Sparkling Poyll Dooey
Is it Friday already? Must be skywatch then. Hope this works today. Between computer glitches, server problems, Mr Linky not being Mr Linky and the horrible weather I have gone for an archive from the summer. A little bit of sparkle and twinkle on a cold wet November grey day. It's over the Poyll Dooey again, my beloved nature reserve in Ramsey. If you want to see how this shot was taken see Skywatch Poyll Dooey, my other twinkle pic with the photography lesson.
Well I've downloaded new software- running fine.
Server back to normal- for how long I don't know.
Mr Linky is working again- links seem fine now.
Today a big thank you to a few people. This really shows that "the kindness of strangers still exists," even if is not in your own back yard.
MRS NESBITT'S PLACE- tirelessly trying to run the ABC blog and keep us all linked somehow.
GORDON ADELAIDE- He kindly linked my blog to Mr Linky when my server was down. I asked for anyone to help, he jumped to it straight away.
SAILOR GIRL, PORTUGAL- Also jumped straight in and re added my link several times to ABC when it kept disappearing.
Many thanks you were my twinkling stars this week, tremendous help. Anyone stopping by, my blog today, stop by their blogs too for they kept this blog twinkling when it was lost in the virtual world.

What an amazing photo! Happy skywatch :)
NICE shot, Babooshka. Sorry you've had so many computer problems this week. Sheesh!
Glad the computer is running better for you. This is so bright and cheery. Thank you! Love the blue sky.
Hi Babs, this is what the stars look like to me all the time. Perhaps with a longer tail on the bottom. You picture is very pretty.
I hope your computer can continue running like right now with the problems gone.
Happy SkyWatching, mine is in a fog today. :-)
..
Very cool shot. Happy SWF.
OH YES!!!
What a Shot!!
I agree it is a STAR!!!
Great sun flare, I love it in the bright blue sky.
That's a wonderful twinkle twinkle. So beautiful.

une étoile qui nous éblouie ;o) dans ce superbe ciel
Wonderful photo, have a great sky watch!
Thank you for reminding us of what summer is like, a happy thought here.
Lovely picture, a touch of magic with the twinkle.
Great shot of summer, which by the way I am missing already. Love the photo.
Shining bright and beautiful.
This certainly cheers up Novemeber days! Glad things, tech wise, are back in order. People are great :)
Very pretty Babs.
What a beautiful twinkle in that sky!!

I wasn't skywatching when you shot the original one, but I'll second your word of warning. I melted a shutter curtain in my first film SLR shooting this way even with a circular polarizer and an ND6 filter attached. I couldn't stop down enough and she sizzled. I've shot similar scenes since then, but my equipment is better now and I can dial down exposures to below the danger level.
And you're right too when you say this is a shot best shot with manual settings. The internal metering would never know what to do with all that light!
I'm making a wish on this brightest of stars that your computer luck holds. Brilliant capture.
Your excellent photo of the sun as seen from the green earth definitely reminds us that the Sun is indeed one of the countless stars in the sky.
Babooshka: You captured a diamond in the sky today.
A beautiful capture and a lovely reminder that goodness still exists in humanity. Very nice.
It's a bejewelled starry sky.
That's a brightness we won't see until January--and then it will be so unlike the warmth of this sun!
I liked the first image when posted. I love this one as it has that bit more blue for the contrast. No chance of getting anything like that this week though. Sorry to hear abot your PC problems. Loved yesterdays bridge shot as well. Thought at first looks it was taken just over the road from The Stanley but then I realised you can see the contol cabin so it must have ben taken by the new swimming pool. great capture.
your title says it all...put a smile on my face.
Very beautiful photo. Love the twinkling effect. Have a nice weekend.
Beautiful! I agree with Fishing Guy: It's just like a diamond in the sky!
Happy SWF and Nice Week-End!
LB,
Checked the back shot. Thanks for the lesson. Not got the instinct to get a shot like this. Kudos. You're a star.
Oh very nice! How did you do that? I'm always careful about not shooting into the sun unless I can look at it safely with my eyes as I heard it can damage the camera's sensor. Maybe that's not so?
Beautiful! I wish I could capture a moment like this with my camera.
Wow, what an extraordinary photo, brilliant! so glad you got your help. I hope things run smoothly for you from now on.
A star of a photo. Sorry I haven't been visiting much, we're being monitored at work so I have to be careful.
great Lucy in the sky, a diamond!
Aloha-
Fascinating twinkle for SkyWatch! May all go well now!
Cloudia I hear ya. Precious!
A beautiful image to brighten up my November day!
That is a beautiful twinkling sky!
Very beautiful Babooshka!!
Babooshka, admit it... you're really a faery or powerful otherworldly creature... that's the only reason you would be able to coax this kind of spectacular twinkle out of our ordinary sun...
I don't even want to know the mundane photographic explanation. In my mind, this is just one of Babooshka's magical shots!
This is so nice...looks very warm which I welcome since it is so cold here!
Very effective babooshka and I get to keep my retina in tact. Have a great weekend
Super shot. Now I will have to learn how to do this. MB
This is a pretty shot.
Love the capture! Just beautiful. :D
Lovely bright capture. It's good to have a plan "B".

Great shot!
i think i've seen this pic before on your blog - glad to hear everything is working now - this sort of thing happens frequently in my town; one minute we have internet, the next hour it's down...
Finally a twinkle of sunlight in a blue sky!! Lovely!
Hey, that is a very striking photo!
I enjoyed seeing the Ramsey Bridge down below, how about one of the Laxey Wheel? LOL!
This seems nicely appropriate as Christmas decorations are appearing in the shops..
Hope your electronic troubles are at an end!
Linky linky and the server - all this technology thing linking links and all just bogs my mind! lol
I don't know how they linked your link to the link that links while your server was down but I am glad its all good now!
Its still Thursday for us - I wish it was Friday!!!!
I wish I was able to help you but I guess I wouldnt have known what to do - have a wonderful weekend!
Indeed beautiful photo with magnificent sky color.
It must be Magic....or Babooshka's photography...one and the same!
Ouah ! Your sky is very, very "clear", with a beautiful colour...

I hope everything's fine now!
Thank you! Now I am happy, knowing that I'm a Twinkle Star! YES!!!!!
