RAMSEY HARBOUR, ISLE OF MAN

It's Skywatch Friday again and that means it's going to be Ramsey Harbour and Ramsey Swing Bridge for me this week. As they say if it isn't broke don't fix it, so what else should I bring you after a black and white shot yesterday but a pretty sunset for skywatch.

It's taken on the same day as last week, only at a slightly different time an further over to the right. It will soon be too dark and cold for me to take these shots so I am making the most of them before it's cold wet and even more miserable than the already horrid summer we had this year. I expect I will be showing you dramatic cloud shots soon. Also I've been confined to the house with the flu thingy and it's been a week of archive images.

Today though I have been out and about meeting a very sweet black cat who posed nicely, photographing empty shops(don't ask) a few other little quirky little manx oddities and cranes. Lots of cranes. Why cranes? Well Gary is workiing on a project that involves cranes. He's also working on another hush hush project that involves a cinematic icon likeness and a well known phrase. It's all cloak and dagger isn't it, but I can't reveal more as yet. For a sneak peak you can catch his latest art work at BARKER BITES BACK! and drop a word or two.

Scarlet, tune in tomorrow for neme and some of you some blog awards.

To join skywatch go to SKYWATCH
The concept was Dot's, the next host WIGGERS WORLD the guardians of skywatch now are Tom, Imac and Sandy

The colours and the scenery are beautiful indeed! :-)

The weather's been miserable all day here. I went out at 6.30pm to pick up my daughter after a game, and it was pitch black on my drive through the Vienna Woods! Rainy and wet too. Yikes, can't believe that only two weeks ago I was swimming in the lake at sunset!

Let's hope for Indian Summer to visit us both!

Awesome catch..... Great job! Reminds me the saying,,,, We never know how high we are, till we are called to ris; and then, if we are true to plan, our statures touch the sky... Happy Skywatch! Hope you can visit my SWF entry too...

Yes, soon winter will curtail our photo ops. Boo hiss! This is another lovely photo, the sunlight is beautiful.

I loved your tulip from yesterday. Although I am very pleased with myself for my own flower photos, this is in a different league. Great work!

Hope you are feeling better soon - Night Nurse and a hot toddy is the way to go :)

Another beautiful capture of the harbor at sunset, Babooshka! Super Sky Watch post! With the slightly different angle than last week, I think I can catch the outline of a fishing trawler on the left. :)

Thank you for visiting Skywatch at Juhu Beach

Thanks, Bab, for giving me the heads up. Your Sky Watch is very nice, the sunset is great! I like swinging bridges, we have one at our Baytown (Texas) for the railroad.
I appreciate your telling me about the Corkhill name, ours does not have the "h" as it is spelled Corkill. There were over a half page of them in the Douglas phone book. I didn't look for the other as I didn't know about it. Probably they are from the same tree? I will try checking.

Great sunset too.

The perspective with the objects and bridge jutting out into the water remind me of peninsulas intermingling. Lovely skywatch.

I certainly hope you're recovering well from your flu thingy. It's a good sign that you are back to getting out and shooting. I'd say that's the best medicine. Nothing like getting out, seeing the world and capturing it through your own eyes. It is a pleasure knowing your blog-quaintance. I appreciate your kindness and of course, your wonderful and dramatic photography.

Angie said...

A great photo, definitely a romantic feel to this with those lovely soft colours and the sun's rays on the water.

Delightful photo of the sunset! I love the setting - water, bridge and sun with a few clouds. I am looking forward to to your cats and cranes posts. I hope your flu has flown long before the next sky watch.

Too dark and cold...I hear you on that one! Now while I must give my compliments on a nice shot (there's a somber mood to it), I am intrigued by all the mystery surrounding the cranes and empty shops. I know...don't ask! ;-)

Amazing colours. I have noticed that the sky on higher latitudes tends to be much more colourful than e.g. here in Poland. I am missing it so much after coming back from Norway!
