I promised you belly dancers

Shakin' that ass..... I mean belly.

I told you didn't I that I would show you belly dancers not beer bellies dancing the night away. Put it this way if these ladies shakin' bellies, booties and other b bits didn't show up I would have lured those beer bellies out out of the pub and into action behind darkened veils in a carry on style. Think the hairy stomachs hanging over might have given the game away though don't you? Anyway back to the jiggling ladies. Here they are as promised as some of you out there would say. .... You go girls you got it going on.... is that OK Svg?

Obviously I took more that one photo of the ladies(can anyone name them and some info please?) about (25) and they will be making an appearance at various intervals. I just wanted to show you this one so you can see the Isle of Man Bank in the background. Just for those who often ask is this really in Ramsey. Is this really the Isle of Man? Oh yes it is!Occasionally we get to have what other places have, maybe not belly dancers, (though personally I think every town should have them), but something called a good time. Pity some kids had to take the p..s though of the dancers and the bands playing. Pity I never got the evidence on camera. Oh no, wait a minute I lied ..... I did.

  4. Fishing guy - No dancing for me by belly is too flat.

Erin- Yes they did have those clanger things and bells. The music was soft and swirling. Well that's what it sounded like after a beer or too.

  5. The dancers add a lot of color to the scene, in more ways than one. I can see many of the spectators were trying out the moves.

  6. I'm glad we didn't get the beer bellies.
Their colorful costumes and the back drop of the city street make a nice photo.

  7. Summer is the time to visit your world. Many happenings going on. I wouldn't mind a good laugh today if you showed some beer bellies. That would make me feel a lot better about my love handles :)

  11. I enjoyed the ladies performance. I always enjoy these ladies dancing. To answers readers questions. Yes they did have cymbals on the their fingers. The ladies had, without being too delicate, plenty of tummy to roll. You can also see the Mitre Hotel a Ramsey landmark in addition to the bank.

Well done. Look forward to the other 24.

  24. Great shot and a fun post. Ironically when I was young and slender without much of a belly to move I took belly dancing. Now that I'm an older woman with plenty of belly, there's no way I'd take belly dancing although I have friends that do and say it's a fun way to exercise.

  27. Nice shot, thanks for sharing.
    And was the music good?

  28. I have no belly to shake. I am just the humble photographer. So you want to see more of them. Will do.

Hilda-The music was lilting gently, a little like myself after a beer.

  33. I've heard it's great exercise, and looks like fun, too. If nothing else, those ladies must have a great time with the clothes and bells.

  40. Love the red trousers so vibrant. Looks like a good time in Ramsey. More of a party than sheep crossing a bridge. (that's what I did)

  41. She is having fun in her bright outfit amusing the crowd no doubt.

  42. «Louis» was (ahem) udderly fascinated with this post...

  43. Looks to me like shimmyin' those shoulders! I used to do a little of the old belly dance myself but considered it a passtime for behind closed doors, in the company of like-minded and similarly clad women attending the same class in the same draughty hall! Hats off to these women for entertaining the crowds in Ramsay. Perfect shot for My World - what with belly dancing fast becoming a British tradition...?!
    Janice.
