Watery waves for a w

Water, Water everywhere.Justify Full Well I do live on an island!

Just in case you are wandering that little snide remark above showing who the post belongs to is
aimed squarely at another rip off foreign blog who merged the text with a paragraph of their own, no image last week. So try trolling this one without coming unstuck. Back to the letter. What else do you have on an island but watery waves splish splashing around. Slight twist this week though.

The image is a very tiny crop of a very large image of a crashing wave of the Irish sea breaking on the rocks of Ramsey. Just to show you how sharp you can get an image, but you really need to be exact with the large photo if you want to crop the tiniest amount to make a new clear image. I do like the slightly minty green hue and dirty yellow splashes of colour. Chalk this one up to being arty farty and can't be bothered putting a beautiful image on tonight in case the blog bandits are out there. We will call this my "Turn on a Turner Abstract Seascape " Babooshka'a mint period, if that's ok with you blog thief.

I'll be honest with you, you lost me at 'crop', but I love the photo nonetheless!

a wave frozen in time - great detail.

Fantastic image of the wave. I once also had a photo like that and it did have that minty green hue with it. Yes, I actually post it in January:

There are some damn sods out there. Hopefully while there are those who steal lets hope there are more who can do good. A memeber of CDP http://tehranlive.org/
has gone missing. There are many articles on the news channels here is the Life report
http://www.life.com/image/first/in-gallery/28782/eyewitness-from-tehrans-streets
Can we help find him?

Oh Mo that is dreadful.Thank you for letting me know. It has really hit home with me now just what the CDP is all about.

Beautiful image and when I enlarged it, I thought it looks like snow instead of water.

Off with the heads of blog thieves!

That is a pretty cool color from a wave! Gosh, I wonder if I've been hit by the blog bandit? Talk about someone not having an imagination, a brain or a life!!!

Too bad about the blog bandits. I never would have guessed this was a tiny crop from a much larger photo. It's amazingly crisp.
Perfect W for one who lives on an island.

Great watery shot...so W indeed. I didn't know you were hosting ABC too. :)

Oh, I just love this picture. It is so perfect. I can feel and hear the water in the picture.

Truly arty this week Babooshka. I find it fascinating how different water shots appear depending on the angle and the lighting of the moment.

I grew up next to our river which is 350 miles long. We bathed and played in the river. Your photo showed the water waves/droplets when we splashed the water against each other. Non of the siblings still live there, but we all had great memories of that river.

Thanks for visiting my site.

I will do a post on W, on water if that is okay. i am married to a water engineer and have no shortage of water photos.

Cheers,

Ann :)

Awesome snap. I wonder how the big picture would really look

I don't know why, exactly, but when I first looked at this photo, I thought I was looking at the top of a head being shampooed and the head was shaking the water and soap all over the place.

So, I have an active imagination. Is that so bad?

;-)

Love the photo, Babooshka!

I would like to see the bigger image too. How big does an image have to be to make a clear crop. Thank you

I wish we could get some water around here! Another week of high 90s - 100 degree temps and no relief in sight! I'll just have to look at your water for a little refreshment. :)

Simply gorgeous water splashing towards you! :-)

We had our share of water coming from the heavens over the last three days.

Great capture of the water in motion. Awesome!

Oh, I hate scrapers and content-stealers! I don't blame you for adding the comment. It's why I always put a copyright notice on my pictures - at least then they can't say they didn't know!

Love the crop, whatever the reason you did it!

Gaelyn said...

Love the crop job. Image really shows the details of the wave. You've certainly caught it with a feeling of splash motion.

Sorry to hear about thieves. I'd hoped for a safe venue here.

Grr... blog bandits! Hangin's too good for 'em I say! There's one I've got my eye on for ripping off not me, but Violence UnSilenced. I ask you-- who steals from that blog? Dirty bastards. Nothing is sacred. I digress.

I wouldn't have guessed this was a tight crop if you hadn't said so, but it's a technique I use on a lot of my moon shots. I don't have near enough lens (yet) to reach that far, so I reach out and touch as much of it as I can, and then crop it to finished size without resizing.

(And then I compress then within a pixel of their lives to keep the blog bandits from wanting them!)

Oh, and I love this... it's almost an abstract. I had a similar one in black & white a few weeks ago, but it didn't have this much motion in it.
