MONOCHROME ODDSHOTS - HANDS OFF IT'S MY BALL

This image will not be to everyone's taste, but I know some of you out there will get a kick out of it, the arty sport shot. A combined theme shot again. Obviously it's black and white, so that covers the monochrome and hopefully the odd part of the shot speaks for itself. Needless to say this is personally one of my favourite images to date I've posted.

I'm working on a a couple of Ramsey related projects at the moment that are going to be a little time consuming so my blog visits time may be limited. I am on the verge of a turning point professionally and need to concentrate on a few Ramsey related projects that will need my fullest attention. I may also have to curb my advice, ideas and help for a while too and it's time to follow up on some suggestions and offers I have had recently concerning my work. You may also notice the images have reverted back to a smaller size. This is simply to protect them from being used by others without my permission. I know this all sounds a little cloak and dagger but the blog is a work in progress, my words, my ideas, my images about Ramsey are to be used at my discretion, not for others to take the credit. Ramsey is my town, this is my blog.

On a lighter note tomorrow Tue. 7th Oct. will be my 200th post. Join me for an ideas session of things you'd like to know about Ramsey or links you'd like. There is so much more to show you but sometimes when you walk past something everyday you may not think to photograph it. The beach, the park, the shops, the pubs, the Manx signs, the churches, I could go on. So today, just comments on this image. Tomorrow your ideas and comments on the next 200 posts would be welcome and appreciated.

One for Ramsey residents, a message. Dig out those electric blankets for testing soon. It's free remember to have them tested but priceless for peace of mind.

I like this image - its perspective and the way you've got the focus off center. Good job! I better get mine up. :D

Great odd shot! I am still trying to figure out what is going on just outside the frame! Sounds like you have some wonderful things happening on your end. Congratulations on your 200th! It is a great day for it...it falls on my birthday!

Took a little while to work out just what I was looking at. I like it.

That is a fantastic shot! It could be for a fashion editorial or Dolce & Gabbana campain. Very good work!

LB,

You nailed it! It's statuesque. Dolce & Gabbana, yeah I get that. Do you work for magazines? If I buy an image can you sign it? How would that work for you?

LOve this image. It is one of my favorites. I appreciate your time. Good luck on this new venture. I would like to see more street portraits of your city. Is that easy to do or are people hesitant for you to do it?

One of my favourites too, even if my eye is not as sharp as yours!
Monochrome Monday? What a strange idea! Monday is so often monochrome by itself...I always try to put some colors on it!

You got it. Perfection!

I think the biggest failure of blogs are that they seldom show us how people live.

We are invited to see fences, barns, gates, shutters, porches, flowers, patios, and things like grocery shopping but never the inside of the domain where the people live. I don't know why unless people are either ashamed of their furniture or their homes inside or are not wanting to show their wealth. There must be some reason we never see the inside of the houses people live in.

So that would be one thing I would like to see on any blog.

I have also thought about going back to smaller photos for the same reason as I have had my entire blog lifted, stolen, and used without permission. Your post reminds me that I need to explore that again.

I like how you show off the small town. Not a lot to it. I couldn't manage 20 photos off hand. Nothing springs to mind, perhaps the football. The pubs would be ok too.
Carry on as you are is my advice. I follow your blog. I'm from Bride, but live in Laxey. I'm not one for comments normally, but you asked. I like what you do and how you do it. I hope it doesn't change or stop. It's put Ramsey on the map. Well done.

I love the image babooshka! Not just the image and the title but also the narrative as well! Very Very educational!

thanks so much for appreciating my posts and giving that praising comment. It touched me so much especially coming from you. It made my day especially getting hater comments on my Cavite Daily Photo on Multiply.com. it was my first hater critique and it hurted me a lot.

You guys are inspiring me to go on and those comments remind me that I am doing this wonderful blogging hobby for people like you who appreciate my works and not for those that hate it^^

God BLess you and Mabuhay^^

The more I look at this image the more I like it. I think it would look fantastic large sized framed. great idea about asking people what they'd like to see / know about Ramsey. I've done it on my site and it gets me looking at different places as well as getting me out and about.

That image is just perfect. You have caught it just right. Brilliant. Love it.

My God! What a stunning photograph you posted today, Babooshka! It makes me jumped off my seat! The empty space proportion in this composition makes the subject and the memonet stand out and visually strike the viewer's senses.

I can't find this image on their website. Quality!

there is no ground to anchor perspective, which makes this a flight of fancy. Are they lifting him up or pulling him down - could go either way.

Love the pic and good luck on your project. Hope this come out as you hope it will.

Also, have you checked out www.tineye.com? It is an image search engine, sort of like google for pictures. It will find who is using your image, or even small part of your images on the web.
