RAMSEY SWING BRIDGE - RED WHITE AND BLUE

Ramsey Swing Bridge - Red White And Blue- No 4

Is anyone else having trouble with uploading images tonight.

CLICK THE THIN BOX ABOVE THE TEXT IT WILL TAKE YOU TO THE IMAGE IN PHOTOBUCKET, IF THE IMAGE NOT ON SCREEN.
Can you leave a comment to say if you are seeing an image. Thanks.

A you know I was challenged to show a hundred different and varied photographs of one thing. The Subject being the Ramsey Swing Bridge. So this is, if you can see it that is, be No4 on the hit list. It's a section of the main archway looking up through the girders. Fortunately the sky was a vivid blue and the Bridge is Red and Cream, but in this light it's taken on a white tone, hence the title.

Again this was taken with the little handheld no frill olympus. I cropped an unnecessary layer of sky from the top that was just to distracting. Apart from that it's a pretty straightforward image, but again focusing on a different area of the bridge to the previous bridge shots under healthier weather conditions. A I have already said as well just to show that you don't need to swamp colours or sharpen with digital software when using a snapshot camera, just point shoot and trust your judgement.

Have you tried shooting the same image then again and again, without using any enhancements?
It's good practise and can really help hone your skills. Try it you'll like it.

I am not a happy bunny tonight. Blogger is annoying me big time!

PS. Blogger now fixed, hoefully so republished this post at 11.50am GMT time.

No image, Babooshka! :-(

"Louis" is fed up with Blogger. He's moving "The Frog Blog" and his recipe blog to WordPress. Bay Photo may or may not move. "Louis" had a LOT of trouble last night loading images. Also there's a bug in Blogger that doesn't like the Mac operating system. For the last 24 weeks Blogger has been causing both Safari and Firefox to crash, and it happens both on "Louis's" laptop running OS 10.4.11 (Tiger) and on his iMac running OS 10.5.4 (Leopard).

With every crash, "Louis" reports it to Blogger. They still haven't put it in their known issues. Instead, they hid the contact form. Luckily "Louis" kept an e-mail address to 'support' (HA!) and has been using that.

Hi,

Same here, all day. Tried deleting cookies, caches, history, reboot. You name it kid, I've done it.

Blogger are ****kickers.

Cool blog.

well, I thought I was just an incompetent (insert creative swearword here), but methinks it's Blogger. I'm getting an error message too, and I can't upload directly from Picasa either (more sweary, sweary, swear). I'll try again later, maybe (swearity swear) Blogger will have fixed its (obscenely technicolor swear) problem by then.
but I'm not holding my (swearswearswear) breath.

You are so very clever to show us the photos anyway. I like the Red/Cream/Blue post. (I'm also glad I'm not going crazy trying to post... I thought I ruined something.)

The photos did not load on the page but they did load once I clicked on the empty rectangular spaces.

I take anywhere from 3 to 10 photos of each shot from different and similar angles. After awhile, it does train my eyes to what looks good and what doesn't on photos.

Usually I get several posts ahead of myself in case of blogger=glitches but last night I didn't do mine until almost midnight and it posted OK

Saw the photo through photobucket link - perhaps it might work if you "embed" the image.

I know that when this happens people talk about switching to Wordpress but I often see people with WP blogs threatening to turn to Blogger so as usual it is horses for courses.

I like the perspective of this bridge shot.

Hello from one wonderful island to another!!! Great catching up with all your great posts. Can't download the photos on this post but that is nothing unusual for me - my phone lines are horrific here and the page often stops downloading before photos are through!!!!

Here's a carrot for the unhappy bunny!I can't see the image either but... I'm such a google girl I can't imagine switching... but I guess that I still listen to records too!

About time too. Finally the image is up.

Gerlad I diid embed link, but it was still flatlining. Bad night all round.

No problem with Blogger lately, but it is not unknown to occur!

I liked the pattern of the bridge, when I finally found it. However, I am not sure that I totally agree with you concerning trusting snapshot cameras "yourself" in all instances. What you are trusting are the cameras software. Sometimes I want to do something myself.

This morning I see one photo and 2 empty boxes! The shot is great. This is case where you allow us to the "trees" rather than just the "forest"...so many details in the ironwork that we would miss in a long shot of the bridge. THANKS!

One photo and two empty boxes, but when I click on those, I go to another site with the same photo.

The photo is just beautiful! Love the lattice work of the bridge, and the blue and red set it off perfectly!

Only the top photo for me. (It's a beauty!) I tried last night, too. :-(

Hi B-thanks for visiting our blog. Your photos are amazing! Cheers from West Sacramento Photo of the Day.

Hi, Babooshka! No problem loading images, but then I should never speak too soon.

I love the first photo you posted, but couldn't see the other two; just two little red x's, which isn't probably your fault!

Thanks for your visit to me today. So far, bouncy castles are still used exclusively by children here, though there was a trampoline court next to it....

raf said...

Yep, first image is good and the other two blank.
Stunning photo, Baboosh! Love that composition of red and white patterns and shadows against the vivid blue sky.

As all the others I can now see the top image only with the remaining two boxes being blank. Well worth the wait. Love it.

love the striking deep blue of the sky ... well done.

I can only see the first image. Saw the others in/at photobucket. Blogger can be a pain the the arse sometimes! I liked the photos, its good to see so many different shots of this bridge. I knew you'd prove that guy wrong!

100 photos of the bridge on the blog. 100 photos of the bridge. post one up, show it around, 99 photos of the bridge on the blog.

99 photos of the bridge on the blog. 99 photos of the bridge. post one up, show it around, 98 photos of the bridge on the blog.

etc. etc. etc. etc..........

Whew!

I like this view, a rather softer side of the bridge, would make for a perfect trellis with grapes and flowers and such.

Seems everyone is annoyed with blogger these days. just don't know what to do about it, though.

Now only seeing 1 of the 3 images, Babooshka. "Louis" had a horrible time loading images on Blogger again this morning.

I can only see the first photo, but it is lovely - I love the colour of the sky - often when I take this type of picture the sky gets bleached out.

Am I the only one not having uploading problems? Goodness.

I see one image and two empty (except for the red x) boxes.
