MY WORLD IS A WILD ISLE OF MAN MEADOW

Welcome to the jungle!

Wild isn't it? I mean really wild, overgrown get yourself lost in meadow. Gorgeous isn't it. Not if you have hay fever though I suspect or a phobia to creepy crawlies or bigger things like beetles, spiders, worms and dare I say it RATS. I mean longtails. Superstition shh we can't say the R word, but now and again you can hear one scuttling past. Fortunately(or not you can't actually see them with the wild look above. For those of you who have virtually walked this way before and skywatched you may have guessed this is Nature Reserve, leading towards the River. In the distance is the hint of a Barrule, and the industrial building you can see where the Post Office has it's depot.. What you can't see what I'm talking about, due to the wild, wild, grass. Then I'll just have to show you on a clear day. Click the coloured links below to reveal the hidden wonders.

So when life gets a little too much, take yourself off to the meadow where you can get lost amongst the mini jungle.

  1. I love to explore the area as long as someone came first to cut a path.

  4. I'm definitely NOT afraid of the mini jungle rats! As long as I'm not bothered by ants, they are really annoying :(

  8. I enjoyed all the photos, different views of this part of your world. I'm just as glad we couldn't see the longtails (aka r*ts) though the a view of the fairy folk would have been a treat!

  9. Reminds me of Wyeth without the calculated artsyness. I could wallow in that grass for hours..

  10. Ken Mac - Thank you for the compliment. Andrew Wyeth I admit I had to Google and see to compare. Thanks for the intro. Natural is always best.

  13. While you're talking about what's on the ground my eyes are fixed on the sky above. You have a glorious skyscape on this photo.

  14. I prefer your meadow to those in Australia, which bristles with snakes and other dangerous creatures. Thanks for your post! And for your visit!

  15. Hi Babooshka - I had to root around in your other posts to discover what a "barrule" is! Of course, I do see it there in the distance. It will be a good place to run if any of those "r's" start bothering me!

  22. It certainly looks like a land of fairies and I thought I saw just the glimpse of one in the grasses, but it was gone. Won't they hold still for a photo?

  23. It looks so inviting. Rats? I could probably deal with that. It's ticks I despise.

  24. Looks like a wonderful natural spot to escape to and forget about the goings on in the world - especially the noisy TT.

  28. Very interesting and I love the grass. Here in Oklahoma, USA we have grass like that but, unless you saturate yourself with deet, if you wallow around in it you will have a bunch of chigger bites and ticks attached.

  29. I'm not sure I could manage a picture like this, I would be sneezing so much I'm afraid my camera might fly into the mouth f one of those R things.
    It is a fabulous view.

  31. Interesting photo. Reminds me of the long lallang (a type of long grass) over here which I hated it when I walked across them. They can give nasty cuts.

  36. Okay, when you have to dial 1-800-PIED-PIPER, don't come cryin' to me Missy. You're the one that keeps tossin' around the "R" word.
