IN THE MEADOW - MY WORLD

Go wild in the country!

My World

This was definitely not taken today. It's been pis... I mean persisting down all day. A very grey day. We seem to be having one gorgeous day followed by one crap day. Obviously this was one of the better days, not the best but getting there. Spring certainly has spring here in the meadow. Yep this is one of the wild and wonderful meadows of the Poyll Dooey nature reserve. No I didn't wander over there in my kimono and fluffy mules all before the kettle boils. Yes it is close enough to do this but I don't want to carted away by the neighbours for being slightly potty. Anyway back to the meadow.

Poyll Dooey has a series of nature trails running through it. It also has a few of these wild meadows. As spring gets underway I'll show you the wild flowers that bloom while we follow the trails passing many wonderful birds, rabbits, dragonflies, ladybirds (ladybugs to some of you) and dogs. It is doggie heaven,( no white dog poo to report though.) Take a step off the nature trails and walkways and you will find yourself wading through overgrown scrub land. Another turn to the pond lillies featured before Wild grasses and wild flowers a plenty to be found here in the meadows such as this. A beautifully maintained picnic area sits in lovely secluded area. Click pretty coloured links below for some rather different sunset meadow images. It is dark in the meadow!

All About Eve anyone?

I can relate to your pis-- sorry, wet weather, but for the past two days we've had glorious sunshine and warm temps that would go beautifully with the gorgeous photo of yours! Do be careful of the neighbors, but love getting your shots! Have a great week!

As our spring is on the way out with the grasses already turning brown, I look forward to enjoying spring on the Isle of Man through your eyes.

What a wonderful walk through your meadow and to see all the sunsets too.
Come and visit - one lucky plucker.

It looks so different by night. Wild meadows are my favourite kind.

Sounds like your weather's about the same as ours here today. And I see I have a good bit of catching up to do too!

Which I will do after I can leave my day job behind for the evening. Unless of course something waylays me along the way. Like those lightning shots I've been so anxious to try out. (Could be... the conditions are pretty good for it...)

Now isn't that the most enchanting scene. What lovely places you have just a stone trhow away from home. I can well imagine it to be doggie heaven. MY two would just love it there. Trouble is a few rabbits might be decimated at the same time.

What a wonderful meadow. I hope you'll get some pretty days soon. I'd love to be lying on a blanket in that meadow right now, although not necessarily if it's pouring rain.

Babooshka: What a neat meadow, I bet there were a lot of animals wondering around in all that greenery.

Those are gorgeous sunsets over your meadow. Hope you get at least a couple of nice days in a row so you can enjoy the spring.

Never mind spring it looks like summer has arrived, especially if its now raining!

I like the image in my head of a mad woman wandering through the reserve, camera in hand, in her dressing gown and slipprs! Lol! As you say, the locals might have something to say about it though!

B,
this is just a gorgeous spot of your isle. I'd like to see more from here. Thanks for your remarks today but I don't think my portraits were my best effort . Ever have days when you should have been more attentive to details etc.? Maybe you don't since you're the pro, but I'm still feeling my way. I think my work was sloppy today.

I finished my springcleaning, so now I have time to see allthe other posts I've missed! Great place to roam about. That's so nice about our countries: you can freely roam about without fear of stepping on a snake or meeting an angry wild beast.

I hope the weather improves for you. A series of gray, dreary days does start to get you down.

The colors in this photo are fabulous though! Maybe it will perk you up.
