N is for new

New dawn, new day, and I'm feeling good

Get well soon Wilma! Wilma is Mrs Nesbitt's dog the creator of ABC

Click on image to see larger. No Manx words to day. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a simple study of seasonal growth. Yes it's Autumn and all the leaves are turning brown. Not just brown, golds reds, yellows and the new berries are bursting onto the scene with rich ripe succulent colours. Time to get the camera out down the bridle path and wander the woods looking for the gorgeous Autumn tones and misty dawn mornings. So it's all about new. New dawn, new day, new season, new growth, new housing development, new regeneration of the high street, and at time of taking new lens. Lovely portrait lens to create the clarity on the focal point of the central berry and soften to fade of the day dawning.

I'm slowly getting back into blogging but the real world still needs a little more attention. For more Abc's see here and do check in with Mrs Nesbitt and poor Wilma the dog.

LAXEY BEACH BLUES - SKYWATCH

Red White and the Blues

As I am still sifting through the Laxey Blues Festival images.I mean no time to go hunt the skies tonight for sunsets and crepuscular clouds(Dewdrop, go see for awesome storm chasing images, will know what I'm talking about) We got clouds, we got blue skies, we got a flash of red to spice up the colour and even got a pebble sand beach. That'll do for you won't it tonight? Just be grateful in wasn't another Swinging bridge image. I mean we only had that yesterday and even I would suggest another one today would be a tad like overkill.

COLOUR BLIND - MY WORLD

Red & green should never been seen except upon a fool

My World

Only nature can get away with diametrically opposed colours and blend them together so well. That red & green saying under the image has many variants, such as blue and green and extra verses with political or maritime connections, which made me curious.
I've found many reasons for the saying, but I'd be interested to know if you say either, and why? Back to the image. Would you be surprised if I told you this was the same place as last week, the meadow? No you wouldn't would you as it's my staple calling for "images I need in a hurry." or the other reason it's pi..... I mean persisting down with rain and the camera doesn't like rain, bless her. So not quite slippers and kimono, but a wander over in my proverbial "scruffs" click and all back before the kettle boils.

I think this is a maple, but as I have said I'm pretty crap at naming those blooms and trees. It's a sapling, I can see that. It's shot in really fierce direct sunlight, which casts a lovely hazy feel, without the dreaded moisture( hello just straightened hair!) In the meadow amongst a blanket sea of green this lone shaft of red stood defiantly alone in the corner, bending slightly but not cowered. Now that was a very poetic(pretentious moi?) way of describing the image, but if you are colour blind and these are the two colours you can't distinguish, well I may as well have shot this in mono and waxed lyrical about the textures. My world is photography. I see colours, form, shape, perspective,.. oh you know blah di blah but I am genuinely interested in knowing if any of bloggers out there are colour blind and what you see? For more tricksy red(dish) and green colours click the pretty colours below, or should I say the words in bold.

MARCH THEME DAY GLASS - BRITISH RED TELEPHONE BOX

A different glass

British Red Telephone Box

Theme today is glass. Glass building are relatively few in a Ramsey and I have featured the ones I could have used already, so I went for a very British Institution a Red Telephone Box. To highlight the box I just desaturated the background. A departure for me. With the advent of mobile phones phone boxes and the more modern open kiosks are dwindling in use. They are no longer replaced or new ones provided when the present ones need updating. The iconic red box stopped production many years ago, in fact there is more than one design called "K class" but you still find them in far flung places such as Gibraltar, Bermuda, obviously the UK and here. Anywhere that is part of the British Isles, UK, or British Islands. Many were sold off privately once they were de-commissioned and you will often come across one in the most unlikely country. You may have one in your area? Many also have been adapted for other uses across the world. British theme bars around the world always seem to have one too in one form or another. Click here to read more about the history from wiki.

This phone box is still in use and working. Situated outside Ramsey Football Club Ground. It still accepts coins not just phonecards or credit cards, still has a phone directory intact and as you can see is also non vandalized. Not one pane of glass smashed. It's not the only Red Telephone box in Ramsey, we have quite a few and all of them are still used. Just want to point that out. The tourist's love them. So that's my iconic glass image. Something a little different, iconic, historical, outmoded but strangely still in use here.

Have fun and do check out the many daily photos around the world and there unique images
