The rude woman on the bus

The only problem I have with public transport is the public

This is a very off the cuff post. Bear with me as they say in customer services, just got to get this little tale form today off my chest. It all happened on that thing above. Well not actually that bus above but one from this fleet docked in Ramsey Bus Station. This is an archive I have grabbed quickly with a wide angled crop from the old point and shoot. It serves the purpose though as the event took place on one of these buses.

The tale. A group of kids (boy and girl Scouts) were conducting a mini survey. Very sweet and very polite. Not bothering anyone at all.Well you know me. Love to have my opinion. They asked everyone the same few questions. My turn. I answered honestly. The rude woman behind me said, and more than one person heard her" I don't like her" meaning me. My crime? To answer a question about the island with an honest answer. She didn't even say it quietly. Last question the kids asked was "were are you from originally" to which my answer being England resulted in rude woman making that snorting noise people do when they are disgusted with something. There are of course words other than rude for that woman of course. Thanks so much rude woman for showing yourself up to a bunch of well meaning well mannered kids. Also for showing the island's people in a negative light. Not me with the honest answer, but you with your rude negative attitude.Silly woman. As for me. Proceeded to talk about how I can't wait to go on holiday to the best country in the world, France, soon.Ha! Ha!

So that was the bus journey from Douglas to Ramsey today. I hope the Scouts from Ireland don't think too badly of the folks here. Rude woman (you ain't no lady) did you mama not tell you if you can't say anything nice keep ya gob shut. You have done the Isle of Man and Manxies a disservice today not I.

Chuck - I do, I really do. Such a stupid rude woman shall we say mature in years not in mind. If only I had the camera with me, but alas this was a shopping day.

I will feel even better if she blushes when she reads this.

Give me five! Been there...now dont let it get to you...You're doing the Isle of Man a great service through your photos...all she does is that...lol.

Btw, hi chuck!

Hi Mirage- Of course you would know all about this on a much larger scale. She really was just plain silly.

Bad for you but fun for us to read. At your best ranting.

Why in the hell do people behave like that??? It would've pissed me off too! But at least we have the good old blogging world -- all of whom know where we're coming from when we piss and moan. I'm with you, hope you feel better now!

You were nice... I would heve turned around ans said, "Fruck of" or something close to that! I agree, adults get in the way of a good time, constantly!

Hey B, something tells me you need a chill pill ;) If someone acts like her, best response is to turn around and laugh gently at her - then share the same laugh with the kids and carry on answering their questions. Everyone will know who had the last laugh!

I've always wanted a plaque or a t-shirt or a crest or soemthing that says "Ignorance Abounds". But I wanted to say it in Latin, and I could never find a reliable translation for it.

I think it would sound so much cooler in Latin. Don't you?

It could only happen to you! (Well not really, there are rude people the world over.) At least you got a good post out of it and got it off your chest, cheaper than therapy!

Very good. I don't use public transportation, not available and don't like all the public. Cute bus.

What were a group of Scouts from Ireland doing a survey on a bus on The Isle of Man ?
Don't worry about the silly rude women, sure they are all around us. Lets be PC and silly rude men also.

The other half and I had just had a pleasant day holiday shopping too. It was quite amusing though and for once I get my gob shut. Just waffled about the beauty of France which she obviously found most annoying. Mojo go for the Latin. Laughable on the surface to make such a sweeping statement as "don't like her" on one answer but the undertones of racism, because I'm English and not Manx not so funny. Marley quite right, blogging is the best outlet and afterall this English lass has raised the profile of the Isle of Man in a positive way than this idiot with her negative insular attitude ever could. Manxies aren't all like this I have to say but that is a sample of the crap you get. Mononeil, not a clue but they were a lovely polite bunch of kids and can catch by bus anytime.

Gah! i wonder if she'd have said it if she were face to face with you? I somehow doubt it.

How very rude she was, and yes, there are other words for her. I love the IOM. I'd be very happy to live there, if it weren't for the fact that it would be so hard to visit my elderly disabled mother. But people like that would make me think twice.

Still, they're everywhere, aren't they? Immature, selfish and uncaring of others... there are no boundaries for these people. *Sigh*

To laugh was the right idea. I am Manx and I don't give a jot where someone is from. If you come over and make a healthy contribution, like this blog then great to have you. She probably moans about everything and you were just unlucky.

And they say children are rude. Quite a few others like her on this little island I'm afraid though the majority are great and have welcomed me and my family with open arms. Off to France soon then?....Wish I was going there though I do have a holiday in Wales planned in the future.

Hahaha, I think most rude people are not happy all the time, they keep complaining. I can be twice as rude to a rude person...hehehe. Over here, better think twice about being rude, we have citizen taking photo of them via phone camera and post on the website use to shame these people. I once too photo of a rude young man eating noodle in the train (faints*) but I did not post it to the popular website just my blog...lol.

Well, at least she was polite in her rudeness. She could have used the word hate. Not liking is similar to hate; we have much to much of that in this world. I wonder why this...ah...person was eavesdropping in the first place.

And had I been asked that question by the children; I may have answered the doghouse. I'm usually in the doghouse for any of my domestic infractions.

I was talking to an older member of the family on the phone.
Trying to help sort out a problem she had caused? (paying bills twice etc) under her breath she said "Oh shut up"...:-/
I said, what did you say, answer came, what what....
Then I had to really bite my tongue...lol
This is a person who can not remember from one hour to the next...
It bloody hurts...lol
As to your rude woman, I have found true Manx people fine....
Nephew's in-laws live there.....
Good for you keeping your calm...
Have a nice day.

Hehe, I gather you didn't like her that much too. But you are far too sophisticated to say it out loud. Thank Elvis for Blogs ;-)

Prejudice against outsiders is frightenly common, and often along the lines of " i dont like people of your nation, colour religion etc, BUT personally, you're alright! Which just proves that its fear of the unknown.
My ex-wife was told 33 years that "the best thing to do with "come-overs" was to put them on the ferry -and sink it, nothing personal."
Ah well at least you aren't a "when I"

It's not come overs or stop overs that bother me. We need you for the economy. It's people who stash their money here and never visit, just take the top up on the cash.

Pfft! She clearly had no idea who she was talking to! Anyone is welcome move to live anywhere, as long as they join in with and add to the community they've chosen - which you are most certainly doing. Keep smiling!

Would you like to join in a giveaway over on my blog?

Nikki-ann said...

She's obviously somebody who should keep her opinions to herself!

Some people just go through life with a miserly soul, no doubt she was one of them. LOL at France!

BTW I had a public transport intervention moment whilst in Chicago, I plan on relating it Monday if you're interested.
