RAMSEY ON THE ROCKS

On a clear day(not today then)
http://dailyphotoisleofman.blogspot.com/

What did I say I was going to treat you to this week? A series of images on and around the beach.
What has the weather been like today horrendous.
Rain all day long. So no this image was no taken today but earlier in the week. Typical isn't it. Remind me not to suggest
a beach photography shoot in January ever again. Of course the post is also late for me. You guessed it. Friday is pub night.
Babooshka had an appointment to keep with Mr Jack Daniels and his close personal friend coke cola.

If You had seen the crashing waves images on Ramsey Daily Photo then you will possibly recognise this
place. It's standing on the jetty again looking down onto the rocks. No two days are ever the same
in the week it was so clear with the lovely
lucid green tone. When it's like this and still you really can
see all the way to the seabed quite a way out. not often like this though as I'm hoping to show you
that is if it ever stops raining! If you are a bird spotter this is a good place to stand. Often find groups
of shorebirds of many varieties resting on the rocks. Even the elusive cormorant family of birds
can be seen here. Seldom but it has happened.

Still having blog issues, but some have been resolved. Remember now comments are open on this post
for a few days then they will be closed to new comments to stop the the spam bots and trolls.
The facebook experiment continues. I'm finding it a really useful back up to the sight and it's a great place
to add some videos for you to see.

Hopefully we can have some better days and I can get onto the beach ad photograph whatever I find.
Surely I won't find anything as strange as the chair in the nature reserve on the beach, but this is
a mad town so you never know. What's the weirdest thing you've found on a beach?

I love the clarity of the water. I thought clear shore water like that was primarily found at tropical beaches.

On your blog spam issues, I was under the impression that blogspot (i.e. google) was pretty good at filtering that stuff. Apparently not. My blog isn't frequented that much, but I do get spammers trying to 'comment'. Since I have to approve new commentors they never get through. For a while I was getting an awful lot of spam attempts, but since I host my own domain I was able to find their IPs, normally some obscure country, and then I just ban the whole block of IPs that the offending IP originated from. That has drastically cut down on the spam attempts.

Water is what we need more over here. Nice color though.

It is so clear. I thought you were part of the UK. Didn't know you are a country island.

Nice angle. Love the color of the rocks, and the transparent water.

No visiting the beach any time soon for us here in Florida either - will be below freezing for more than 12 hours tonight and might break a record for the day (though it has been colder - I've seen it 3 degrees, yes, in Florida). As for weird things on the beach, not usually too much as the patrols do a good job keeping it clean and free of crazy trash - the weirdest things are usually the homeless people who have mental problems...

Such clear waters, even in the rain. Hope that stops so you can show us more beach stuff. I don't spend much time on beaches, so what I find is rocks, shells & bones.

Sorry to hear about the blog problems. I just don't get it.

I had the same problem with my images. I may have the answer for you. No promises but an idea to kick around. Email you with the details. Results take about 2 weeks so no quick fix. All the best.

That makes me want to get out my dive gear and look round under there!

Lovely colour. I wish I was there now.

You make Ramsey bay look inviting.

Interesting post but some of the words on the On The Rocks post are obscured by your right sidebar. I don't know if that was intentional or if it is a problem.

This looks like it would be exciting rock exploring.Crabs and small fish and all manner of interesting things. Is the seaweed the edible sort?

Yes, the right sidebar is blocking some of the words for me too - that's never happened before.

That's a lovely photo - anyone would think it was Mediterranean (too bad the temperatures aren't, eh?!).

I've got the same problem as Abraham and Jackie with text not wrapping within the space properly.

I'm using Firefox 3 - I'll perhaps see if the problem persists in Safari and/or IE7

OK -
Firefox 3

first paragraph reads

..series of imag

.. series of

What has ...

Looking at the lower paras in IE7 there are some strange line breaks in the middle of sentences - I suspect you copy-pasted into the compose box from word-processed text and blogger added extra line breaks. It is only this post that seems to be affected. Earlier ones look OK in FF3.

Great water shot! I love it when it's clear and you can see the bottom.

All,

I copied and pasted from a draft I had earlier, not word. It's Fine when I looks at the draft, but printed like this. I can only use safari on this laptop, borrowed remember. Sorry folks, nothing I can do about this post. Just enjoy the image. Need time out.

IT looks like it could have been taken on the Med! The water looks lovely but a bit too cold for a dip!

Although some of your words were lost to me the picture is beautiful. The water is as clear as some of our mountain streams.

That looks so tropical I can hardly believe it's the Irish Sea..

The only reason waters around coastal areas usually is unclear is because of sediment and not pollution (as some might think). Small islands very often have clear waters because there just isn't the area of land for sediment to run off and cloud the sea - hence the waters around the Isle of Man are crystal clear.

Clear water - just like somewhere in the Meditteranean! How wonderful! The coast here is all grotty and rubbishy so it's nice to see some crystal clear, untampered water!

Very pretty! I love the green. By coincidence I have a "green" water photo scheduled for tomorrow, so drop by!

Notice I didn't say, "drop in," ha, ha. You beat me to my Barbicide pun on Virgina's blog, so I have to do something!

I love me some Jack D. at my house too but I like it with club soda (seltzer to most of you)! My friend was contemplating having her one in Paris and we overheard these two French guys at the bar laughing about the "Americans and Jock Daniels"! Jock or Jack it's all good , right B?

Your beach photo is gorgeous.. Reminded me of a winter trip to the Cayman Islands a zillion years ago. Nice!
