JOHN CRELLIN - RIP
John Crellin - RIP
Sadly John Crellin, from the Isle of Man, died today competing in the Senior Race, Isle of Man TT 2009 Road Races. Condolences from all here on the island to John's family.

I am so heartbroken! John was my father's cousin and we have been in touch over the years; I recently communicated with him via email about his Mt. Everest climb. I'm so sick from sadness :(

Condolences from London. It is hard for all the other riders as well when something like this happens. Hard for Babooskha too who was having such a great time.
Feel this is such an inadequate post. I'm an Italian journalist and I keep a sporting obituaries section for a sports website. I would like to feature such an exceptional charachter as John Crellin in it, because I feel his story and career deserves it. I would like to know, if it is possible, the date and place he was born. I also would like to extend my condolences to everybody who knew him.
Always tragic when someone goes before their time. But I suspect if you'd asked him, this is how he'd have chosen to go out (barring perhaps old age and checking out in his sleep).
How odd that the last interview question was what he'd want his epitaph to be.
Billie, As a friend of John's I applaud this post, no false sentiment. Just like John would want no fuss just to let us know he slipped away doing what he loved. May I suggest you see the IOM guides for riders. Please respect the family and friends wishes and keep it simple. You didn't know him we did personally we did. I hope you understand.

So sorry. Not a sport I follow but I'm sure his passing is a tragic loss to his fans and family.
This is a very sad post, not only because it's about his death but also because it's so immediate. Memorials are important!
