Theme Day - Ageing

                           Strolling not Sprinting

Another theme day post that has many interpretations. I toyed with many ideas from dying leaves to abandoned buildings, and settled for this capture, an older ageing resident of Ramsey walking her dog. It's an ageing image in many senses too. Not just the lady herself, her faithful four legged companion, but also a photograph that is ageing in itself taken roughly 6 years ago. An older favourite. The ageing generation of my hometown are amongst the keenest and most active dog walkers. It's good to see, age has not marginalized them in this pass time, like so many other areas of life we all one day will reach. Ageing is still living, just pace is slower, gentler, not the flush of a youthful sprint.

a neat photo
I walk a lot and want to be an active person when I am older :)
good on her and you for capturing this beautiful photo I can see why she is walking where she is :)

great contribution and I especially like your explanation that the photo itself is aging (smile) ... on a personal note my wife and I are firm believers that walking daily will allow us to live an active life as we continue to age.

A very thoughtful image- quite evocative of time and place.

I very much appreciate this image with its curtains of privacy, and seclusion, Jane. A very particular response to the theme.

I appreciate this image. I am struggling with days when my knees are crap and I hate the hell out of it.
Grateful to now get around and not limp like an old lady in our AGING theme!

lovely shot Jane - we see lots of dog walkers of all ages on the nearby trail here

Love this black & white image Jane, even more so because it's a wee bit aged. Dogs + older folk + walking = many happy hours of exercise and companionship, wonderful choice for today.

I like your take on the theme, Jane! And it seems fitting to be in monochrome!

Love it! :-)
A splendid image, that really needs to be clicked upon and enlarged, so it can be appreciated in all its details!

Thoughtful ideas that I completely agree with. Super image too!

Strolling, not sprinting. Maybe that is a good description for aging. And, of course, while taking the time to stroll, we see (and enjoy) small delights that in our past sprinting years we simply passed over.
