CAN YOU SEE THE BERRIED SUNSET?

Berried Sunset

Ok it should actually be sunset buried, but it was crying out for the bad pun. Apologies in advance for the groan you just made reading the title.

I actually have to thank another for this inspired skywatch shot. I was going to upload a crescent moon taken on the same night but I haven't sorted those out yet. When blog hopping I came across CHELTENHAM, MARLEY one of my regular drops and he had a beautiful berry shot(go see) and it jogged my memory about this image I took on the same night. The crescent moon was out and the sky was just awash with a palette of colours I easily rattled off a about 50 shots in about 10 mins, just adjusting the setting to eek out every last drop of light as I went along. Again this was taken over the Poyll Dooey Nature Reserve Ramsey- otherwise known as the back of my house. I know I am lucky to have this to call upon for photography. I could produce a calender or a book of images from this place, it's just so pretty and inspiring. Where is your favourite place to photograph?

Busy weekend coming up. If you are in the UK buy the Sunday Star newspaper as Gary's Cartoon will be in( under the name Barker) and watch the BARKER GALLERY BBC POLITICS SHOW as yet again they are featuring Gary's cartoon. So I am resigned to coffee and food runs while he produces 3 or 4 masterpieces, deadline by Friday lunchtime. Art and photography is like waiting for a bus. Ages for a job to come in then they all turn up at once! Unfortunately the money though doesn't all turn up at the same time.

To join skywatch go to SKYWATCH

The concept was Dot's, the next host WIGGERS WORLD the guardians of skywatch now are Tom, Imac and Sandy.

I know Tom is no longer blogging, but he does look in on us occasionally and his name will stay ont this skywatch link for me as he's the one who got me into this, was very supportive of my feldging blog when it went through a rough patch.

Happy SkyWatch, I'm doing it again this week (Little Photo Place). There could be a berry or two in my bushes, I didn't know to look.

  60. Wonderful. There is a very special light on it.

  61. That's a lovely photo - I love the yellows in the sunset.

Art, photography like waiting for a bus. Add interviews to the list - my husband has been temping for months (not in Glasgow, just to make life even more complicated), and now has 3 interviews lined up in the next couple of weeks (none in Glasgow, though one in Scotland). So life is a bit manic here too. Send chocolate :D

  62. It looks like a plant that grows in abundance here, yaupon holly, which I love. Great lighting for this one.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I like that 'berried' term :)
    And the photograph is beautiful!

  64. If you can't beat them join them......Berry effective......Love it.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Great shot!! I didn't groan at all, I laughed :)

  66. Clever puns should never be berried nor buried, but instead encouraged. Flight of fancy and you never know where it will lead.

Barry couldn't have done better :)

(By the way, I have no idea who Barry is, but hey ... I do know where Bari is :))

  67. This is an absolutely fabulous image! I enjoy it so much!

Thanks for the interesting post above on the rule of thirds too

    ReplyDelete
  87. Those berries will travel to the sunset in a flash.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I love the way the berries are to the fore in this photo and not simply swallowed up by the stunning sunset. If I had taken this photo it would have been the sunset not the berries that would have dominated the photo. I can not tweak the settings on my camera to change this...maybe the macro setting? Come on, give us some tips Babooshka!
Your Gary's in the Star? It must have gone upmarket these days, his excellent work will really stand out there. I'll look out for it.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Beautiful, Babooshka! The photo is very pleasing to the eye. Excellent sky watch. I would love to see the crescent moon photos, too.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Berry, berry nice sunset! (I couldn't resist continuing the pun) I love this kind of picture with a close subject setting off the distant one. The effect is more telling when it is lighted rather than a silhouette. My favorite place to photograph is Yosemite National Park in California even though I have been there only once. For my blog Lew's Pics, more photos have been taken by walking outside than getting in the car and driving some place.

  91. Perfect! Just about every color of the rainbow in there. Very lovely. :)

  92. Hi, you've been TAGGED. Sorry to spoil your Sunday!

  93. Hello,
stunning and exquisite and astonishing picture. I really love it, as well as the pun:-)
    My favourite picture so far.
I have no favourite place to photograph. But usually when the skywatch Friday is coming and I don´t have any photos of the sky, I just open the window and take a photo of the sky in front of my house. So maybe this is not my most favourite place to photograph, but definitely the most occured in my blog:-)
