Would you do this?
Isle of Man TT - My job is photographing events like this.
I am a photographer I sell my images freelance. This year images were sold privately, public, motorbike magazines and for print on strange items for mugs to T.shirts. Who knows you may have my image without even realising it in magazine you picked up at the airport in say Brazil. What though is the TT.
This is very important part of My World. It is our biggest tourist attraction and my biggest chance to photograph a World Event, over 1000 images in two weeks. My busiest and most profitable time. Next year I am already booked for a magazine and an online website. Click here to see of my images on the blog. All subject to copyright.
MY WORLD and thank the skywatch gang once again for another inspired idea.

I could see this being on the cover of a motorcycle mag. Just perfect!
ReplyDeletehmmmmmmmmm Babooska I am not sure | like to drive a motor like this I would love to try...
ReplyDeleteHAPPY NEW YEAR and its again a fantastic My world:)

That's a great shot and no I wouldn't have the nerve to do that on a motorcycle. Still looks like fun. Interesting learning about your world and photography.
ReplyDeleteThank You. See you in the summer. Where do you take them from. Can you teach me to take top notch images.
Babooshka: That was a neat look into a personal psrt of your world.
ReplyDeleteWOW, great post and awesome photo. It would be really cool to photograph such an occasion!!
ReplyDeleteTake care
Photographers have to be fast to get great shots like this one. This one proves you are a pro!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! I don't think that anyone can get me onto a motorcycle and the only way I would look like that is in the second before falling over ;)
ReplyDeleteWe don't have this event in Kuching(my town)but we have cup prix small 100cc event (once a year).
ReplyDeleteBy the way I like the photo.
Great shot! and I agree, looks like a magazine cover to me! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAlways something to learn here, and the photo is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like quint an event. There's always something to learn about your Isle!
ReplyDeleteI love your photos. I always look forward to what you have in store for us.
ReplyDeleteHappy 2009.
Would You tell me why so many questions? ;)
ReplyDeleteNO. I would not "ride" like that. No Way! But I'd happily photograph the event :) Glad to hear you've already lined up assignment for this year's event.
ReplyDeleteKoala- More answers than questions.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot babooshka, must be fun being on a Job like you are.
ReplyDeleteAwesome photography. If I don't get over this year I will miss it and miss meeting to you.
ReplyDeleteI wouldnt ride em,(too old haha) but I would photograph them. Great shot there you have.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great action shot, Babooshka! It's amazing that they can be tilted that far without falling over. Sounds like you've carved out quite a career for yourself. Thanks for the kind comments you've left on my blog!

There was a time in my life I'd have been all over this. Now? Hopefully in my old age I've gotten a little smarter.
ReplyDeleteGreat piece. I sure hope you're paid for writing too. I know you're a good photographer. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteCool
ReplyDeleteA very special event that requires a very skilled photographer. I am very aware of both. Sports photography is not my thing but I am in awe of those that do it. As an aside, during the New Years day parade I learned of a the Ace Cafe. Do you know of it and its members?
ReplyDeletei would not do that! But I bet you had fun shooting it!
ReplyDeleteBabooshka, your photos are fantastic. No wonder you're booked for the magazine and website -- they both need good photos. And thanks for the information about the race.
ReplyDeleteA great action picture and an excellent group of photos. Thanks for sharing this part of your world.
ReplyDeleteNeat shot! I thought maybe that was you under all that regalia--speeding out of town. LOL MB
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo! My husband and I are motorcyclists and would LOVE to visit your gorgeous island some day. We read many motorcycle magazines and probably have seen your photos. Keep up the good work. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world.
ReplyDeleteNice 'meeting' you. :o)

I would not dare to ride a motorcycle that fast... good timing on the shot.
ReplyDeleteGood job!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds to dangerous!
ReplyDeletei'd like to try to ride on that:D but not sure if i can stay on the seat more than a minute. Anyway, quite interesting job you got there. I like taking photos but nothing like what you do though:) just curious, what camera do you use?
ReplyDeleteMy world entry is up here
I recently came accross your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I dont know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.so you also can read my blog.my blog is about
ReplyDeleteair max.air shox.air jordanand some kinds of jordan.welcome to visit.
Babs. Like the labels I can find my way around better. You will have tourists buzzing round you next TT to get photos like this. Count me in for the lesson.
ReplyDeleteThat must be an interesting job.
ReplyDeleteActions shots can be tricky but you've done well with this one. It's a real talent to see what will sell and then bringing it into being with the camera.
It looks impossible...that's why it's a great shot. Makes me think about the physics of it all.
ReplyDeleteExcellent shooting. I will bet the large version of this shot is stunning -- not much room for error by the driver.
ReplyDeleteThat is very cool. Sounds like a very fun job.
ReplyDeleteWell and truly nailed Babooshka. Am I right in thinking taken from Taubman Street or by the Chuck Waggon 'cause if I'm not mistaken the people behind the barriers are standing outside the Central. Great choice for My World.
ReplyDeleteGreat job capturing something with such intense speed. Nice talent to have.
ReplyDeletesuperb action capture!!!
ReplyDeleteDamn sight better than wedding photography!!
ReplyDeleteNope i would never do that, but what a great shot.
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible event to photograph! Emtions on faces and action shots must be plentiful!
ReplyDeleteLoved this post!
Magnificent picture! It doesn't look like motor magazine - it is for motor magazine!!! Greetings from Croatia and Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo. He is almost on the ground with his leg.
ReplyDeleteWhat would a trip to the arcade games be without playing the Isle of Man TT??? My smallest boy and I always enjoy taking a 'ride' :)
ReplyDeleteBeing a pro photographer is no picnic. Our son is one too. Your income seems to be as variable as ours from farming. we're lucky if we brake evens!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics, just don't get in their way!
Very nice photograph. I like the color and the drama.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who also does this for a living (he rides the bikes) and he has some fantastic photographs.
Would I do that? You mean take the picture? I sure as heck would try. Ride the bike? That may take some doing.
ReplyDeleteYou must have so many fantastic photos of this exciting sport. I really enjoyed reading more about your profession. Thanks for sharing this with My World.

That looks exciting but I've got to say that I would not try that. I can watch and admire but that's definitely not for me. :-) I can see why your photos are used. It's an awesome shot.
ReplyDeleteIt must be the Chuck Wagon. Fantastic. How about teaching us on The Island to do this. I'd be in.
ReplyDeleteWow to photograph a moment like this.
ReplyDeleteI like to see these images but not to be on that bike. Great post!
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say Babooshka! Magnificent shot! ande No I wouldn't do that! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's an intense moment you captured here, B! Truly the work of a pro.
ReplyDeleteI learned so much from this post. Thanks. Would like to sell photos like you do ... Don't know how to do it here though. Any suggestions?
Great shots. Very good job.
ReplyDeletePhoto is more leisure than job.
Job and leisure as activity is good!!
I like bike racing but I follow Formula 1 more. Thanks for your story.
ReplyDeletewell, I came here to see ABC but this got my attention!
ReplyDeleteWho is it?
My brain recalls my only experience of this event, about Sept 47, big race, not sure which but there were over one hundred riders, 95% Nortons.
ReplyDeleteThe first five were Nortons and the sixth a Moto Guzzi.
Ist, Briggs on 44.
Second, Parkinson on 38.
Third, Moule on 52.
Time trials gave the seemingly naval tradition of HMS a totally different meaning.
I'm a little envious in that you have the ability/talent to match your desire. I would love to make a living out of doing what I like most..(but there simply aren't that many openings for champagne tasters :)) )
