Queens Pier, Ramsey is a post I've written before, but as it's "Q" I thought I would take the opportunity again to highlight a worthy cause, saving Queens pier.When I did my previous post about the pier work had just got underway to secure and make it a least safe before it fell itno the sea. The work is still continuing, albeit intermittently. Rumours, suggestions and options are still being considered as to renovate or demolish. As I've said before I do hope it's the former. The approach to Ramsey, from Douglas, just wouldn't be the same without it.

I hope you get the pier saved - the pier at Southport was very well renovated and it does have a tramway - not sure if any of the Blackpool piers do.

Lovely photo. We have a pier in Mumbles that is in a similar state of disrepair. It would be horrid to lose it. I hope your pier survives too!

The pier looks lovely in youir photo and I liked knowing a little more about it's story.
Never heard of a pier with a tramway, so I guess there's one more reason to preserve it.

Our pier is made of stone - I prefer the stone ones, they're not so disturbing (I live by the sea, yet I have a fear of it. Weird no?)

A great pier like this should be saved, great shot.
It would be a shame to lose such a piece of history and beautiful structure. I love the angle and composition you used in your shot.

What a wonderful and worthwhile Q post. After all the years I have lived here, I have never been to Man. It's time I did. Hubby is from Fleetwood anyway and will have memories from years ago about sailing to Man - it's time we got off our butts and saw where we lived!

beautiful Q photo! I found your blog on Mrs. Nesbitt's Place and love it. I have been to the Isle of Man, but many years ago...in the 70's. My grandparents were from N. Ireland and then immigrated to Canada. So, I still have family in your neck of the woods so one year they took us to the Isle of Man. I loved it so it is fun to look at your pics!

It is such a shame that piers are just left to go into decline, I hope it will be renovated.
Superb shot. Sad when piers deteriorate - so much part of life in the past. I spent part of my childhood in Brighton and now at least one of those piers is destroyed.
