QUEENS PIER, RAMSEY, ISLE OF MAN - MY WORLD

Ramsey Isle of Man is my world. This image is Queens Pier 2/100 for those keeping count.

Thanks in advance for all those new people stopping by as I have been named "blog of note" today.

The Pier has since fallen on bad times, as I pointed out in my skywatch post. A group the "Friends of Queen's Pier" was set up to hightlight the plight of the pier, and to try and save it, from the neglect it has suffered over the years. It's future is still uncertain, but at least it has now been secured. We need to preserve this pier as many of those in the UK has been lost to the elements or even fire. Save our Pier. I know I'm home when I see it coming along the coast road.

For more my entries click MY WORLD and thank the skywatch gang once again for another inspired idea.

If you want to see loads of wonderful alternative images of the pier and excellent write up go to my world contributer Mannanan, British Isles

I am joining red bubble. Watch this space.

Babooshka you've gone and done it again. A stunning photo of a brilliant piece of engineering that quite rightly needs preserving for future generations to come. It would seem that it's save the pier week as I've posted the same......

I also love piers. I used to live in Brighton and felt very similar about the West Pier, luckily a Grade 1 listed pier, but still its fate is certain.

Loved the mention of Sodor, which before now I had only heard of in my son's Thomas the Tank Engine DVDs (I apologise for my ignorance on this matter, but I really never knew it was a real place).

Congrats on being blog of note!

I saw a deal on TV the other night about Ghost Ships & they told about one in The Isle Of Man and I thought of you! hehehe

Congrats - Blog of Note - Very cool!

I have to be honest, I hadn't really heard too much about The Isle Of Man until about a year ago when I came across a radio based web cam in Ireland and the DJ was originally from there. I don't remember hearing or studying about it in school, but now, I know where it is and I've checked it out on Google Earth, which is a technological amazement for me!

I hope everything works out with the pier because history is important for our future.
