RAMSEY GOLD - SKYWATCH FRIDAY

Apologises for another sunset, but small islands don't have great cityscapes. You work with what you have, so it's another Ramsey setting sun shot. It's taken from a friends flat,(a very understanding friend of this obsessive photographer, one of the rugby players from an earlier photo post) hanging out the upstairs window. Probably not the safest way to capture a sunset, but I didn't want half a window frame obscuring the view. The harbour front buildings and scaffolding I kept in, and refrained from cropping, simply because they are integral to the overall image, a slice of Ramsey.

    No apology is needed. I like the sunset and the contrasts in everything in the photo from sky and land to colors. Nice shot.

    The foreground usually makes the picture - even if you have to hang out the window! It seems to have been worth it.

    Interesting about the language - I did,'t know it was that Gaelic. I thought the old Norse presence would have left a clearer impression. Oh, well...

    truly .....if I had a sunset like this every evening, I would take tons of photos! Nice shot!

    "Stunning" seems to be the right word, and I see that it has been used already. So if you can apologize for using another sunset, I will apologize for being redundant to describe it.

    I started to look at the language thing, then chickened out. But if you insert a one-word lesson here and there, we might have something.

    Quite a golden sunset. A lack of skyscrapers is not a bad thing. And leaning out a window is no worse than snapping a photo out of a car window while traveling 60 mpg in traffic - not that I'd ever do that of course, no... :)

    Re-visiting and found the link about the Manx language. I was just about to ask you to post a clip for us to hear, but see that you had already given us the opportunity. Beautiful language to hear, but must be very hard to learn to speak! Thanks again for the education!
