RAMSEY, FALL INTO AUTUMN

Ramsey
Red on Green

I'm all over the place at the moment. Blogger wasn't loading images, links not linking and the CDP was down. Anyone else have these issues? Just help me to know if it's just an island problem or universal. So image of the cuff again. Basically the first one that would load. Doesn't look at all like the pub I wasn't trying to upload!

Poyll Dooey nature reserve is on the turn. Only just touched Sept, barely Autumn, yet the leaves are starting to loose their greens tones and give way to russets, reds, yellows and golds. I hate the weather but it's my favourite season to photograph. I'm not a flower photographer but I am a leaf photographer.

Autumn(fall) is the only season I would advise images to be predominately colour as opposed to b&w.
You can't tell it's autumn in a monotone. Red, yellow and green, need to be seen. A daffodil can be b&w. You know it's a spring flower, so you can pinpoint the season. Not so an autumn leaf. It needs to be seen in all it's glory loud and proud, showing off it's glorious autumn attire. This was a portrait lens, not a macro. I wanted to keep the soft focus underneath the leaf for depth of field and to have the image unbalanced. Hence the weight of the image is crammed with foliage on one side. A tight crop would would be nice, but it wouldn't put the image in context of it's surroundings.

Remember all those motorbike images from the summer, the Isle Of Man TT Road Races. Well if find yourself in Brazil(well you never know!) take a peek in a magazine called "Motocation," you may recognise two images from the blog. Yes, Baboohka's images are in there for a special about the TT Road Races. Sometimes you take a image, forget it and it turns up months later. Even better they used one for the index list, the lead shot. By the way, if you do sell your images to a magazine always ask for two copies, you may get one, I got three.

Gary has been a naughty boy and uploaded an image about the "lipstick on a pig" Obama comment on his other blogs

BARKER BITES BACK!

Just thought some of you might want to check it out. This will not be a BBC one and probably not bought by a Republican.

I agree - fall should be photographed in all its glorious color! This is my favorite time of year to shoot...

It won't be autumn here for a long long time. I am enjoying your photos of it. Gary, shoot me your stuff!

Congrats on being published with your TT road bike photos!

For every positive, there is a negative. love the wonderful colors of autumn, positive. The negative, silly antics of our politics. Both Dems and Repubss have cast this as American Idol race rather than actual politicking. Where is Simon Cowell when we need him?

I tend to show more vibrant colors. Our winter is far too long with much monochromatic images, bright white snow, steel gray skies, leafless trees, black and white.

the autumn is a glorious time in many parts of the world - unfortunately it takes a while to set in here in crete, we are still in summer mood with the hot sun above our heads...

We didn't have a summer. Autumn does have the best colours.

I really love the autumn colours although it means winter is coming and I hate it! I'm more a kind of 'sunman'! :-)
Yes, last night CDP was down here too...

CDP has been rather erratic recently so the problem's probably universal.
Autumn, I love the colours like your leaf but much prefer Spring.

I love autumn as well. Being originally from southern california, where we don't experience seasons, I truly enjoy all 4 since we left!
Looking forward to seeing these hills around me explode into fall colors!
I noticed CDP was down last night for a while.

Lovely, lovely photo. I love the colors of autumn. . .the best thing about living in th south.

Re: blogger issues. . . .I sometimes have trouble linking to your site. I have no idea why. I also sometimes leave a comment and then don't see it later. I have that problem mostly with your site, but at times with one or two others. A few days ago, I had trouble getting onto the CDP forum.

Can you tell us which photos are in the magazine? There are so many motorbike ones. We have had a lousy summer. Well done. Good to see the Isle Of Man TT represented by a local photographer.

Splendid picture.

I like your macro. Autumn weather will not come to Knoxville for awhile. No, we're gonna sweat for another month or so.
And Gary's caricatures - heehee!

Laxey in Autumn has the best colours.
Top marks on the mag. It does make a change for someone who actually lives here to make it to print.

ah technology can be a pain sometimes. I have been dealing to a virus. Fixed now, but I haven't had time post or pay visits. All ok now. I'm hoping for a great autumn to make up for the lack of summer. Lots of colour!

It sure is starting the rainy season. I can't wait for the winter to come. Usually we have lots of beatiful white snow and some 10-20 minus degrees.

Late fall with the first few minus degrees is also very nice! All the trees are colored with yellow and red leafs.
