PATHS & PASSAGEWAYS THEME- MOORAGH CROSSROADS

Which Path would you choose?

Mooragh Park has many paths as you would expect. This though is the only place where two paths converge and the choice is made. The one on the left(looking onto the image) leads you out of the park into suburbia and further choices of twists and turns. The one on the right leads deeper into and around the park. To add a little mystery to the image The right hand pand path is shot in soft focus(manual setting) leaving the left hand crystal clear. This is no indication of the path I chose though. Coincidentally if you follow either path and follow them to their conclusion eventually you could arrive at the same destination at the end of the promenade and beach leaving Ramsey. How often do we have two choices leading to the same conclusion? I will leave you to ponder which path you would choose.

Many cities participate in Theme Day. It is just for fun, not a photography contest.

WONDROUS how you worked this photo! And even though BOTH paths are very inviting, I'll choose the right one. Great to know they both converge! :-)

Oh my. The memories (makes me sound old - but hey 33 was old when I used to be 10 playing around on these paths). Great shot :) I grew up in Ramsey (actually left the Island for Nov 2007, and now living in Texas) but my family have lives in Ramsey for 100's of years (literally) and its great to see your pictures and a perspective of Ramsey that I can relate too :)

Soft focus on the right only... how?

Terrific image. I'm off to the left path - gotta take the path that takes you up in life and not down ;)

We have superannuation adverts here (in Australia) that use an "up/down" path concept - this location would be perfect for that campaign.

I of course will take the low road! Anything to keep from climbing a hill. I like the glorious greens on my path as well. Just a gorgeous shot, B. How was your birthday???

A beautiful image; I have a lot to learn about photography. I would take the right "mysterious" path.

I was first drawn to the high road but the more I look at it I think I'll take the soft focus road, the bags under my eyes might look better! Lol :)

Keith said...

Easy choice. I'd take the green path avoiding suburbia as long as possible. Beautiful photo.

George said...

What a choice. I think I'll take the path to the right -- it looks more peaceful. But either way this is a fascinating photo with a great piece of philosophy to go with it.

Nice pic. Like the mystery of the path on the right. Well played.

Always take the road less travelled!

LB,

I'd guess I'd take the beach path. Which did you take?
How close to downtown is the park? The shadows really hook you.

I agree w/Stan. But let me add, that has made all the difference.

Paul said...

the one on the right is where i would be

I can't make up my mind about your island, one day it looks urbanized, the next bucolic. It's nice to have choices.

bass said...

:) I'd take both paths, first the mysterious one, then I'd take the other one in going back. Happy Sunday!

Rob said...

Tough choice. Always a pleasant, solitary walk in the park. but if one travels on the left path, one may meet a friend, perhaps meet a new friend. What's more is maybe these newfound friends would be willing to have a pint, of a mug of coffee. Always good to keep in touch with people.

Lavenderlady said...

Excellent question. I think it would depend on the day.

Choices choices. Where should we go--this way or that. It seems we all end up at the same place, but still we have to make the choice.
Neat shot. MB

Definitely downhill though the light makes this one more tempting.

the fork-shaped path and your write-up both have given me food for thought.

A happy February to you!

Hi Babooshka

Happy Theme Day!

I would take the left side on a lazy day. :-) If I want some adventure, I would take the right path.

Gerald (SK14) said...

I'd possibly take the left hand as following the right going down would probably end up with a need to climb back up again and these days I'm a lazy walker.

Jilly said...

This is just lovely - the road less travelled, of course! I can't say which road I'd take. The left road - well I want to know where it leads, so I'm tempted. The right hand track is the more natural looking one - it draws me. Knowing me I'd walk one, come back and walk the other but who knows how much energy I'd have. I find myself faced with these dilemmas often when walking around here. Love the photo, the shadows, the pull of those two tracks.

A lovely picture and a thought-provoking question to go with it! Like others, I'd choose the right hand path, as it looks softer underfoot and seems to go somewhere more mysterious!

I always like walkign by water, so that path!

Carolina said...

Lovely photo! You really made me think, even before I read the question. Which path would I choose. Hmmmm. The thing is, today I would probably choose another path than tomorrow.

Has to be the high road!

I would take the path to the right...what a gorgeous walk, so lush!

I'd eventually end up taking both — but on different days :)

Happy Theme Day!

such a gorgeous photo!

i'd probably want to take the flat path on the right and my husband would want to take the steep one on the left. we'd have a little debate and one of us would give in to the other.

Andrea said...

I would choose the right one!!!!!!!
Love it!!!!!!

Beautiful spot! Great choice!

J. said...

I would defnitely choose the right one - but who knows if the right one is the right one or the left one? I guess it depends on where you want to get;-)

Marie-Noyale said...

Such a beautiful sight to see some "good loocking " green!!!!
I'll go to the right, most probably...

As always, a truly remarkable shot and so professional! Thanks for sharing this on theme day!

The walker can choose sun or shade

I like theme days because of entries like this.

Both paths lead to the same thing. I guess it's true when they say what matters is not the destination but the journey.

I'd take the left one. I wanna sees what's going on in the suburbs.

Clueless in Boston said...

I guess I would take the high road because you get a better view. Happy Theme Day.

Dave-CostaRicaDailyPhoto.com said...

You take the high road and I'll take the low road, and . . . . ooops. You're on an island, so I guess you can't walk to Scotland from there.

Great photo today.

I can't choose! Both are so inviting and mysterious...Perfect!

I like the zoom compression on this! Tell you what; you take the high road, and I'll take the low road...

My first reaction was to go right but I probably would have chosen left. Not sure why.

I take the right path! (which is rare for me, as a left-leaning kind of gal.) Love it!!!

Anonymous said...

I would choose the right path 1st - then at a later date, I'd go back & walk the left path!

Roan said...

I feel like exploring. I'll take the right fork.

I love how you chose that exact spot to take the picture. It makes a much more interesting picture and that is not easy to do in places like this. I learn a lot from your pictures.
Which road? I'd do the full circuit so I end up walking them both.

love this shot Baboosh! Left path for sure....excellent

Hey hi ... This beautiful road ... Fresh air ... Walking ... Take care of yourself. Greetings.

What beautiful colour on this picture - greeeeeen! I miss it! I'd definitely take the soft focus path, it looks like there might be fairies hiding down there to me.

Anonymous said...

good photo you got here and I would choose the right one, the grassy path. Nevertheless, it's good to know that they end up in one destination.

Anonymous said...

I'd go down, with some luck it may lead to a stream or small pond. Cheers and thanks for visiting and kind comment.
Cheers!

Pat said...

Lovely shot, and difficult choice. I'd take the road less traveled, though.

Nathalie H.D. said...

I really enjoyed your choice of two paths, what a creative take on the theme !

I think I would explore both paths. I'd need to know where each of them leads.

Anonymous said...

Wonderful choice of photo although i really do not know which path i would choose :-)

Ken said...

I would like to explore both paths.

Very nice! Me, since I've been taking photos I tend to take the road less travelled.

And best wishes for your birthday

It looked very nice in the park.
Great shot for the theme.

Wonderful -- two very different paths. Great observation.

Sorry about getting around to theme day so late--we had the grandchildren in this weekend

I tried to comment yesterday but the internet gremlins wouldn't let me:(

Lovely pic,I would choose the path less travelled and see where it went!

Thanks for your visit the other day:)

I think I'd just stand there and gaze. Splendid scene and photo.

Susie of Arabia said...

Another fantastic photo, B! I think I would choose the path to the right, just because it looks a bit more rustic, but then I would take the other path where they merge again so I won't miss out on anything!

raf said...

Wow, how did I miss you on theme day?
This is great, Babooshka! The immediate impact of this image for me is....movement, motion, action. Even though there is no one there it moves because it draws me onto the paths as the walker in the picture. Love it!

Judy said...

What a wonderful photo! I like the symbolism of the high road and the low road, and the way one is paved and the other not. Intensified by the soft focus thing.
And having green is also a good thing!
