D is for drunk and disorderly

                                         Fancy a pint?

As everyone knows who follows this blog, I like a drink or several. The words Jack Daniels have been posted here a lot. However, I don't like others drinking habits recently. Happy drunk, is I, but others turn into the devil! Suddenly that really nice friend, neighbour, colleague, folks you vaguely know but always say hi too, and folks who are strangers to you, go a little crazy. Or is their true personality popping out to say hello? We even have a day on this island (Black Eye Friday) when the whole town have a brawl. What is it about drink that people suddenly can't or pretend they can't recall what they did or didn't say the night before, or worse do the night before. Drink is not an excuse to grope a girl, or worse. Ok, the upside of drink is people can be funny drunks, uninhibited and life and soul of the party. Had lots of fantastic nights with those kind of friends and strangers. The big singalongs, all good. But why the hell would you continue drinking lads if you scare, your lass friends, by hitting on the lasses in a full on way. Quite nasty. I love Jack Daniels, but I can handle a drink or several. Pity a few idiots I know can't. Detox folks, stay in and leave the alcohol to us grown ups, and by that I don't say the young folk, I say a fair few fully grown adult guys, who really behave badly to their lass friends. Now where did I put the JD.

You haven't lost your witty style.

You are right! Drink can be very relaxing if you still have control over your speech, body and thoughts, but as soon as you are behaving different and don't know what you say, it is time to stop drinking or else you will be very sorry the day after.
Thanks for this post.

Great post for D day. People should definitely know their limits. I used to be a happy tipsy style drinker. Unfortunately I'm on long term pain management so am afraid of mixing alcohol and meds. I limit myself to special occasion drinks a few times a year now. I don't miss it too much, surprisingly. Carver, ABC Wednesday Team

Some folks can handle the drink while others can't, or just don't know when to stop.

Cheers!

I tended to be a flirty drunk, back in the day.

Ugly drinkers aren't fun to be around. Been around a few and I wouldn't wait to get away.

And, JD is made in America! Although I don't drink it, I do cook with it from time to time.

Great post... and so necessary. I love Jack as much as the rest, but unlike you I cannot hold too much. So I become a social drinker (not driver) and never have more than one... the Detriment of being a short, thin female...

I know you can hold a drink. You are right too. Ramsey is being spoiled by stupid people. Great write up. Nice beer too.

I was a bit of a sloppy drunk, so I gave it up entirely.

Although there is a lot of the usual humour in this, the essence of seriousness of the post seems to have struck a chord with you. I advocate moderation for those that cannot handle their drink, and just cause, havoc and distress for those of us than can. I like being a happy, happy drunk so idiots who become monsters, do like a gremlin and stay off the grog.
