Friday already? Must be skywatch.
This is Queens Pier Ramsey, Queens Promenade.
Like the Swing Bridge, Queens Pier is a Ramsey icon that I never tire of photographing. So I will be doing 100 of the pier as well from different angles and times of day. Therefore this is image 1/100. Mad idea, probably. Been into Ikea lately? Same image, different angle.
To join skywatch go to SKYWATCH
The concept was Dot's, the next host WIGGERS WORLD the guardians of skywatch now are Tom, Imac and Sandy

What a wonderful image - iconic even, I'd say.
Hope your hassles with the photo thief are sorted soon - grrrr.
I can see this one (see yesterdays comments!) and its very nice indeed. Another 100 project?! You like a challenge! I look forward to many more.
Gorgeous silhouette against a lovely sky.
You have an amazing eye for photos. This is gorgeous.
Great shot as always. Thanks for sharing!
Cheers!

I think taking 100 photos of the Pier is a wonderful idea. No two will be exactly the same; a wonderful documentary!
I would like to take a walk on that Pier.Beautiful photo:o)
1/100? Great idea. I look forward to seeing some of your favorites. This one was a superb start! The subtle greens and blues mildly enhance the effect of your crisp silhouette. It's almost like a colored B&W.
I am convinced that I need to visit the Isle of Man. This is another wonderful shot.
When are we going to see your Tour Book of the Isle for sale. I am sure you must have spent a lot of time and fantastic digital film throughout your time there.
Thank you for your great work and sharing it with us.
you are such a wealth of information and that is a great photo as well!!
Gill in Canada
I think I would enjoy walking the length of that pier.
Ikea...Aaaaggghh!! We don't mention that word in our house, it causes alot of angst!!!
Once again you've captured the whole aura of where you live... Really enjoy your photos :D
I love all of the earthy colors with the blue sky and all of the cool lines. Great photo :)
Great angle and symmetry! The silhouette is a dramatic addition too!
And thanks for the input, its always a lovely experience for me to learn so much from your posts! Have a happy one!
First class photo and narrative.Love it. Only thing is this was my next topic for my My World post and I've written up half of it already, nevermind I'll just have to think of somnething else........Keep up the great work.
Ah Babooshka, this photograph reminds me of yesteryear. I find it poignant and haunting, yet peaceful.
Oh this is a very impressive photo! I like very much the continuity feeling given by the long pier that you photographed from a very nice angle! Have a perfect Friday and week-end! :-)
That is a very looooong pier. I think you can easily take another 99 photos from different angles/ ;-)
Happy Sky Watch!
Its future may be uncertain, as you say, but it does make for an interesting photo subject.
LB,
Wow! You got the bridge and a pier. Yeah 99 to go. Your photos are the gift that keeps on giving. Kudos!
Love this photo babooshka, it really stood out as I was browsing CDP.
It's shame how so many of the UK's piers are falling into a state of disrepair. Fingers crossed for this one.
This is a nice looking bridge....
Ovely view, so peaceful.
This is absolutely wonderful photograph! I love it!
wonderful perspective on this shot!
what a wonderful, moody shot! lovely. happy swf. :)
Outdone yourself this week. Top this.
Love this photo, Babooshka! Very striking and gorgeous! Have a great weekend.
Beautiful and dreamy scene. Gives the appearance of having no end.
Beautiful composition! Fantastic start to your goal of 100!
You can not tell from your photo that its in bad shape. It looks wonderful.
It may not make a functional pier, but it makes a great photo. Nice composition in this one.
This is amazing! Your photo, while still, looks to be full of energy :)
Wonderful. One of my favorite photos I've seen today :)
~Lisa
Props! Red Bubble is the place.
so very lovely. Thank you and happy swf!
We look forward to the series on this pier just as we look forward to future installments of your bridge series, Babooshka.
Babooshka, I like the three different planes represented here, especially the moodiness of the earth.
Hi Babooshka,
this is an amazing pier and stunning photograph. I´m looking forward to the rest of 99 ones:-)
I always enjoy your sky.
And I also hope that the pier will have some fine future ahead. Finger crossed!
What a great shot, love the angle and the tour
Great shot and lovely colors. That is a long pier---I guess you couldn't take a long walk off a short pier--LOL--MB
you outdid yourself on this shot - again. I love the color & the long line and all the short corssing lines of the bridge. Fabulous.
You always share a good shot and give a good story and explanation about it too.
Thanks!
What a beautiful photo
wonderful perspective!
Love your photo! Beautiful! And thanks for stopping by my site as well. Hope you'll come back again!
Love your stuff, photos documenting history. Go for the 100. Hope the pier is around for a long while.
I;ll bet you can get 100 interesting shots of the pier, especially if you can get on it for some of the shots. Nice sunset too!
superbe panorama et photo. la lumière du ciel est très belle.
superb panorama and photo. the light of heaven is very beautiful
Absolutely stunning image, Baboosh! Sky Watch winner, for sure!
Beautiful sky and with the pier looks so awesome!
Nice shot!
Thanks for sharing the photo as well as the history.
Hugs
Nice Skywatch! That's one looooong bridge!
Thank You for the history of this bridge...
Your photo is very nice...
Is the bar closed à the end of the bridge ???
Very interesting story that you tell about of this bridge.
On the picture, I love the backlight that you've achieved. It feels great calm.
I love British piers. I was sorry when the one burnt down at Weston Super Mare.
I love that very dramatic silhouette against the soft pastels of the sky and water. But so sad about the pier itself. When I first saw the photo (before reading the text), my first thought was "Wow. That's the longest pier I have ever seen!"
Beautiful photo! looks like a nice place to sit and watch a sunset... or sunrise =)
It's awsesome.
I can't think of a good enough adjective to describe this one. Love the sky and the angle. Perfect. BJ
A really beautiful shot! Thanks for all the information, too! I love learning something new every day. :)
That is beautiful. Love the colors and your angle.
This should be made into a postcard :)
Beautiful!
babooshka! your photos really never ran out of overflowing mood! This is stunningly wonderful! The colors in it are very much exquisite!
Steven^^
Absolutely beautiful, and sad that it's coming to the end of it's story...
Thanks for visiting Prairie Visions!
Beautiful photo for SWF. The bridge is beautiful and love the reflection in the water.
Love this capture of the pier. Look forward to the next 99. Hopefully the pier wont be demolished in the meantime. I have been to so many places where old buildings bridges etc are only valued after they cease to exist.
The old lady look grand.
That's a beautiful pier. I love the way you shot it to show off the pier and the sky. I hope it will be able to be restored.
I really like this perspective. And the sky is so pretty behind.
Beautiful blue sky for SWF.
Thank for droping by my blog.
Have a nice weekend.
Wow B! All these comments! And all I wanted was to say what a fantastic image this is - that pier goes on for ever.
omg i adore photos with black silhouettes, magic!
I love this photo; it makes me feel I'm there. The reflections in the water on the beach are lovely.
Thanks for sharing this one--happy SWF!
A beautiful pier. Part of my early teens was spent in Brighton with happy memories of the West and Palace piers. I believe at least one has burned down, not sure about the other. this is lovely.
Looks like it should be a on a postcard. Wonderful capture.
Yeah, what they said. I can't read 75 comments. I'm sure they all told you it's a very fine shot Babs.
My dear blog friend with the amazing capture of Queens Pier. I have actually been very drawn lately to the idea of generating a book highlighting cloud types and photos. Thank you so much for urging me that way!
Beautiful atmosphere! Very interesting almost ... vintage colors.
Oh my, what a stunning image of what is to me a very familiar view. I am excited at this project of yours, it will be a very interesting and telling challenge, one of which I have no doubt you will happily rise to.
Fantastic photo, all those colours and angles are enough to make it an interesting photo but all the more so with your explanation.
Thanks for sharing and your kind comments on my jaccaranda post.
Very intersting photo, as usual. :-)
Great shot!
Lovely colors!
Have a great weekend.
Very beautiful shot.
Have a great weekend.
Simply perfect!
WOW!
This has to be the best pier photo I have ever seen. Make this a postcard.
How sad that the pier is closed now! It's such a fabulous structure. And a lovely photo to boot.
Another 100 photos, you're going to be busy. What does the Ikea photo look like. Is it one of yours?
Hopefully the pier can be mended and reopened to visitors someday soon.
Wonderful image, and I enjoyed the history lesson. 100 photos, why not!
Babooshka: What a lovely capture of the sky over the pier. Excellant SWF photo.
Friends of Queen Pier, is that still going. Super photo.
Beautiful swf picture! I thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog.
Enjoy the weekend!
Impressive shot and lovely perspective!
wow, gorgeous shot! Great job!
Interesting history of the old pier. It's a shame it's going to ruin. Looks like it would be a wonderful place to walk out and enjoy a sunset. Your photo is beautiful!
Very nice shot and story about the pier. That's a long pier.
I think this is a great idea-love this shot!
Great sky and super silhouette shot!
Gorgeous pier.
Amazing!!!
Absolutly beautiful.
This is a great shot...the brige seems so endless. The sky is great, too :-)
Jaw-droppingly-gorgeous!!!!
Colour, light and perspective are perfect!!!!
Wow, what a beautiful shot! I like the contrast of the pier against the sky.
It goes on forever and disappers in to the horizon. Brilliant!
An interesting shot of the endless bridge. Endless it seems. Very good photo. Hope to see more of those 100 photographs.

Great Pier shot. Beautiful taken and colors.
A visit to your blog is so satisfying - beautiful picture, illuminating text!
I like the way you shoot and it is a beautiful silhouette against a colorful sky.
Wonderful image :)
The sky is quite lovely, but I am glad I don't have to drive across the bridge.
I appreciate your informative comments and the photo with green reflections in the water is lovely.
Wonderful shot of the pier. That's a very long one!
I have never seen so many commentaries!
Well deserved for a great picture!
Fantastic! The colour of the sky, the silhouette of the bridge, and the perfectly straight lines of the bridge itself, and the water, all make up a stunning photo. Well done, as usual!
Nice perspective and interesting color balance between the blue and the green.
That's a wonderful view. All your images are beautiful. Thanks, friend.
thats a great skywatch picture. how its dark at the bottom, then the bridge setting it off and the gorgeous bright sky! cool!
