The hill on the right is the most important in Ramsey and Isle of Man history.
I chose this image to show as part of the my world theme to illustrate that although the photo is present day, we are always living amongst the past. For more my entries click MY WORLD and thank the skywatch gang once again for another inspired idea.

Babooshka....Thank you for a SUPERB photo yet again as well as an in depth narrative about the history of this Ramsey landmark. Just wondered if you have ever taken the public footpath (part of the Millennium Way) up part of the way up this great hill which has stunning views over Ramsey?

I love this period of history. I am particularly attracted by William the Conqueror/Battle of Hastings, dating from about the same period in history. I always tried to imagine, when visiting places like your photo, who walked there, whom they loved, what they talked about, etc. The past is all around us.
