Light and Shade
A black and white study of Gladstone Park. For those who were here for this week(click
here) it is the same tree and twisting shadows, same time of evening but captured from further back along the road, minus the bend and obviously in black and white.
As I pointed out the other day, how the camera can deceive. This is such a clean looking, serene lonesome road isn't it. Only at this time of night.
.
Loved the light and shadow in this picture, only the black and white once can show ous that.
ReplyDeleteNice week from Anne in Norway.
It does look quite, I agree. And very nice in b&wh. Great contrasts.
ReplyDeleteGreat tonal shot.
ReplyDeleteI am afraid I keep getting warned that you site carries a virus.
Great light and shadows. very lively.
ReplyDeleteSunrise, sunset beautiful capture.
ReplyDeleteAileni, arhhh....I don't ?
It looks like the clouds are moving and the wind is blowing the trees
ReplyDeleteAileni- I keep getting something on some blogger sites but not mine. Not sure if blogger has a glitch or something again. Just had new software update and not showing anything here. anyone else getting this?
ReplyDeleteThis shot feels like it was taken before the storm.
ReplyDeleteNo probs pet getting through. Same as usual. Nice touch of creepy tree.
ReplyDeleteI don't get any warnings..
ReplyDeleteBut my PC is quite fucked up atm.
I love the light and shadows playing together in this shot.
Mono mania in perfection.
According to my photographs..
You said something about haunting feeling right down your street.
I take that as a compliment :)
But I DO shot colour animals and flowers without the haunting feeling..
Not so very often, but it happens! :)
Have a look sometime,
you might be surprised! ;)
Have a great week!
Anna
Anna,
ReplyDeleteThat was a compliment, your images are very striking.
Had to delete a link and all ok now. My over sensitive software was being a pain so deleted the links it didn't like and fine now.
That has such a serene look and I remember the skywatch one did too. Hard to imagine that it's a busy road much of the time. I love the mood of this shot.
ReplyDeleteSure does look like a lonesome country road! I'll believe it's a busy thoroughfare when I see it. LOL
ReplyDeleteBoth photos look creepy but pretty. I would like to see it with the cars and trolleys.
ReplyDeleteYou do have a lot of beautiful pictures on your site,I love this mono :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice comment on my blog.
It looks very different from the last pic in same place. Do you need a store?
ReplyDeleteHad to look twice, but I can see you're several paces further on in this one than Friday's shot. I'm partial to this version myself. The monochrome really underscores the quietude of it. The silence must be deafening after TT week.
ReplyDeleteMonochrome images like this one do accentate the different tonal differences; nice shot - I like it.
ReplyDeletethis is wonderfully magnificent!
ReplyDeletetrès beau b&w, avec ombre chinoise, cela rend très bien
ReplyDeletevery nice b&w, with Chinese shade, it is very well productive
Great shot.
ReplyDeleteRegina
Gaelyn - We could do with the ones we have actually functioning better then we wouldn't need a Tescos. Even we have internet shopping so I do my Tescos back up shopping that way.
ReplyDeleteNice shot. It looks like the road right into the brightness at the end. MB
ReplyDeleteI live on this road. It is a mess in the day because they are still building. I cannot hang my washing out without it getting covered in dust. I cannot park my car outside my house. It gets dust covered too.My kids can't play out because the cars and trucks don't look where they are going. You are right this is a nice quiet road by night but not in the day anymore.
ReplyDeleteI like the light and shadow too, it works really well.
ReplyDeleteAmazing use of light and dark and that shadow of the tree. Wow!
ReplyDeleteYes I am having a lot of problems. Some sites are harder than others to logon to. Sometimes I can resolve by logging on with firefox, but not always.
ReplyDeleteyou are a champ at getting just the right contrast!
ReplyDeleteIt is the same place but so different in black and white. Strange tree fingers.
ReplyDeleteRamsey Mom - Noted you annoyance. Check out my blog post tonight and more to come. The noise too is very irritating.
ReplyDeleteHi Babooshka,
ReplyDeleteI came for My World but noticed this photo in B & W was the same scene you posted for Sky Watch. There is a quality to this picture which makes it seem as though the road is a speedway of some sort - so maybe you're right - it isn't as serene as it appears! Even the tree on the right seems to be leaning from a fierce wind.
Beautiful snap.
ReplyDeleteLove the monochrome. The angle of the tree on the right gives the whole image a clean, windswept feel. The shadow of the tree on the left is just icing on the cake.
