Golden Oldie
Well of course I would be making the most of this time. T is...... tada the TT. Tourist Trophy in case you were wondering what that bit actually stands for. Ah but it hasn't started yet has it no? Ah but I have no images of them whizzing about during practise week either have I? Erm, no again. So what have we here, one from the 900 from last year? No again. Confused, well no more than usual reading my blog of course. I think the look of the bike may give it away. It's not an old race from yesteryear and" Ye Olde Isle of Man TT Road Races" when the world was in black and white film cameras(yes kiddies you had to get the film developed)ruled the roost. No it's a vintage bike in a vintage race. That would be vintage stuff then.
So you see it's not all modern brightly coloured garish noisy motorbikes bombing around the snoozy island that sound like demented hairdryers on speed. No. We do your classic laid back, vintage, easy riding, mellow, cool, classic, rumbling baritone machines too. I do mean vintage with some going way, way, back. Some riders go way, way, back too. They can probably still recall the days when you could get a cold strawberry milkshake from a certain chip shop.
For more ABC see Mrs N and team.

Oh, well - I was born a coward, so I'll stay at home and wait for the tram...
Thank you for the pleasant comment!
And I prefer my old bike(bicycle)! Though I had an invitation to try a ride on a motorbike!LOL.
vintage is all right by me...have a great day!
Vintage is cool! This is a really great action shot!
That's to easy "T" is for TT.
Oh I do like the Vintage machines. A lot more character that the modern racing bikes.
I'll stick to hard photography and make my life easy with the letters. How to fit U in for the TT though. Easy would you believe.
It's a race against the clock!
Not much fun for those of us who live here! Noisy
Here we go. Only practice week and the "anon" have started. I live here too. Believe me having your neighbour
forever knocking walls down, lawnmowers constantly going, cars revving, music blasting and the never ending building of the new houses then the interlude of motorbikes is extremely pleasant. I will show you images of thousands enjoying themselves in one shot... and they are not all tourists.
I wondered what TT meant, so I'm glad you explained. How convenient that the races are taking place near ABC's T posts!
Hmm... just how "vintage" is that bike anyway? The size of the tires would suggest 70's era, perhaps early 80's... not exactly what I'd normally think of as "vintage", but I suppose everything's relative. Old or new, it's still a great shot. And I still have my old film camera... hasn't been shot in a couple of years, but I can't bear to part with it.
I'd love to see one of these sometime. Bike racing in general isn't terribly popular in my part of the US of A. Here stock cars rule, which is okay once in a while, but it sure would be nice to have them turning in both directions. There are two road courses on the NASCAR circuit and both of them might as well be on the dark side of the moon from here.
Great capture...looks like a fun shoot!
Looking forward to all the pictures of the TT and Denise perhaps visiting you. Perfect choice for the letter T.
Nice shot, but the helmit and leathers give it away. It does however remind me of Hailwood on the 6 cylinder 250cc Honda, now those were the days...
Excellent 'T' posting.. I have a mate who rides in this class... he normally falls off each year which seems to please him no end.. and of course it gives all us who know him a giggle to... we take bets now on which corner or bend..

anon!
This is our 2nd visit to th TT Races and let me tell you it is a well known fact that us visitors bring in a good deal of revenue for the island. Several companies make vast profits during the fortnight because they double the prices. We have booked our ferry crossing for next year and know we wont get much change from £300! Normal price? Under £100!
Mrs Nesbitt
Absolutely right. It really annoys me how the revenue the tourists, like yourself generate for the economy is overlooked. It also appalls me how advantage by ferry, flight, some pubs, and hotels hike up the prices further. Without the faithful like you, returning to support this event and boost our economy the island would be a poorer place, both finacially and for the feel good factor.
Ramsey Daily Photo, Babooshka wholeheartedly supports this event and all hail to the tourists and bikers I say.
See ya next week Mrs N.
Good to see the regulars in the top ten.
Good to see you are busy and have the weather to enjoy it all.
«Top Ten» is also a double T!!!!!
Lovely post!!!
(hey Babooshka, I've just added another T, you must check it out!!!!! It was sent to me by a London Friend after I had post my first T!!! I think you will appreciate it!!!!!
Love the vintage bike. Perhaps the grizzly anons could go on holiday this while the TT is on. I do hope the milkshake maker has bought a fridge! I feel ill everytime I think of that warm milkshake.
Love your post! We have an old Norton, and I love to sit behind my husband for long rides. Have a fun abc:)
I could definitely watch and enjoy a race like this! It is nice to know they still exist.
Great T post Babooshka.
Vintage or new bike, they all are exciting to me.
I used to ride a motorbike, but I'm too feeble now, I keep pulling muscles and there's no way I'd be able to lift a bike if I dropped it. I rode a 550cc Suzuki and a 535cc Yamaha - I couldn't even get one onto it's stand these days!
I've never seen the TT. Might be fun, but I don't know. I like the peace and quite of the IOM.
A typical choice!
An event I have always wanted to see. Thanks for the links to last year. Count me in as a fan of your work. Where do I buy?
Really cool capture!
Is that you on the bike? Wink, wink.
It's a nice action shot and about 'T' i have a 'T' post about the sunset which i chanced upon in Budapest, Wanna see it?;)

If I see you I will be stalking you. These are amazing TT photographs.
I will be in Ramsey at least one day next week all the way from Ohio.
Nice shot!
Many people like to be tourist, but few like to have tourists.
A great shot for sure.
I love being a tourist even when the prices get hiked up. All part of doing business I guess.

Over from TT Forum.
Like the idea. I'm in. We are over Mon. Cracking blog.
What a neat looking bike! Looks like it could be a fun event to watch!
Is he bringing you a warm strawberry milkshake and some microwaved baked beans by any chance?
Gailsman- Nice one. Status update. If he is he can take them straight back to the Trawlerman.
You can feel the sound of speed.

My grandson had some fun on motorcycle rides today. Check my blog at midnight. I'll show him this photo in the morning. I"m not about to wake the little angel up now. We had a looonng day and Mumsie is fixing to crash!

BTW,
"fixing to" is Southern for "getting ready to".
Wonderful! How I envy you and Denise!
Excellent captured, this is great sport but expensive,i mean the machine:).
Another great shot; it must be nice to have so many photo opportunities like this on your doorstep.
Jilly was right when she directed her readers to your blog today. The shot is fantastic!
This is an excellent shot to be sure. A nice shot.
Our Flower Pot
perfect profile of a race!!
love it!
Great photo!
I loved your descriptions, as well.
I haven't watched motorcycle racing for ages, but I used to love the road races. Would love to be there to see the TT!
