CANNES YOU BELIEVE BABOOSHKA WAS NOT INVITED!

Well now I hope that title got your attention. A scandal has befallen these shores. I will be seeking solace in a strong black coffee and trying to stay calm. Why you ask well read on.

You all know how I just love the South of France, the Riviera. You have read of my wish to be that away. Well I am hyperventilating at the scandalous news. A yacht was hired and certain people to represent the Isle of Man film industry at the Cannes Film Festival...... paid for by the tax payer to the tune of... a helluva lot of pennies. Now this has caused lots of letters of disgust to the papers and mumblings of "waste of money" etc. Surely though this is not the burning issue? Surely the burning issue is the fact that I was not invited on said yacht to jolly there. Hello look at the blog you idiots, just how many images do you want to show you what a splendiferous film location this is and your cinematographer is here waiting for you. Tour guide at your service! Besides all that.... I missed out on no.

As you can see I have taken the news well. Not a yacht but a boat bobbing on the water, Sorry folks. We don't get many of those luxury yachts here.

I feel your pain. They just didn't realise what they missed on by not taking you - a slightly unhinged photographer. On the other hand maybe they did... Lol!

Never mind, you've got a nice colourful photo today :)

What give with the milkshake? Their loss not asking you. Very colourful and large photo. Punchy.

What can one say, any IOM film would have to have the swing bridge in it, together with the great sunsets.

I thought your photo might have been just red and green. Red for anger, green for jealousy.

On a personal note, I've just got black and white stripes in front of my eyes after reading your sad tale. I always do after reading about your exploits. Any chance of a revamp?

Sometimes you win
Sometimes you lose
Sometimes it's coffee
Sometimes it's booze
Sometimes Babooshka
Is banned from Cannes.

And that ain't nice!

Nice photo, though! Nothing wrong with a colorful Ramsey yacht!

Woe is the bureaucrat with a piss-poor talent for looking the gift horse in the mouth. Meaning what a bunch of goofs not to have taken Babooshka along on the yacht!

Super photo - who needs yachts anyway.

Is this swingbridge #20? (I'm counting) Cannes can't be all that decent a place - it doesn't have a DP!

it's not just you - being passed over is the story of my life!

Well, I know how you feel. I wasn't invited to the official state dinner with President Boris Tadic and Vice-President Joe Biden here in Belgrade last night either. An obvious oversight, but one Bibi shall not forget (or forgive, ha, ha.)

Cannes loss!

Babooshka said...

A- No not no. 20. That will be soon. Your comment about not having DP made me lol. Put that way you are absolutely right of course, but Nice, Menton, Monte Carlo do fabulous ones.

I was waiting to see scantily clad starlets on top of yachts. Now I´m disappointed too!:-)Get there soon!

You're still grousing about the milkshake episode? Let it go girl... You keep carrying around that anger, it'll eat you up inside.

Cannes is overrated. We've got the for-cryin'-out-lout Ramsey swing bridge to see here! What's Cannes got on that I ask you? Nothing!.

Besides, any bunch that would ignore our Babooshka... harumph and sniff and a heart razzberry with thumb firmly placed on nose.

I do sympathise. How could they do that? ;-)

Glad HH greyscale has a calming effect.

Boo Hoo "Lot of White Poo if you ask me.lol.
Poor Babooshka, never mind, you wouldnt enjoy it, cause you be too busy and we would lose-out with no postings from you.

Shame on Cannes (I was not invited either)! But your photo is beautiful, never mind about them! :-)

The NOIVE that you weren't one of the Ramsey delegates to Cannes! What's wrong with them?
I do love the photo with this post anyway though - love water shots like this...

Shall we protest more vigorously to get them to take you to the South of France? Who are them anyway?

Wait a minute! Is that part of the world famous Ramsey Swing Bridge hovering ever so gently above this boat? Or are my eyes deceiving me?

You take rejection so well -:)))

Awwww. I can tell you're a little... miffed. I don't blame you. What an opportunity that would have been. :-(

You must be absolutely devastated. I hope you're on the mend by now! After all, if you had been in Cannes you wouldn't have been able to take the monochrome picture of the monochrome bank holiday weather... Thanks for your advice re manual photography on my SWF post.
Janice.
