tynwald. What a great name for a home grown Manx band. They definitely seemed to be a fun bunch of fellows, belting out an array of older classics for the eager crowd that had gathered. What's really annoying is I've tried to find out more about the band to no joy. The Isle of Man news link and Manx Radio links are down, so again, if anyone can fill me in I'd love to to do an update on the guys.

A quick tip on the photo. I wanted to highlight the triangle of reds especially the Legs of Man on the drum. Honestly it's not hard just using a little photoshop. Take the saturation down to almost all the colour has gone on the master, all colours. Then push the saturate up again, but switch the master to reds. This way it took the green out and left the red, and the beige on the skin tones, guitar and brickwork. Wanted it to have an older feel without sepia, or monochrome, as I wanted the red triangle of colour to pop out. Try it it's so simple, honest. Hint it works a treat on red roses. My photos are generally as I take them, but if and when I manipulate an image for a specific effect I will always let you know how.

So I am eagerly awaiting for your photo results and any Tynwald feedback.

Love the way you've done the photo. Thanks for the lesson in photoshop I'll have to have a go. My old camera used to be able to do this at a touch of a button but not my new one that I know of anyway. You must have been in Mooragh at the same time as us as we stood and wathed these for a while. I've had no joy either regarding the name.

Oh, I see what you've done now, thanks for explaining. I'll have to experiment more with photoshop on some of my shots.
And just so you know, I can't juggle either, fruit or anything else. But sometimes I juggle schedules. :-)

Sorry can't help with the band.
but I really do appreciate your little photo tips, the black cardboard with flowers ,and now this with Photoshop. I only have lightroom but I am sure I can try it.
Thank you,I hope I can do as well as you did.

One day I might get Photoshop. Most of the time I can't be bothered spending ages fixing something on the computer. I do crop or lighten some with Picasa but thats about it.

What happened to the belly dancers?

Sometimes a band isn't a band but just a loose collection of musicians playing together for the occasion. Maybe this is such a case?

thank you for the court photoshop, I find it complicated, I prefer using a software french: Photofiltre Studio.
Nice picture of this group, I like the photos show, not always easy to do, it depends how often you can place.

outdoor concerts are a treat in small towns. ours usullay consist of local music (cretan folk music), so i tend not to go, not being a great fan of such. the atmosphere entices me more than the music

Thanks for sharing your Photoshop tip, and your artful eye in even thinking of the edit.

Was the music good?

Sounds like a fun way to spend the day. I do like the name, too.

Ooh, I have to try that Photoshop tip one of these days. Maybe not on my own photos but in one of our projects at work. Thank you!

Hope you enjoyed the band's music and good luck finding info about them. I always run into problems like that with the numberous bands of Metro Manila. Usually, I have to wait until they become a little famous before I find anything.

Who are these guys? I haven't found anything about them either. Isn't photoshop amazing. This photo has surely benefitted with your manipulation. Ramsey week sounds like a lot of fun. I just love outdoor festivities with live music and happy people.

Hi! I was immediately attracted to this photo, and am glad that you gave an explanation how you altered it. I'm so-so at Photoshop; can only erase wrinkles (useful), sharpen, use a filter or two, but haven't learned much else.

Keep up with the tips!

You did a nice job on this photo. I think the coloration is good, and you the elements you described do "pop" a bit better now.

I am interested to know what you find out about the band.

Love that! Have a great weekend!

My eye went right to the triangle even before I read the discription so you did a good job on this. I like the add saturation of landscape shots. It is really the way I see the scene when I make the image. My eye is always entertained and attracted by color so I like to make sure that that is the way the image is too.

I really appreciate the tips you give - thanks.

I went off to Google Tynwald as a group. This article appeared 3 times in my search before I gave up!
